Technically this is the first time, because the other times bi-han was corrupted wrath version of himself in the first 2 timelines.

The young Hanzo Hasashi is there in that final scene. In Smoke’s ending, he was ambushed by Hanzo, saw a bit of himself in the boy and took him to Kuai Liang and Harumi.
It’s most likely that Kuai Liang and Harumi adopted him since he had no one else before he encountered Smoke.
At least Hanzo would have a family who loves him and a clan that he would do anything to protect.
Hanzo adopted by Kuai and Harumi is so cursed.

My only issue with it is that it’s being portrayed so one sidedly that it feels less like a rivalry and more like a hero vs villain situation. Which I’d argue is worse because you can only really sympathize with one of them.
If Bi-Han were to die, be replaced, and the new Sub-Zero kept fighting on while being a better person than it would be a real rivalry.
I really want to get this turned into a DLC chapter or animated. The rivalry is just too epic

They’re literally showing us no matter how much Liu Kang tried to change history or give everybody a chance to go down a different path, the same scenarios from the timelines in the past repeats itself in a way, almost like it’s destined to happen anyway, KENSHI still became blind, Shang tsung still became a sorcerer,General shao is not *KHAN* yet but it’s obviously going to happen judging from his ending, QUAN CHI is basically going to be SHINNOK in this timeline I can go on and on, if you honestly think Harumi is going to have a different outcome and survive you’re delusional
Sorry Hanzo fans, but I love this ending. It's great that Harumi gets to be an actual character with agency, not just a prop that gets fridged (almost literally) to make Hanzo vengeful. Plus while one does not need to be a fighter to be strong, I love that she's an onna-musha in this version.
If she's playable in MK2 or just gets to fight in a cut-scene, that would be sweet!

But why does Kuai Liang and Harumi have to be lovers, let Hanzo and Harumi still be a couple with their son Satoshi being alive as well. Hanzo's purpose in this new timeline should be of a wise mentor to Kuai Liang instead of being completely replaced by Kuai Liang and have his wife get smashed by him.

So much this! Kuai Liang and Hanzo are their own characters to treat them as interchangeable pieces is not only a massive disrespect to their characters but also to the original Bi-Han who was a anti-hero, all of Kuai's work to redeem his clan fully and free his brother and Smoke.

@camh9780 yea I don’t like this ending the fact that’s it’s basically switching hanzo and kuai lang, then on top of that giving hanzo’s wife to kuai, that’s just a big 🖕 to hanzo. It should have been that kuai retreated to japan and meets up with an old friend (hanzo) was just beginning to be a leader of a small clan, who had a wife (hurami) but not his son yet. Kuai Lang and Hanzo co-found the shirai ryu and hanzo is expecting to have a son with hurami, thus that is the boy we see in smoke’s ending. It’s funny how every original character got a good ending while my boy hanzo still gets left in the dirt

That’s how it should have been written

Liu kang did Harumi justice in his era. Made her a badass that can fight off those who threaten her ppl. Plus I love the origin of the new shirai ryuu. But damn them n the lin kuei were just destined to be at odds. Shame too cuz Under Kuai Liang leadership. Him n Hanzo forged a peace between the clans. No doubt he will make a great grandmaster.
Now here is my prediction for mk2. We could get a hanzo Scorpion but Kuai would have to die. That would set him on a path to avenge his death. But I hope Kuai stays n they give Hanzo a new title as a fighter. N I hope to see Harumi as a playable character

Really happy for scorpion to finally having more time to shine and Setting up a new rivalry between scorpion and subzero is awesome and Loved the idea of marrying harumi and building a new clan the shirai Rayu and training young Hanzo Hasashi

I can see a prediction that when they bring takeda, cassie and the others hanzo will probably be part of that group and wont be suprise if this rivalry conflict with bihan results in killing kuai liang and harumi and hanzo becomes the actual scorpion somehow.
I might get hated for this but I'll say it anyway.
If think not the on writer's perspective, but on the character's perspective, liu kang, he knew that hanzo's fate will always be the same (even his titan alternate self), bi han killing hanzo's family would create an opportunity for quan chi (if i remember the character's name correctly), bi han is ruthless unlike kuai liang. Thus liu kang made kuai liang as scorpion and marry harumi to prevent this fate, in that, kuai liang would knew his brother's action, making it a problem for both bi han and quan chi. There could be probability that bi han will hesistate killing his brother. Preventing a tragedy by changing a fate that it should have been.

Bi Han has never killed his wife though. Quan chi was always the one who did. Bi Han is ruthless. But he would never kill innocent people.

We can see snippets of Bi-Han's morality through his dialogues, such as showing simpathy to Kitana over Sindel's death (even if she's wrong calling him complicit) in one of theri pre-fight banter, checking on both his brothers after Ermac's attack and trying to convince Kuai Liang to join him one last time before betraying Earthrealm in his quest for power, not to mention Scorpion had two chances to kill him on the spot after his betrayal but didn't.
Bi-Han is an ambitious man who will seize power by any means and whose resentment for his position and years of idleness allowed greater evils to corrupt him, but I don't think either brother would kill each other because Bi-Han seems to have weird morals where he will betray an entire realm for a chance at gaining more power but killing a specific person is suddenly going too far.

Hanzo Hizashi is still a young kid in this timeline. Found by Smoke and taken in by Kui Liang.
In the sequel, I think Kui Liang will teach him how to be the new scorpion while he takes back control of the Lin Kuei and becomes the new Sub Zero
Smoke adopted him during his ending.

Quick question, Scorpion says he want to restore the Lin Kuei’s honor, but he’s formed a new clan. So if Bi-Han is defeated are all the Shirai Ryu just going to drop everything and become Lin Kuei? Or will the good Lin Kuei all become Shirai Ryu? Because if the first it dosen’t make sense to form a whole new clan, just call yourselves the True Lin Kuei or something, and if the second your not restoring the Lin Kuei’s honor your destroying the organization.
Or is Scorpion going to leave Smoke in charge of the Shirai Ryu and take control of the Link Kuei and run them separately? (Somehow that sounds the worst).
Or possibly, the two clan just combined in the end once mattered is settled.
@@rajael1528 but then there are two possible issues: If they become the new Lin Kuei than what’s the point of making an entirely new clan if your just going to return to the old one as soon as possible? And if they become the Shirai Ryu than Kuai Laing has failed to restore the Lin Kuei’s honor because the Lin Kuei cease to exist and the only honorable clan is the Shirai Ryu.
It would probably leads to Kuai Liang to keep leading Shirai Ryu & give Lin Kuei to Smoke for him to take charge. That would seem more fitting tbh as a redeeming factor for Smoke to retain the tradition considering he became the adoptive brother.
What about the Shiray Kuei or the Lin Ryu

Smoke ending
He’s got adopted and trained by Kuai Liang, Smoke and Harumi.
They did meet the Old Scorpion (Hanzo), who is angry that his wife is dead in every timeline, and in this timeline, she married Kuai Liang. Thankfully, with Liu Kang help, Hanzo got reunited with his wife, in a timeline where she become Scorpion. Together, they fight along side to defeat Quan Chi in this timeline.
