I get 8 hours of sleep every night, I eat pretty good and nutritious I would say and I work out very regularly. I can say I have never felt better in my life. I feel physically like a kid again in the body and mind of an adult. I do drink coffee though but it doesn’t seem to affect anything.
QUITTING CAFFEINE WAS THE BEST DECISION OF MY LIFE! I have been drinking caffeine for about 7 years in form of regular, daily coffees at work, at home, teas, sometimes energy drinks, etc. AND I've increasingly suffered from anxiety, depression, and unexplainable health issues like heart arrhythmias that my doctors had trouble explaining. After almost 2 years of severe heart rhythm issues, I finally started researching caffeine and its effects on the body. I have high caffeine sensitivity, meaning my body absorbs more caffeine than the average person, and then retains it longer. For example, one cup of coffee for me had the effect 4 or 5 cups of coffee may have on another person. I quit caffeine cold-turkey - all of it! Within a week my symptoms were entirely gone! no more heart rhythm issues, no more depression, and vastly improved anxiety! Yes, we're told up to 400mg a day is safe ... but for me, not even a coke is safe. But caffeine is such a widely spread drug that not even doctors think of it as something this impactful ... and for a lot of people that is true. I also learned that there is no such thing as a caffeine tolerance as there is for example for alcohol. If you're genetically predestined to be highly sensitive, drinking more or over a longer period of time will not change that. The negative effects will persist. Sorry for the long comment ... but if you feel like the daily cup of joe might not be all beneficial ... maybe there's something to it. For me, quitting felt like a new lease on life. I never thought it would have SUCH a bad effect on me.
It’s also important to know that caffeine has a half life of roughly 5 hours, meaning it will last in your system for quite a while after its effects seemingly wear off. It’s best not to drink caffeine in the afternoon or later because it can harm your sleep (even if you can fall asleep, it might not be as quality of a sleep because caffeine is affecting your sleepy receptors)
I used to have 2 cappuccinos every morning, and then oneday, i just stopped. It didn't even make any difference. No headaches, no difference in energy levels. That's when i realised that i didn't even need caffeine because it made no difference to me with or without. For me, it was just pysicological.
I had to quit energy drinks and overall caffeine 2 months ago cause i started to get panic attacks and extrem side effects. After 20 years of caffeine consumption i had to give up my number one motivatior
I drink coffee almost every day because of the positive effects I've hear it has. Personally, I feel more active and less tired when comsumed before a workout. Anyway, as always Great vid!! And ty for the info
Thank you so much, Chris! i really like this tyoe of contents of yours. Very educational. I've been trying to avoid any type of sweets foods and drinks, coffee and tea, get enough sleep, and drink more water for weeks now. and this is probably why I didn't feel any period cramps this month. I'm really happy!
I only drink 2 cups a day. But if i only get one cup, i'm out. In the afternoon i get severe headache and brainfog and can't get anything done. The only way to get normal is caffeine, some painkiller for the headache and 30 minute nap. Then i'm good to go again. If i drink 3 cups or something else with caffeine, my sleep is affected. So i'm really tuned in to my 2 cups.
Prioritize healthy sleep and good diet, and when you add caffeine to that it really feels good. If you have to pick one or the other, always sleep and diet first. Replacing caffeine with sleep and diet, for me at least, is when problems occur. Great video!
Coffee before a workout is never too good unless its just lifting - usually I do intense hiking with weight and I never have a coffee before or during some extreme activity - it dehydrates and upsets my stomach. I will use some small doses of pre-workout instead in moderation so that my heart rate stays level
I was dependant on coffee&caffeine for over 35 years( i wasnt able to do it in moderation) so i decided to stop and its one of the best decisions i have ever made(Every area of my life has improved) including my mental health, focus, clarity of mind, energy levels, stress levels, and sleep !!!
I was drinking 1600mg (16 cups) per day. I had to pull back on my intake becuz i was suffering from insomnia. I'm currently on 3 cups now, still working my way down. It hasn't been easy becuz of the withdrawals, but my sleep is starting to improve.
My favorite part, aside from the incredible use of stock footage, is the quote, "caffeine isn't going to do it for you". Excellent reminder and validation as I definitely found this out the hard way. Now, I enjoy just a nice singular strong cup a day sometime before noon to keep alert and productive and still energized enough make it to the gym for a nice sesh at the end of my work day. Quality of beans and water is key. p.s. Increasing my intake of just water has significantly changed my mood, awareness, and energy levels as well. I'm F, 5'9", 165lbs, and need at least 10 12oz cups of water throughout the day in order to have a good one. Dunno about anyone else!!! p.p.s. sensitivity* ;-)
I do take caffeine, and I take pre workout only when i workout, but if I don't really need it then I don't take it, but I still take pre-workout caffeine, and it's my opinion, but I just love it becuase it gives me energy, I don't drink coffee unless I feel like it
Hello Chris ima Coffee drinker was tea b4 I became a Dad started 2help me through the night and now I absolutely can't get enough 24-7 365 no milk no sugar
Another great video Chris - you got me beat though man. I can follow all your diet plans and eat as healthy as you - but I need my coffee every morning to stay productive lol. You should make a video on how sugary coffee drinks are terrible for you. I French press my coffee grounds - put a splash of milk - and then put cocoa powder in it. I got the cocoa powder idea from your channel on your dessert video actually since it’s 0g sugar
During my degree my professor was performing a study on caffeine. And he found that depending on a gene, people will either become stimulated by it, or others who might have a different version (not sure if mutation of gene) don't feel much difference. I feel I'm the latter category
Yeah I'm with you. I was taking pre-work out drinks, protein powder and creatine. Then I saw most of these trainers on here saying you don't need anything but creatine. So that's all I use now and I love my results. All that protein was making me gain weight and hiding my muscles. Now I'm good to go.
If you need caffeïne to perform well you are probably not getting enough quality sleep. Something very overlooked on this topic is the halftime of cafeïne, the amount it takes your body to break it down.
Great video always have a great spaceing on how you explain things and I just stopped drinking coffee for two days in getting results and this video pops up so thanks big help
Caffeine does have a small performance enhancing effect, I think it also depends on if you consume it on an empty stomach or what foods you eat, if it makes you jittery, it won't give you a performance boost and is more likely to make you anxious and unproductive, if that happens I'd suggest trying a different type of coffee and trying it with food and also you don't need coffee, there are other ways to boost your performance like exercise and eating healthy. Maybe try chocolate for caffeine as a treat and avoid coffee for some people, some people swear by it. It'd be nice if there was more research on it, but the research there is shows a slight benefit.
Ive just been taking one caffeine tablet a day, used to be on like 8 cups of coffee/energy drinks a day. Now the one tablet is fine for the day. If im tired ill just eat a healthy snack
Thanks for the insight Chris!! Love your workouts... would love to see how I can incorporate my weight vest, more dumbbell vids and more advanced weights in my routine !
caffeine + an ice bath in the morning feels like i’m on an illegal drug ngl, i recommend it to anyone reading the energy and overall happiness from the ice bath is definitely worth the pain and discipline
There isn’t much of a bad affect on your coffee if you’re not using sugar or artificial sweeteners. Just put milk and some cocoa powder in there (0 sugar) Coffee tastes stronger and feels a better effect
I used to drink a metric fuck tonne of energy drinks and coffee. Now i stick to one cup of coffee in the morning and preworkout when im working out after working a full day. I work with sheet metal which is a bit of a workout to an extent, sometimes i need that wake-up after work. However, thats always pre-8pm and i stick to water or electrolytes after then.
I stopped for a good while because of my anxiety wasn't agreeing with me at all but recently been having the odd cup of coffee again or tea with caffeine and been feeling that energy, focus and drive that I've been missing being off the caffeine when I do have a cup. So at the moment can't live with it and can't live without it lol. Think I just got to be real careful because I'm on anti depressants. So maybe 1 cup every other day or something.
If anyone thinks of increasing his caffeine intake after watching this video: don't. See a doctor first. The chances are high that you already consume to much caffeine.
I only love expresso Icecream, but only ones after something like two or three months. But I seriously think that it's a question of balance and proportions.
This is a really great video but may I please apply as your senior video producer to oversee the spelling and other elements which could be improved significantly. There’s a lot that could be done to make this so much more exciting. Thanks!
I love coffe but I reduce drinking it for once a month because Coffee hinder Nutrition absorbtion and makes my hair shedding too much because coffee kills the iron level
I don’t drink coffee, energy drinks, or pre workout.
Enough sleep and a nutritious diet keeps me going as well as exercise.
💯
aww lucky you that you have enough leisure time for adequate sleep
I felt so good and motivated before starting to drink coffee, now im stuck on an coffee addiction loop its so hard to stop it 😢
Must be a morning person too😂

