Making shrubs is such an easy way to preserve fruit. I don’t know about you, but I love a good bar hack that saves me money, especially one that is eco friendly and zero waste. I always enjoy shrubs in a boozy stirred cocktail, I like the unexpected zing! How do you like using shrubs in cocktails?

MMmm tropical goodness
Would go great with Shannon’s rum!

Haven't try making shrubs yet, but I think you just manage to completely convince me. Thank you. Cheers!
Yay! They’re super easy and so so good in cocktails. Let me know how it works out
Hello friend!!! Your mango shrub recipe looks so delicious today! My mouth is watering! Thank you so much for always sharing your precious recipe! I'm so good at learning things that I didn't know!!!! I'll visit your channel again! Have a nice day!
Welcome! Thank you so much for watching!
Such a fabulous way to elevate non-alcoholic drinks and cocktails with alcohol. This shrub is amazing and it's a favourite flavour. I love mango. This cocktail riff on an Old Fashioned is a must make. It looks so delicious. I thought you'd need more mango shrub - but so interesting to see half an ounce. I am learning!! Thanks and cheers!! 🙂
Agreed! It’s one of my favorite things to add to club soda. Its quite acidic, so a little goes a long way. Especially in this cocktail where I am not shaking it, there’s less dilution. Cheers!

Very cool. I honestly had no idea what this was before watching this. This is a great use for fruit. Thanks for sharing!
It’s a really fun ingredient. I hope you get a chance to try one out! Cheers!
I used this template to make a apple brandy/apple cinnamon shrub old fashioned. It was great! I need to try this with mangos for sure.
Wow! That sounds incredible and perfect for this weather. I’ve never tried an Apple shrub. I’ve got to get on it
Very nice lk28🙋🏻♂️
Thank you! 😊
How interesting, I’ve never heard of this before
Aged rum is ALWAYS a good addition, plus adding the Kahlua, that sounds awesome
Shrubs just recently had a comeback. After the invention of Coca Cola and the like, they fell into obscurity. I love using them, but I also like really tart beverages
Shrubs are really good and you can use them in so many ways. Never done a mango one though and I am gonna try it for sure!
They are one of my favorite ingredients! I enjoy tart cocktails and beverages. What’s your favorite shrub?
@@TheWeePearl Well I love making an aubergine shrub! Do you make veggie base shrub too? They are great!
@@cocktailswithlele4042 I have! I really enjoy bell pepper shrubs- they almost have a peachy taste to them.
@@TheWeePearl I made it as well! I usually add black sesame and orange bitter to the pepper, it's delicious
@@cocktailswithlele4042 oh wow! That sounds incredible! I gotta try that next time
I saw a tip for peeling and separating mango pit from flesh by using a boning knife so you feel the pit edges through the knife.
Hello . Thanks for the tip but I was wondering how long this syrup will keep. I will definitely do this with muscovado sugar. Your cocktail makes you want 👏
Hello! Thank you so much for watching! It will keep for at least 6 months. The acidity from the vinegar will keep the sugars from fermenting. I do store mine in the fridge.
Ah, ok it's like lacto fermentation. I'll try your recipe. Thank you for your advice 🍸👍
I tried to make shrubs a few years ago, it did not end well. I'm going to give it a try again using your recipe.
Oh no! I hope this method works for you. Let me know if you try it out
@@TheWeePearl Will do!
👍18 here to see this delicious work.
How do you store shrubs?
I keep mine in the fridge. They last at least 6 months
@@TheWeePearl thanks
Hello friend👌👌
Your video's cool. keep it up
Friendship greetings
Always be successful
Let's be friends👌👌
It looks pretty good . But this is an ufo in France.. "shrub"
What this the interest comparing to classic juices, syrup ,or liqueur, puree ?
Hello!
Great question. Shrubs have higher acidity, so they will last longer than a juice, syrup or purée. They also do not contain alcohol so they can be more versatile for non alcoholic beverages as well.
@@TheWeePearl 0key thank you. Could i Ask you one or two more things ... Cordial and tinctures ?
Peeling mangos is a trial I go through once a week or so. I don't hav a better way.
Lol. They are definitely hard to handle once half peeled
