Who doesn't love the fire and passion of Carmen , which is brought to life beautifully in the expert hands of Jonathan Scott. The superb filming gives us a bird's eye view of what goes into delivering a performance such as this.
Another very remarkable performance by Jonathan Scott, perfectly captured on video by his brother, Tom. And what an excellent example of a 'Town Hall' organ, to be able to equal, and even surpass, the orchestra in presenting this music. It is a privilege to be able to hear and view videos of this quality. Congratulations all round.
This is simply magnificent. The Fantasy is one of the most beautiful pieces of music, and you have given it an absolutely masterful, inspired performance.
Been listening to Jonathan Scott’s performances for years now but only discovering these pieces as if they were just unlocked for me...Thank you again!!
This is the way people were entertained at the turn of the 20th century. It was a regular Saturday night event to go to the town hall or local auditorium and listen to a ringer play transcriptions mixed in with some of the classical organ works by English and French composers. How sadly has the modern age come to push all that aside. This guy would love to mee Edwin LaMare. they would have done a Duo. Let's toos in Virgil Fox for real excitement. No one plays like the old boys today - Except Scott and Fred Swann. Or Danial Roth. Damn, that thing is out of tune.
Great comment - and I was on the point of disagreeing about the organ needing a touch up on the tuning, then heard it and not just in one spot. Nonetheless, fantastic playing.
What exciting music! Who needs an orchestra when you have an instrument and performer like this? Brilliant as usual.

I have come to the conclusion that there isn't a piece of music that Jonathan Scott couldn't successfully transcribe for the organ. Bravo!
How about The Typewriter, by Leroy Anderson? (Though maybe he could find a way to do that, too.)

I totally agree - and of course, the intention of the traditional Town Hall organ was to be able to substitute for a symphony orchestra.

For the love of Bach -- more foot footage! Pianists have hands, but organists add ankles.