Yes I relate this so much! 4 months and 4 weeks off of caffeine, anxiety is gone. Heart palpitations gone.
Too much estrogen not caffeine lol
Using this as my starting point to quit! Keep at it!

I had to quit energy drinks and overall caffeine 2 months ago cause i started to get panic attacks and extrem side effects. After 20 years of caffeine consumption i had to give up my number one motivatior
If u consume over 400 mg per day thats what happens to some people, its suggested to stay under 400 mg per day to stay safe
I drink coffee almost every day because of the positive effects I've hear it has. Personally, I feel more active and less tired when comsumed before a workout.

Crazy how I see this vid right before my workout. Always good to learn something new!
No caffiene here since 2014. Not a drop except for a couple accidents. Never been more awake or sharp in my life.
There's caffeine in a lot of foods, you shouldn't be bragging not eating it purposely lol
Prioritize healthy sleep and good diet, and when you add caffeine to that it really feels good.
If you have to pick one or the other, always sleep and diet first. Replacing caffeine with sleep and diet, for me at least, is when problems occur.
Great video!
My advise; only water, lactose free milk, and green tea guys. Sometimes a real coffe for workout when you upset or less motivated.
why lactose free milk? is it healthier than normal milk?
In general terms milk is very bad for your body.

Youre a great teacher Chris, loved the attention to detail. Keep rolling 🫡

Its interesting how theres a “safe daily limit” but taking a drug everyday will make you dependent on it.
Hello Chris ima Coffee drinker was tea b4 I became a Dad started 2help me through the night and now I absolutely can't get enough 24-7 365 no milk no sugar

If anyone thinks of increasing his caffeine intake after watching this video: don't.
See a doctor first. The chances are high that you already consume to much caffeine.
