There was a kid with the last name Carrier at my Christian school, and people would constantly sing this song to him when he walked down the hall. Thanks for the memory unlocked.
Heard this at 14 yrs old at a church camp in Colorado. Ol Billy himself had the sides of the room singing each part of the verse. Man I'm old now but this song has never left my mind
Its crazy to me to hear people outside of Texas knowing him so well. As a kid, he was at my church and church camp in the DFW area so much, I always thought he was exclusively local. I'm glad his sings got spread so far and wide. 🎉
I met and shook the man's hand back in '92 in Vermillion, SD before Rich died. This album came out about the same time as Rich Mullins' "The World as Best I Can Remember It" came out. Rich and Billy were destined to come to our Luthern Church here in Sioux Falls in 1992 one spring evening. I had already bought the album on "cassette". I can't believe we have to put that form of media in quotes now. But, you know what? I still have the cassette, and the players, and they still work! Thanks Billy, happy times with peace in our Lord Jesus! Years before this, I had prayed that Jesus would allow me to meet the creator of this song I loved so much. The Lord allowed me the money, gas, and time to be at their concert that night. Billy had one side of the congregation sing, "Whoa oh oh oh ...oh, it's alright, it's alright!" ...while the other half sang, "Carrier, carrier if you need a carrier..." There's nothing more special and endearing than seeing him live. Take it up if you are given the chance. Btw...Mom always taught me to "save a paper trail." It's time to do that. There is no digital copy as far as I am aware. We have to do with this, and a "media trail". Thanks RUclips. I love you!
Billy appeared as the featured artist at CPYA - the Cascades Presbytery Youth Assembly - in Canby Grove, Oregon during the 90's. His prophetic, no-nonsense, warm-hearted approach to discipleship in Jesus Christ drew the young people and leaders, incredibly. Wishing him well, wherever he is.
That was where our youth group heard him! We then got his song book from this album and fell in love with many of the songs. We would go on mission trips in the Summer. That summer we were on a trip building houses. We used "Builda House" as the theme song and it was awesome! We also would often end our time together, arms across each other's shoulders in a circle, singing "All Together." Good memories.
I don't know how long it's been since I've heard this song, but it's a good feeling to hear a song that you haven't listened to in many years, and yet you still remember the words. It's just a wonderful song that brings back wonderful memories! Thank you and God Bless!
Wow! I haven't heard this in almost 20 years! On a road trip to California with my youth group we listened to this almost nonstop (and the first album Jars of Clay released) I was about 13 but I remember it well. That was a fun trip. Just hearing this song takes me back to that week. So awesome! Thank you for the trip down Memory Lane. God bless you. :)
The group was called "Song" and members included Jim Woodruff (who is an ELCA pastor in Minnesota), Joel Sunde, and Chuck Pederson. They were formerly affiliated with Lutheran Youth Encounter. I agree, they did a great job with this song. I too, remember that youth gathering! Great times!
so glad I found this song that I have not heard in years. Still searching for more of the 70s, 80s stuff? Anyone remember a band that was kind of like Crosby stills and nash and they had an album that was white?
I don't know why this isn't on spotify! I found my old cassette of this album in my mom's stuff when she pased. Anyone have this album available digitally?
If you have a way to include Best of Friends from this same album, it would be a huge help. I can not find a digital copy anywhere. Love Carrier is also a good one, thanks.

The BEST Hallelujah Amen
I rode around in Dallas with my stereo blaring this song! I really needed a carrier and this song reminded me that I had one.
94.1 FM KLTY!! Me too!!
I heard the song performed in a coffee house in Peoria (the "Crib") in 1973.
Wasn't this song written in 1986 or so?
Loved this song!!!
Wow!!! Haven't heard this song in years!!! Great memories!!!
Billy Crockett #1
Yes. I remembered this song being played on KLRD 90.1FM In Yucaipa, California back in the early 90's. Great song that is.
@claystairs...
Billy's music can be purchased at his site: Billy Crockett . com
Wow! This song "carried" me through a very painful time in my life!! Thanks for posting . . . MT Klein (Stuttgart, Germany)
Wow...it's been over 20+ years! Thanks for uploading.
This song was played by a group at the Lutheran Youth Gathering 1992 in New Orleans. It was a more rock version. I can't seem to find that version.

Classically beautiful and uplifting Christian music. Thanks for putting it up!
Love this song!

Do you remember any words to any of their songs? Sojourner? Harvest? Sweet Comfort Band? All these are guesses on my part, and I'm probably incorrect.
I absolutely love this song. Would love to have this on cd but I can't seem to find it.
I don't know why this isn't on spotify! I found my old cassette of this album in my mom's stuff when she pased. Anyone have this album available digitally?
Sadly it’s been out of print for a very long time.
You can check with Billy’s website and see if it’s available there.
I would love to be able to hear "Best of Friends" from this album.
It's on my channel.
You are good. Think so. They had a guy with a real high voice. Thx
This one’s for you Ed Leght
If you have a way to include Best of Friends from this same album, it would be a huge help. I can not find a digital copy anywhere. Love Carrier is also a good one, thanks.
Ummm...... as you say in the info: This is a song from the 80s. So what's with the Classic 90's CCM title? *Facepalm*
It's like 1989 up. I think that was the first year I met him. He was a staple at my church and church camp.
