It’s called a cut and cover tunnel and can be made to look nice with landscaping

Thank god there is a tunnel, the roads and other railway in the area will not get jealous.

Are they going to cover the other rail line too? What's the point of a green tunnel if there's an open non-green trench next to it anyway?

its overground before and after the short copthall tunnel, the tunnel ends before the bridge at the river pinn and starts at harvil road, its also goin to have vent holes so when the train passes through the tunnel you will get a trumpet sound (maybe) more info here assets.hs2.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Copthall-Tunnel-and-NSPA_Community-update_290721-Final.pdf

HS2 covered to placate those who are interested in green issues and Tory voters? That existing line is already established, so environmentalists and Tory voters aren't bothered by that one. Weird, huh?

Can someone please explain to me … I can see they backfill already the trenches but I can’t see any waterproofing of the concrete? Is there any waterproof on the concrete walls what I can’t see? Is this not common there? Or is not needed?

Waterproofing is membrane on walls spray on roof, not installed yet with injectables on all construction joints

It’s installed in sequence with the backfill

    Great footage, SIMONE x
So they dug a cutting, built a massive concrete box and are now backfilling to bury the box? I didn't realise the local mushrooms were so strong. It's pure insanity, dear.
Sure, Harvil Road now looks like a 30mph motorway but that could have been achieved with a reallignment over a simple cutting for the railway.
Anyway, the world has gone completely mad: After 60 years, Mary Poppins has just been reclassified from a 'U' to a 'PG' because Mayor Khan't spotted some 'colonial language' in there somewhere.
    Keep 'em coming, sweetie x.

i know, its a crazy amount of work for a short tunnel, the tunnel starts at harvil road and finishes before the river pinn, it looks fantastic but will be a green mound with 5 vent holes protruding out the top, would make a great set for a teletubbies film though, i cant wait, teletubbies mushrooms and vent holes perfect...
