      Sorry for the absence, I've been hard at work and training for tournaments! Zen Master of PB haha!
      Thank you Gerogia! I have to say I enjoy your comments the most, not only for the kind words and compliments but the intelligence behind them. I'm going to do my best to continue to create more instructional videos like this one involving all different aspects of the game! Thanks again, your words and energy are a boost of positivity and inspiration!

      Yes Liz, I completely agree, his teaching method/video editing/music is the most unique of all the pickleball content I’ve watched (and I’ve watched a lot ha).
      Thanks, theoneinfinite for providing these videos and the great tips. Are you playing pro tournaments? You definitely could be! 👊

    Thank you for the detailed instructions. This is very helpful to me - The contact angle of the paddle face depends on the height of the ball. Seeing you doing drop volleys with a wooden paddle gave me confidence to try it out with my beginner paddle. Excellent video.

    Fantastic video. But what really caught my eye was that two handed backhand swinging volley which was the first shot of the video. So how about a video on two handed backhand volleys? As a two hander I find precious little on that topic and it would nicely complement your existing video on the two handed backhand drive.

    Two years ago, this shot didn't have much attention for sure.
    I just revisited this video to say a thing or two. Two years ago, drop volley was not considered a good shot because the idea then was to keep your oppoment back by hitting to their feet if they are back. I wouldn't say that point is completly outdated but drop volley is a killer shot today for sure. You can see that in single play and double play. Collin Shick uses that shot whereever he can in single games and most of the time it is a winner shot even when he plays against top players like Ben J.
    The other day, I played double, the opponents are already at the net, we are at the baseline, and my partner drives the ball, the opponnent hits a cross court drop volley lands in the kitchen, we have no reaction to that.

    For forehand slice, not too many people talk about wrist extension to wrist flexion. The main reason is that many people afraid that by the subtle movement of the wrist on the forehand slice, it creates confusion and the beginners might swing the wrist like flapping fish. But it is important to know the existence of the slight write movement from extension toward flexion.

    • @theoneinfinite
      @theoneinfinite  8 месяцев назад

      @Rabit437 Mostly the shoulder as the hinge and the wrist must be locked back in extension position to maintain control of the paddle face. The elbow can be straight or bent depending on the distance from the ball.

    Hey, its been 5 months, and i think ive improved my drop overall. But ive had one question lingering, and that is, are there 2 ways to slice drop volley? The first way being to cut directly down on the ball and the second way is using your wrist to cup under the ball? Also for the forehand drop, you can chop down too, right? You don't have to always cut under the ball? Thanks!

    • @theoneinfinite
      @theoneinfinite  3 месяца назад

      Correct ✅ there are a few ways to hit a drop volley, the most lethal however is the slice drop volley because the ball bounces away from the opponent after touching down. Both the forehand and backhand follow the same physics, the angle of the face, the firmness or softness of your touch on the ball, and the swing path(if any swing at all)determines the spin, depth, height, and direction of the ball 😁🎾👍🏻

  • @Adi0-e8v
    @Adi0-e8v Год назад +1

    Another question, when you do a slice drop shot from high should your paddle face be slightly open or closed?

    • @theoneinfinite
      @theoneinfinite  Год назад

      Definitely slightly open to impart the backspin on the ball and to make sure you don’t give it too much depth 😁👍🏻

    • @Adi0-e8v
      @Adi0-e8v Год назад +1

      @@theoneinfinite Slower swing motion? Also a coach said when I slice dink I don’t want the face open too much since underspin will make the ball float don’t know what to do exactly

    • @theoneinfinite
      @theoneinfinite  Год назад

      @@Adi0-e8v yes that coach is correct. During dinks you want a semi-open face to keep the ball low with some depth, however for a drop volley you want to slice under the ball and take off pace so that it has very little depth, then when the ball lands it bounces back away from the opponent.

  • @Adi0-e8v
    @Adi0-e8v Год назад +1

    One question, when you slice, is there a wrist action or is it a fluid motion?

    • @theoneinfinite
      @theoneinfinite  Год назад

      The wrist is locked in a stationary position, creating a “V” between the wrist and the paddle.

    • @Adi0-e8v
      @Adi0-e8v Год назад +1

      I meant when you are contact the ball, is the wrist in usage or is it just a fluid motion without using the wrist? I’m sorry I don’t the I’m portraying myself correctly 😅

    • @theoneinfinite
      @theoneinfinite  Год назад

      @@Adi0-e8vthe wrist must remain stable in a “wrist extension” position at the point of contact.
      If you were to move your wrist around during contact it would create chaos and less consistency! 😊

      @@theoneinfinite THANK YOU, I thought I was doing my slice and slice dropshot wrong but I guess I just second guessed myself!

  • @Adi0-e8v
    @Adi0-e8v Год назад +1

    ANOTHER question (I hope you don’t mind) so when you are doing a slice or slice dropshot, should you start with your racquet face closed or vertical but at contact should it be open? Or should I start slightly open and follow slightly open? Because at 2:15 it looks like your paddle is closed but at contact it is open.

    • @theoneinfinite
      @theoneinfinite  Год назад +1

      Definitely neutral to slightly opened during preparation, then at contact it must be open to the correct angle 📐 or degree…slice or drop shot 👍🏻

  • @ehlai1676

    Would the drop volley be effective to block those drives coming fast with low crossing over the net?

    • @theoneinfinite
      @theoneinfinite  Год назад +2

      Yes absolutely 👍🏻 however to drop volley a low fast ball is no easy task but very attainable if practiced enough! It’s much easier to drop volley a higher or slower ball.

    Have you been working on the chainsaw serve? I got one for you. I call it the happy Gilmore. Stand a stride and a half back from the line with your weak foot forward. Holding the ball underneath with the tips of the paddle hand fingers and the thumb on top; toss the ball with a flick of rapid topspin about eye level high and forward towards the service line. Side step with the arc of the ball while simultaneously performing the backstroke of a topspin drive. Finish the stroke by making contact a little further out front than normal. Don’t forget to drive the right hip through the ball and follow through smoothly. You’ll know you hit it right by the sound.

    • @theoneinfinite
      @theoneinfinite  3 года назад +2

      You must have read my mind cause I have been working on some very similar serves such as the one you just explained. I see power in the extra flick spin of the ball! Especially when you spin it just right and catch the ball cleanly. It's amazing!
