- For the 35th in my "Death Of A Fluorescent" series I've got a F20T12 to finish off.
If you just want to see its final moment, skip ahead to 6:24
This one gave a good show, and it just kept going & going...
It ran it on multiple short "sessions" (anywhere from 1 to 15+ minutes), since it would
flicker/snake-of-lightning/orange-end-glow/etc, then stabilize. Letting it cool a bit
would make it 'active' again.
Allot of recorded video was discarded, and in this case only 4 short parts of the multiple "sessions" are shown.
If I'd kept all the video, this would be extremely boring...not to mention well over a hour long would have had to be put up into multiple 15-minute videos (that's the max time limit.)
And yes it was dimming the 2nd bulb on the ballast.
2 different 2xF32T8 instant start electronic ballasts were used, a Osram & a Xing Nan Lighting .
0:00 Part 1 warming up from mercury-starved pink (on ballast #1)
2:58 Part 2 flickering/orange end-glow (on ballast #2)
5:20 Part 3 (back on ballast #1)
6:24 Part 4 final session, vacuum lost (on ballast #1)
