@@carlmunoz803 thanks! u hit some nice cross court forehands!
hand behind back, for balance?
Correct ✅ You can also reach back further to provide even more of a counter balance effect for the leaning forward.
Hey, its been 5 months, and i think ive improved my drop overall. But ive had one question lingering, and that is, are there 2 ways to slice drop volley? The first way being to cut directly down on the ball and the second way is using your wrist to cup under the ball? Also for the forehand drop, you can chop down too, right? You don't have to always cut under the ball? Thanks!
Correct ✅ there are a few ways to hit a drop volley, the most lethal however is the slice drop volley because the ball bounces away from the opponent after touching down. Both the forehand and backhand follow the same physics, the angle of the face, the firmness or softness of your touch on the ball, and the swing path(if any swing at all)determines the spin, depth, height, and direction of the ball 😁🎾👍🏻
What is your main sport? And why are you playing with newbies when you are clearly way above their level?
Track & Field is my main sport. I teach Pickleball & Tennis, this footage 🎥 is part of a group lesson I recorded 👍🏻
You’re exactly right! This is the main reason I invented this game type, to help players realize the importance of kitchen play and how it translates to more consistency and more wins!
I love these variants. Pickleball wants to minimize the importance of power, maximize kitchen play, and create exciting and fun rallies. I think the end game of that is to start with two players up and two back, and start with a dink or start with a serve that must drop into the kitchen. Otherwise, eventually, the game will become about generating power and spin, and rallys will diminish accordingly.
Yes I agree, it’s also a great game type for beginners as it helps them build the correct game habits and really understand the value of the Non-volley zone.
Nice job!
thanks fraaaanks
Nice review. I will work on this. The Carry paddle looks great! I cant wait to try the one i just ordered!

with lob serve, I have a question I mean I know the answer I guess the question if for anyone to ask themselves. what do you dislike about the lob serve meaning receiving it? the answer if it's hard to generate power from it. so how do you cause problems with lob serve? just lob it back. there's no reason to power a lob serve, when you do that you're doing a couple of things 1. you're allowing the ball to have a lower angle of attack which allows you're opponent to return the ball with a lower angle of attack 3rd shot drop. if you lob return, the ball has to bounce which bounces high so 3rd shot drop is harder. drive is harder. pretty much everything is harder. 2. you've increased the speed of the ball, but not that much so your opponent will be able to drive the ball with more power, also they will be able to generate more spin especially top spin, which is my favorite shot, lots of top spin which looks like alot of power but the ball drops right over the net and causes problems, I force alot of errors with this shot. also because your return wasn't that powerful 3rd shot drop is easier. 3. most likely your return isn't going to be on the baseline so your opponents will be able to start to move forward. the best defense for a lob serve is lob return. if I'm playing into the wind I'm hitting that ball a mile in the sky and remember when they try to drive the ball and it sails out let it go. most people try to do this side arm hit it always goes out. good video
Thanks, I appreciate your input and analysis 🧐 very good points! It all depends who’s hitting the ball and who’s receiving it 🎾 🏓 😉
I like that you show ALL the shots a newbie needs to learn. I'm getting this paddle for my fiance. She's small with shorter arms, so she needs the longer design and the lighter paddle. Will update after she learns to play. Thanks!
That’s awesome I hope she likes it! thanks! 😊
Can you please post a list of the drills. You rock!!!
Thanks! are you asking for a list of the drills in this video to be written in the description?
@@theoneinfinite Yes, I think it would be helpful to you followers to have a list. But perhaps these are your intuitive creations and they bear no name or description. It could help to have a name to identify the drills, so one could go down the list. I loved your Tweener video. Very through and instructive. You are an inspiration!
Awesome, thanks!
Thank you 😊
I've done these while holding my paddle for a little more context. I've also reached down before changing direction and tap my paddle to simulate one of those desperation shots. Love the toe taps and variety.
That's awesome! I like how you added the paddle aspect to add a more realistic Pickleball feel to the exercises. Very creative!
Fantastic video. But what really caught my eye was that two handed backhand swinging volley which was the first shot of the video. So how about a video on two handed backhand volleys? As a two hander I find precious little on that topic and it would nicely complement your existing video on the two handed backhand drive.
Thank you 😊 and great idea! I will add it to my list of videos to make 👍🏻
Looks very similar to the forehand drive which you also discuss brilliantly. For example the serve and forehand both use the frying pan grip. I see other similarities as well. Do you agree?
I agree 100%! it’s essentially the same stroke 👍🏻
What an incredibly in depth video!! Thanks so so much for taking the time to make this! I think this is going to be a total game changer to get down on the pickleball court
Thank you! Proper footwork will change your game forever more!
That was sick 🎉
all the way from mid court to outside of the net 😉 🏸 in a few cat 🐈 like steps

