    Why do you have to select an audience? Can anyone purchase the product through the landing page or just subscribers on that audience list? Thanks

      Anyone can purchase a product. Once they do, they are added to the audience list selected.

    Thank you for this video! It was really helpful! I do have a suggestion/ request… can you do a video on how to collect emails from buyers in Square? I know there is a prompt if a customer is buying for the first time but not after that. Another video (or maybe you can integrate the 2) is collecting the emails at point of sale and automatically adding those to your mailchimp. I’ve been looking into this for the last couple of weeks here and there but can’t find enough info or what I’m really looking to do. I’m sure you’re a busy guy so if this isn’t in your interest to do I’ll understand. Again, thank you for your help! I’m definitely going to get my square & mailchimp linked this evening!

      Hi Alisha,
      From the Mailchimp side of things, Square products are sold through a landing page, and yes, emails are collected into your audience you specified when you set up your landing page. If the customer checks the box to receive news and exclusive offers you can email them. Otherwise, I believe, they are entered as transactional only. You can't send emails to the transactional only audience unless you purchase a transactional email plan. However, if you're familiar with Zapier you can skip over the Mailchimp landing page/Square integration and add Square customers to your audience list - zapier.com/apps/mailchimp/integrations/square/24509/add-new-square-customers-to-a-list-in-mailchimp. Just make sure they know they are being added to the list. Any other questions let me know. I may do a video on the Square/Mailchimp Zapier connection.

    Thanks for this. I worked all day yesterday trying to figure this out and watching unnecessary videos. What I still don't know and most people seem to stop at this part, is if my product is a digital product,
    1. How do I get notified a sale has taken place? Is Square notifying me, Mailchimp, both?
    2. Assuming the customer would get an email from me with links to download the product, how is this happening on auto pilot? I know for a free product I can create an automation email via MailChimp to send immediately after a sign up is complete. How would I send the automated email immediately after a purchase is completed? I did see an option for automation email on Square, but it says I have to upgrade. I don't want to upgrade unless it's absolutely necessary and that's the only or at least correct way to do it.
    Thank you for your time. Do you have a video or blog post about it?

    • @LarrySnow
      @LarrySnow  4 года назад +4

      Hi Bonita -
      The answer to question 1 is both. The answer to question 2 - there is an option under the e-commerce automation to send a follow-up on a purchase email after a product was purchased. Here you can set the product purchased as the trigger and in the email put a link in to download the digital product.

    • @LarrySnow

      Did you mean to say Square not Samcart? Businesses who rely on Square for payment processing have the ability to add customers to their Mailchimp contacts. By doing so, they can keep their customers up to date on future sales. new products, tips, and advice on using products.

      Yes, they'd be purchasing 1 product at a time. If customers are routinely buying more than one digital product, perhaps you could create a digital product that includes 3 or more patterns at an incentivized price. Create an after purchase Mailchimp automation for that Square combined digital product that will include the links to the patterns for download. I also would recommend you to take a look at Zapier to be the go-between with Square - Mailchimp and anything you're doing manually with Google Drive.

    Hey Larry - I'm having a problem with being able to customize receipts - when someone buys the product, I need the receipt to give them the Zoom link for the class they are buying. It seems like since the "receipt" comes from Mailchimp, I should be able to customize receipts there, but I can't figure out how to do it. I also tried changing the item description on my Square account but that information wasn't used to generate the receipt either. HELP!

    • @LarrySnow
      @LarrySnow  4 года назад +1

      Hi Clare - the receipt email is located under the Automate tab, then click Email, then click on Enable Order Notifications under the Featured tab. By default, the order receipt should be enabled. Click on Edit Design. You'll only be able to edit the top two paragraphs. However, I believe that is for all purchases.

    • @LarrySnow
      @LarrySnow  4 года назад +1

      There is another way - one someone buys from your store/Square product, they get added to the Mailchimp audience list as a transaction subscriber that is connected to the store. So a better way, and more direct the product is to set up an E-commerce automation. To start go to the Automate tab, then click Email, then from the sub navigation click on E-Commerce. From the E-Commerce section select Follow Up on Purchases. On the next Window, at the top links, select Specific Product. Then name your campaign, and select the Audience that is connected to the store/Square payments. Click Begin. On the next page, click the Edit next to the Trigger. On the next window, select the specific product and set the time frame of when to send the email. Once your set, click Update Trigger from the top right of the page. Then back on the Automation setup click Design Email, add in all the information necessary for the Zoom call. After the design is set, click Next, in the final step click Start Sending.
