Great project and video. Love thumbs down twice, LOL! Would have been nice to see some more varied designs in the sketching phase. Keep the up the great work!
Thanks, I try to keep the sketching down to a minimum, good point though about variations, always good to have that, I have to budget, design and build time with video editing to get these videos done in a week. Thanks again for the feedback 😊 much appreciated
Super cool little product... i wonder if this would be kick start product that people would buy... i can imagine someone or 2 in my household that would use it...
Good one! I'm a big fan of the blades you can snap off for keeping things sharp. You've got me thinking how they could be implemented in a compact form factor.
Awesome! This is the first time i see an industrial design project from A to Z. I guess step would be the make holes that are ergonomically suited for left AND right handed ;) Would definetly buy it. I also got interested in Fusion 360
I used to work for Eric and always brought up the 'what about lefties?' issue. I'm guessing the final 3-D rendering could easily be 'flipped' to produce a left-handed version.
Very cool. I personally would have made the butt end a little thicker, and added a grooved texture to the thumb grips for better friction. But like you said, each has their own... Good job ;-)
Thanks for sharing that food coloring trick! I'd like to get myself the tools you were using at 12:10 and 12:25. What are they called and what's the brand? Thanks!
@@EricStrebel California likes you too. haha, but our faculty is small, mainly because our program is under funded, it's under funded because only 24-25 students out of 60 or so get accepted into our program (first year portfolio review is tough). Would be awesome to have a professor who can proficiently make stuff and we can rely on to have all of the useful hacks that you have.....THAT being said, doing a "hand" drawing tutorial for ID would be cool, I have a hard time drawing hands holding my products to put them into better perspective. No real good tutorials out there for that subject.

Awesome, best of luck to you!
It's cool that you shared your design process. Very interesting. Thanks
The process was interesting, but then 5:16 blew my mind. Great idea. This will be useful on future projects of mine.
I noted some irony, using blood red when designing around blades
Awesome! Doesn't hurt that this form factor will also allow you precision on a whole new level!
This is how design needs to be taught. Skip all the art school dept-generation and start making cool stuff.
Fun to watch through all the steps of the design, nice work!
Thanks!
Great video on the design process. Love the usage of the scanner. Saves time and is probably more accurate. Aloha! : )
Definitely better than a photograph
Great! It makes me understand your workflow and thinking process. I would like to learn more about adding flex to 3d-printed designs.
Keep a first aid box nearby - the part of the blade farthest from the point is VERY exposed

Great knife design... And I bet there are a lot of people out there that wouldn't mind buying one...
Thanks, have to see what the feedback is like 😀
@@EricStrebel please count me as interested!
@@EricStrebel Can i have a 3d model?
Thanks a lot sir! This showed true insights of, what goes in product designing. Expecting more of this kind 😍

Cool vid and great idea.
very clever, needs a lefthand version and a scabbard to protect the edge...

If you check out my backpack hanger series that is a little bit more in depth from a to z

@@xushomo2799 Yes, that would be very easy to flip and make a lefty version! Thanks for brining it up Xu ;-)
This video was awesome and I was wondering if you could do one on solidworks like tips and tricks

I LEARN A LOT FROM YOUR VIDEOS. I AM A SENIOR. LOVE IT! HOW ABOUT A POCKET KNIFE STYLE?
Great process. Thx so much.
Thank you for your comment and support

Love this, count me in! The Luer lock bottles with needles - no shipping option to Australia?
Domestic only, sorry.
will you post the file to print?
You should teach at SJSU. We need more teachers lol.
I like California sounds good

Does it come in black?
I would image you can print it in just about any color you want.