haha 😂
But bro these old folks will get you runnin Ha!
was actually a younger guy that hit the last shot but u can’t see him in the video cause it cropped
nice!
Thanks! 😊
It helps that the opps don't come up to the net...having said that, you still have to execute the shot...and you do extremely well. Your ATP's are fantastic as well.
There’s a few reasons why the opponents are not at the net… #1 they are the servers and have to let the ball bounce on the return. #2 they know the danger ⚠️ 😉 especially when the ball is hit too high! Thanks, i love ATPs and drop volleys!
Mother of mullets; Boney-M has comeback to haunt us!! 😂
🤔
You float around the court, love the Ernie’s and drops at the kitchen. Thx.
Thank you! My footwork is coming along 💪 Around the post shots (ATPs) and drop volleys are some of my favorite shots ❤️ 😊
bro i like the way you play.
thanks 😊 glad you enjoyed the highlights!
What paddle are you playing with now?
In the video i was using Geornason Gpro Max, as for now i started experimenting with the PCKL pro series 13mm & Hudef Viva Pro Gen 2 which are two outstanding paddles thus far, probably the best i’ve ever used. Oh also the Zenith C8 is an amazing paddle too!

You’re absolutely right lol 😆 I make videos for fun + to help people. There’s this thing called a mouse 🐁 you can use it to skip forward in the video.
Im back with them questions!(im always doubting whether my form is correct or incorrect). Question is, what parts of your arm do you use for this volley? Thanks!😊
@Rabit437 Mostly the shoulder as the hinge and the wrist must be locked back in extension position to maintain control of the paddle face. The elbow can be straight or bent depending on the distance from the ball.
@@theoneinfinite fair, you use the upper forearm (elbow) and lower forearm to perform the shot? Or only upper forearm(aka elbow), Thx! The wrist definitely should not be used unless you are trying to carve the ball of course!
Use mostly your shoulder as the hinge. keep the elbow and wrist still

Not beginners drills
This is what I learned as a beginner 🤷♂️ I was about 6 months into the sport at the making of this video. I will try to make a new “beginner drill” video
Is there an actual list of these drills? I'd like to bring it to the court as part of my warm up.
There is not unfortunately. I will have to make a "How to warm up on the pickleball courts" video! Thanks for the idea 🙂👍
Is this legal? I take a 2 step run at my serves and would love to do this.
Unfortunately after making this video 4 years ago I discovered that being too athletic in the sport of Pickleball is strictly prohibited 🚫 😂 🤡
For forehand slice, not too many people talk about wrist extension to wrist flexion. The main reason is that many people afraid that by the subtle movement of the wrist on the forehand slice, it creates confusion and the beginners might swing the wrist like flapping fish. But it is important to know the existence of the slight write movement from extension toward flexion.
Very true 👍🏻
You definitely deserve more subs. Could you make a video on how to respond to different types of spin? For example, how to 3rd shot drive when someone gives a heavy slice return vs a top spin return. Also thank you for making me want to master split stepping
Thanks man! Hmm 🤔 ok yeah I will make a video on how to counteract and respond appropriately to different spins. Great video idea by the way!
@@theoneinfinite Let's go! I look forward to it :) Glad to help
Wait a second, your foot is coming off the floor before you have hit! This must reduce power and accuracy. If you change a few things you should be able to hit a lot better! Nor are you bending down enough. But I do like the change in grip and it makes sense.
Good point, i made this video 3 1/2 years ago…I’ve advanced since then and can see what you’re seeing in this particular shot(i may have been a little too athletic but i still have my front foot planted at contact because I’m transferring my weight forward)but the footwork is not the focus of the video but more so the other body mechanics basics such as the low to high motion and wrist action.
@@theoneinfinite Fair enough. Probably works for you.really well. I wonder if it is the right lesson for someone else? All professional tennis players/racquetball players/squash players have their feet planted firmly at the time of impact almost always. Provides balance, power and more consistent shot. But then again for some people at a certain age it might work to do it differently as it obviously does for you. Best wishes. I love the change of grip. Few Pickleball players do it. I do.
Maybe take a closer look at Tennis pros footwork during matches?
