    I grew up with Maggie. She was such an inspiring soul, it truly breaks my heart and soul knowing the people who did this are out there still. Thank you so much for giving this the coverage it deserves, and if anyone knows anything please come forward or send in tips. Our community hasn’t felt the same since this happened.

    When my grandpa was alive,someone tried to break into his house because his idiot cousin kept telling people that he was rich. He was not, but in a small town that sort of things gets around. We still don't know who tried to break in, but the door they tried to use was broken and got stuck, so they couldn't get it open all of the way. Plus, grandpa was home at the time.
    So yeah, if someone ran their mouth about this family keeping money in the house, then it does make sense that it was a robbery gone wrong. That poor girl. I sincerely hope that the people who did this are caught.

    Tim is behind it. Too organized for a random robbery, sounds like an Oceans Eleven plot, and most people in their 20's aren't that organized.
    He took a long time to leave the property, he didn't go downstairs and investigate the noises...and he is trained to search the house, and the police are trying to hide the info.
    So sorry for the family's loss, just heartbreaking!

      @@MsArtemis64 obviously we don't know what the cops know...but again who knows criminal behavior more than a cop...and many of them are crooked. I think he called the police/emergency services because he had to, it's a fire and noticeable from a distance. They question suspects on why it took them a long time to call the police, why would a cop take so long to call especially if his life and personal property is in jeopardy?
      I didn't think of an ex employee or a current one, I just couldn't get past Tim.

    • @polkadots716
      @polkadots716 9 месяцев назад +11

      @@MsArtemis64 It seems "Tim" was scared since he was reluctant to emerge from his room even after LE arrived. That makes me wonder if the killers were somehow associated with "Tim" and he was their actual target when Maggie unexpectedly arrived. Perhaps "Tim" owed the killers money and they were determined to get it one way or another. If they knew "Tim," they could've been in the house previously, so knew what the family kept there. Maggie may have recognized the men and that's why they killed her. Even if "Tim" knows who the killers are, he may be unwilling to relay that information to LE for fear of retaliation.

    I’m so glad to see someone cover this case! I remember when it happened. Early theory was that a group of men where robbing the house (the stolen safe +guns) and Maggie walked in on them when she went back for the hot dogs. The fire was set afterwards to cover evidence even though they thought she was dead but she wasn’t she died from the fire. These criminals are still at large. Even the FBI has been unable to find them. I hope that with the passage of time someone will come forward. I’m pretty confident it was someone with a connection to their restaurant and knew they wouldn’t be home. I also believe some of the stuff they stole they have pawned by now. They are locals but probably moved to Denver in order to blend in and fly under the radar.
    I really hope someday her family can get justice she didn’t deserve this.

    This is grizzly...because bruning to death, actually bruning to death is the worst way to die...because in most cases of someone dying in the fire, they die of smoke inhalation, so whem the fire gets to them they're already gone. Not that it's good, it's still horryfic, but to be alive, when you're set on fire...it just...it had to be SO AGONIZINGLY PAINFUL. I cannot imagine how she felt in her last moments, or how her parents felt when they found out. especially with their history. They were refugees, seeking safer place for themselves and their family. It's always so tragic, when people seeking that find the things they were trying to get away from in their new home.

    Poor Maggie and her family. 😭 What kind of monsters would purposely burn someone alive?! In a town that small, I feel like they must not be local or someone would have recognized the vehicles or drawings. But how would they know about the home if they didn't live local? I feel like it's some sketch ball relatives or friends connected to someone in one of their restaurants. Definitely need to know more about Tim. I just don't understand why they would have to kill her, especially like that, if they weren't recognizable to her. I'm thankful she didn't have to also endure sexual assault before her horrific ending. RIP Maggie

Did Tim hear the commotion and just wait to call police? then he just sits in his room refusing to come out? just seems very odd.

