What fantastic fun to hear The Sorcerer's Apprentice played on the organ! Excellent rendition, Mr. Scott!! Genius! The fingers and feet flew hither and yon, the video play was sometimes blurring, Scott's fingers flew so fast!
I'm no organist and I have watched Jonathan play many, many pieces - but this performance looks and sounds to be one of the most technically brilliant if not THE most technically brilliant that I have ever seen. Words fail me.
Simply and stupendously stunning for three plain reasons: perfect music (Paul Dukas was one of the most perfectionist composers to ever have lived), played on a perfect instrument (the Bridgewater Music Hall organ´s reed stops virtually sound like real orchestral woodwind and brass instruments) by a perfect musician who once again exceeds himself in the art of faithfully rendering symphonic music on the one-man orchestral instrument that is the organ
I DISCOVERED THE SCOTT BROTHERS DUO DURING DE PANDEMIC. FORTUNATELY, THEY HAVE VARIOUS VIDEOS WITH CONSISTENT ARRANGING, PERFORMING AND TEACHING MATERIAL. I'VE BEEN SURPRISE EACH VIDEO AND RECORDED LIVE I ATTEMPT. AMAZING TALENTED! HIGH LEVEL TASTE AND SENSIBILITY ALL THE PERFORMANCES. ROBERTO OVALLE, RIO DE JANEIRO, BRASIL.
The Scott Brothers weave their magic once again with this fantastic arrangement, expertly executed by Jonathan and complemented by Tom's beautiful filming. Thank you gentlemen!
@Alison : it's been a long time, now, since I subscribed to the "scottbrothersduo" channel. I've always seen ONE unique player playing the organ, and I've never wondered anything. Until I read your post and realized, all this time, I had never seen neither the "brother" nor any "duo". :) It's because one plays the organ, the second plays the camera. Thank you :)
I can "see" the sequence from Fantasia as you are playing this. I agree with another poster that believes that Walt Disney would be pleased with this performance. Possibly more to the point, I think that Monsieur Dukas would be VERY pleased with this arrangement!
@@paulbrower4265 i've heard organ transcription from Debussy Nocturne pour orchestra, no. 1, Nuages. Believe me, that composition sounds like it was meant for organ
Thank you!! Pure genius, in command of a great orchestra! Too bad Disney didn't have this guy around when he produced "Fantasia". How about a remake? No, wait. How about Disney/Pixar selecting Jonathan Scott to perform all their future scores?
What an amazing talent to bring this piece off so convincingly and an amazing arrangement. Who needs an orchestra when you have such a wonderful instrument as this. Thank you so much for posting.
I keep having to come back here. Other than the obvious awesome talent, I can't get over how good that instrument is. Orchestral colours (Clt / B. Clt especially) are fantastic.
I think this version is a *great* deal *better* than any orchestra can manage. I can't see any orchestral rendition producing that hair-raising effect at the end - almost disturbing!
Phew!! What a workout that console gets. Interesting to watch the so many physical forces at work as Jonathan moves around to accomplish what the score calls for. The brakes (if there are any) on the platform are constantly overwhelmed creating quite a bit of wiggle. I wonder how far away from the starting point did the console end up at the finish. Another magnificent performance from this virtuoso. I very much look forward to hearing you two in the US one of these days. (PS - please bring one of those lovely harmoniums.)
All those darned mops and buckets.... where's my ax? Must be in my other robes. Seriously, the Disney depiction of this piece was classic and this performance is equally classic.
i think this is Jonathan's most incredible performance, matched only by his performance of Beethoven's 5th. It should have more than 126k views, but lacks visibility because it was recorded 8 years ago. It doesn't come up RUclips auto generated lists of Jonathan's organ playing videos, so unless you know it exists it's unlikely to be put up in front of you.
Remarkable performance; well registered/voiced. Absolutely spendid... But I think the moving console platform would drive me crazy were I performing this! :-)
I once played a grand piano on a raked stage in a theatre which started to move towards the orchestra pit. It was a bit of a race whether I would finish before we went over the footlights!.
When i listen this piece i watch cartoon" Sorcer apprentice " ( FANTASIA ) with MICKEY MOUSE, but with HIFI pipe organ sound instead of the old sound of Leopold Stokovski with stereo sound but 1940' s sound
Huge respect for the late, very great, Keith Emerson (and I loved spotting a quote from this in Rondo 69) but I am not sure that he would have been as fluent on the pedals as he was on the manuals.
Who needs an orchestra? The organ gives the mood much better, and the supreme talent of one person providing the whole arrangement is mind blowing!!
What fantastic fun to hear The Sorcerer's Apprentice played on the organ! Excellent rendition, Mr. Scott!! Genius! The fingers and feet flew hither and yon, the video play was sometimes blurring, Scott's fingers flew so fast!
Truly extraordinary. There are no peers doing adaptations and performances as good as the Scott brothers.
Utterly astonishingly amazing and totally BRILLIANT!!! Thank you for your utter genius!! Adrian in Bermuda 😀😀😀💝
I'm no organist and I have watched Jonathan play many, many pieces - but this performance looks and sounds to be one of the most technically brilliant if not THE most technically brilliant that I have ever seen. Words fail me.
HOLY HANNAH! I am so used to that (as of now) boring version on Disney's Fantasia...this just blew it right out of the water! Bravo!
This bloke is no apprentice. He's a wizard!!!
Yup .
Not just a Wizard.......THE Wizard!
Goose bumps
Only just found this. It absolutely blew me away. Stunning performance Jonathan. 😀😀😀😀
This was probably the most complex arrangement for low registers ever! Jonathan put to shame fancy footwork of Fred Astare! Incredible!
This arrangement is pure genius. Your playing is impeccable as always.
This literally gives me chills. What an excellent performance!
This wonderful piece deserves far more than 85 thousand views and only 1000 likes! Thank you again Jonathon and Tom.
It's excellent! You did magic with the music! It's amazing, congratulations!
This was everything I was hoping it would be and more.
Lost count of the number of times I have listened to this. Never ceases to amaze me.. Jonathan, you are a genius of music making.
Wow that is the best arrangement of The Sorcerer's Apprentice that I have ever herd. Jonathan Scott is a master organist.