    I’m about 1/4 way through the video and don’t know if tenant “tim” is a suspect, but I’m just thinking how awful he must feel, how terrible it must feel to know he was there when she was being assaulted and killed and he didn’t do anything to stop it… everyone wants to think they can go be the hero in a situation like that, but I complete understand just being afraid and not wanting to get involved. I’m hoping it doesn’t keep that guy up at night, thinking he could/should have done something while it was happening. This is a sad case all around. 😞
    Edit: after watching the video, I agree with Derrick, that “Tim” may be involved, because it seems so strange that it was like perfect timing and who else would know…. But I also wonder why tim would stay in a burning house if he knew it was actually on fire…
    Perhaps it didn’t go down the way they planned, Tim was in on it, even just to tip them off. But Maggie came home and things went awry and they didn’t anticipate killing her… very sad either way. It feels like a case that is solvable. Those guns had to end up somewhere.

    Tim told 911 that they were attempting to set the house on fire, but he was not leaving the attic? He has to have heard a lot of the conversation. Why would he leave himself in a place of danger, unable to escape if the house had been set on fire? That does not make sense. Did he have a cell phone to call 911? If so, did he record anything, such as the arguing or the noisy people downstairs?

    I agree on the 'no danger to the public' thing being premature and a bad call...especially since couple of days later they said the opposite. That the dude was armed and that he was very dengerous. so...if there's someone armed with a rifle and dangerous, then there is possible danger to the public.
    Also...I know guilt knowledge is a thing but when someone stome some stuff esp if it might be pretty valuble, then it's good to put that info out there, because that person will likely want to sell it or go to a pawn shop. and if pawn shops know that such and such item was stolen, they'll be on the look out for these things. and that's how you can get a break in the case. because a pawn shop owner or some other merchant or buyer, can say they've seen the item. and I feel that if someone stole a rifle, it might be kinda beneficial to know too, esp if it was used in a crime. because that is something someone DEF would try to get rid of. eiether by selling it, or by dumping it somewhere.

If I was in danger or thought for a moment I was and was waiting on police etc I would be more than eager to leave that hiding spot and get to safety.. why stay there? Was he hiding something? Cleaning something? Idk it just seems odd to me. Maybe it was friends of his that did this and he helped? I just think he needs a lil more attention

    My heart breaks for Maggie and her family. But I agree with Derrick for someone to know that house was down that long lane and had the potential to have stuff they would want is a long shot. Along with the house maybe being empty. The fact that 2 vehicles were there before Maggie showed up. Tim's and her father's vehicles and the robbers went nervous about that people possibly being home makes me think Tim was in on the whole thing. He would have told them not to worry about her Dad's car. When she pulled up and saw 3 different vehicles makes me think she thought Tim had company. She wasn't worried. She walked in on a robbery and maybe Tim was helping so that is why they decided she had to die. Or once they were surprised maybe one of them called out to Tim or said his name and she had to be killed because she would know that Tim was part of this robbery. That maybe why the police are saying they think they have 4 suspects because Tim was either the mastermind or loose lips that caused this to happen. By not coming out for the police makes you think he was either nervous or wanting the police to think he was so upset. What kind of a guy would hear that and not look out the window see Maggie's car and not try and help. Great job Derrick another awesome case that maybe they can find some answers. Of course I always think they should try and send the DNA to the genelogy places to see what they can come up with.

    Im so sorry for Gloria's family and loved ones. I agree that it seems the police weren't really thinking when communicating to the media.
    Also congrats on the double sponsor ! 🎉

      Btw, it amazingly awesome that you actually take the time to not just read comments, but take the time to reply and like! Most do not. Thank you for all of it! Means a lot to us that you do it.

    I definitely don’t trust Tim, I feel like he did have time to commit the crime hide the items from the robbery and then come back and set the fire & set his “alibi”. He texted the sister (around 2pm or 3 when Maggie was home from school) hours before calling the police talking about loud noises being heard, it wasn’t until 7 that he called police that’s 5 hours. Was he just hearing banging and arguing for hours straight before deciding to call police? idk it’s also possible it’s another person or persons but he’s very suspicious in my opinion. Either way I feel terrible for her family and her in general, this is a horrible way to go and she didn’t even get to really enjoy life before it was snatched away from her. I hope she gets justice soon.