Why are you shouting?
I have just heard the most convincing clarinet (including bass clarinet!) stops ever on an organ.
Exactly what I just thought. Awesome instrument all round.
OMG! Sir, you are a wizard!
Absolute stunning
Amazing work for a totally enjoyable rendition. Anyway, all congratulations are already wrote in comments.
BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO !!!
👍👍👍👏👏👏👍👍👍👏👏👏

Oh, my dear Lord! I don't believe what I just saw and heard! NO WORDS!!
It’s a treat finding these works I’ve never heard before live popping up in my recommendation column.Thank You
Wow !!!!!!!!
Phenomenal!!!!!
Pure genius! Absolutely everything about this video is spectacular! Thank you for sharing!
I've just seen this ... and I *still* don't believe it's possible!
Amazing performance.
Thanks for the upload.
It sounds so complete... Doesn't felt like a transcription... BRAVOOOOOO
There's something raw and pure that comes out of these arrangements of his... a nuttier flavor that pops out.
Very few programmatic works have ever been composed for organ solo.
@@paulbrower4265 i've heard organ transcription from Debussy Nocturne pour orchestra, no. 1, Nuages. Believe me, that composition sounds like it was meant for organ
what a treasure

complimenti per la trascrizione e la scelta dei registri e dello strumento, perfetto per un pezzo così
Mr. Scott thank you for being so excellent!
Magnificent, blown away as always by Johnathan
phew,,,,,,,,stunned. incredible
great arr. and performance.
Amazing! Love choices of registration, actually everything about this performance!
BRAVISSIMO
This deserves at least 100 times more views! I loved every second of it!
That privilege goes to the likes of lady gaga et al.
I will never understand that kind of 'taste'.
A smile from the first note. Now almost 68, hear this first when 4 or 5 years old.
Brilliant performance! I imagine played this arrangement by J. Scott himself at Notre Dame / Paris :))
Just watched it again!
I keep having to come back here. Other than the obvious awesome talent, I can't get over how good that instrument is. Orchestral colours (Clt / B. Clt especially) are fantastic.
Splendid!!!
If Walt Disney were still alive he'd want to re-master his Sorcerer's Apprentice sequence from Fantasia using this version.
As always, this performance is incredibly pleasurable. Thank you so much!
Great recording! Those soft registrations are so comforting. And the full organ is a blast. Well played.
I'm really impressed. Fantastic arrangement and performance.
BRILIANT
Absolutely spectacular!!!!
He is not actually playing, we have a whole orchestra of mini-people inside the organ playing.
Of cörse.
Wonderful organ transcription of one my favorites!
Oh, I just love it! Splendid arrangement, most excellent playing. Thank you.
WOW, wonderful rendition and great registration
Congratulations! Want to hear that live in Manchester sometime.
Awesome!
love the chord at 9.25 and the sheepish and sorrowful apprentice that follows gives me goosebumps followed by a kick up the pants!
Amazing video and playing!!! you truly showcase the organ as a beautiful and complete orchestra!!!
I think this version is a *great* deal *better* than any orchestra can manage. I can't see any orchestral rendition producing that hair-raising effect at the end - almost disturbing!
What an incredible sound. Don`t know which transcription of this piece I should prefer.
That was fun to hear, looked like it must have been fun to play too.
Brilliant! It is always great to see these videos, but this is a particularly fantastic arrangement! It is motivation to practice more!
That's so epic man

A tour de force !
***SUPERB!!!-THANKS A LOT!!!
Superb!
Wow! Jonathan, are you sure you only have two hands and two feet!?
Amazing!!!
But, I still see brooms carrying buckets when I hear this piece.
This song IS made to be played on a pipe organ !
All those darned mops and buckets.... where's my ax? Must be in my other robes. Seriously, the Disney depiction of this piece was classic and this performance is equally classic.
Brilliant

Magnífic organist

Next time they will lock the casters or shim the console!
Just. Wow.
He is literally rocking that organ.
Amazing bass lines.
I love seeing these in my subscription feed! :D
Me too!
The console is shaking!
The title in English would be The Apprentice Sorcerer (The Sorcerer's Apprentice in French : *"L'apprentis DU (=of the) sorcier")
Well done!
Anyone get vibes from Holst’s “Uranus the Magician”?
Pure awsomenes!
When i listen this piece i watch cartoon" Sorcer apprentice " ( FANTASIA ) with MICKEY MOUSE, but with HIFI pipe organ sound instead of the old sound of Leopold Stokovski with stereo sound but 1940' s sound
I like this organ
I WOULD like this organ (to own).
The brooms are marching everywhere again
Truly in the spirit of Edwin Lemare - well done.
Wonderful performance! I could picture a young Keith Emerson also playing that.
Huge respect for the late, very great, Keith Emerson (and I loved spotting a quote from this in Rondo 69) but I am not sure that he would have been as fluent on the pedals as he was on the manuals.
Explendid performance
Wow.. Playing transcriptions asks a great technique. Perhaps more than to play original music. Great!!! I'll buy your works.
splendido concerto !!
Le orgue est formidable. Oh yea so is Mr. Scott! Pushing envelope, Duo Concert with Scott and Carpenter?
MOAR MARCHIN’ BROOMZ!!!
I wish I could recognize what stops or ranks used throughout.
The dislikes are from those organ students that were rejected by the conservatory
chuckle chuckle . What a bunch of sore losers . It's not Jonathan's fault they can't cook .
They were trying to hit the like tab but didn’t know how 😝
Disney's Fantasia plays in my mind. I see Mickey and the Broom sticks.