    I think "Tim" tipped some people off and was aware they were going to rob them but when Maggie came home and he heard them attacking her he got scared and called 911... he probably signed up for robbery but not murder....

    I wonder if they have cell phone info, that far out, and for a few hours, maybe they would have phones in the same area as Maggie's, that then left the area at the same time.

    I remember the day after we had all found out what happened to Maggie during school. The lunch room was the quietest it had ever been. She was a light among our community and many of my friends knew her well. So many people in our community mourned her loss. I hope that they find whoever is responsible for her death. RIP Maggie Long, you are loved and missed

    Something seems really off with the police in this case. Not sure if they are trying to hide something or just being sloppy, but not impressed with their response. Also think Tim is sus.

    Its hard for me to believe that didn't have cameras anywhere on their property and house.

    • @Sylvie1710
      @Sylvie1710 8 месяцев назад

      Agreed! It's not like this case happened all that long ago. If they didn't have cameras you'd think that other people in the area would've. This is a very affluent and remote area. Most roads probably wouldn't have much traffic, so it seems to me that it'd be easy to pick out suspicious activity/vehicles.

    If this “Tim” was in his apartment calling 911 to report the sounds. How did he know someone was “trying to set the place on fire”?

      This was my question too. And, if you know the house is on fire and you're in the attic wouldn't you want to leave? Something is fishy with him.

    Idk I'm not sure if I fully buy into the theory that she walked into a robbery. If there really were 2 vans and a truck, that likely means that they were parked close to the house so the suspects could easily load them up. That would mean Maggie would get home, see these unfamiliar vans in her driveway and still choose to go inside??

    Listening to a police scanner, especially in a rural area is critical. As someone who is hard of hearing I don’t listen on the scanner apps, but that’s how reports make it to a few local Facebook groups. Which’s seems like a busy body thing to do, but in a rural area we don’t have a lot of news sources. That’s how we find out about fires, accidents, etc…

    If Maggie comes home and sees three vehicles she doesn’t recognize in front of her home, don’t you think she would have called the police or a family member? Unless the vehicles were parked out of sight. If that was the case, it seems to be another factor that points toward the suspects having inside knowledge before they committed the robbery/murder. Anyone else have thoughts on this?

    • @lindseyhudson1274
      @lindseyhudson1274 9 месяцев назад

      That's what I kept thinking. You'd think she would be wary of three unknown vehicles if they were parked anywhere near the house. My parents have a large property like that and I notice any vehicle whether it's in the woods or the pastures.

    If these guys didn't want witnesses and they had inside info for this house wouldn't they know Tim was there. They would've seen his car. So they knew everyone would be gone from the house but they didn't know about the house guest living there? Look more into Tim.

    It's also concerning that he was still holed up in the attic while knowing that arson was going on?

    Current or ex employee. They did it while the father was gone. They probably knew the father was gone and the mother was going to be at one of the many restaurants. I think Tim is suspicious... but i don't think it would have to be him involved in the crime. Because if it was him, he would have had people come during school hours when the daughters would be gone for sure. They were there in the afternoon and evening. People have more of a chance of being home at that time.

  • @robinriffle16

    This was not a random attack this was planned.
    Just based on the things that were stolen.
    Most people would leave the figurines they will take the electronics jewelry things like that.
    It was someone who had been in their home, who knew the layout. Who knew the value of the figurines.
    Like I said most people wouldn't know that the Jade figurines would be valuable.
    It could very well be a disgruntled employee of the restaurant. Who wanted payback.
    Also the fact that they assaulted Maggie and then set her on fire tells me that they hated her or maybe they just hated that family .
