- Wheel In Motion dvd, live at the Edinburgh Castle. The song is from the 1991 album 'The Big Wheel'
All the homes on the globe are like the television in your eyes
A cross guarding your heart the living years a sacrifice
A shiver at the door in the night, clouds cross a black moonlight
Rushing on down to the sound of a turning world
There's a south by sou'westerly force eight coming in strong
Across the continental shelf from the cold grey Malin beyond
The need to keep control
The need to stand alone at the edge of the world
At the edge of the world
At the edge of the world
The adrenalin infrastructure bringing on it's troubles some more
All the laws of the jungle stranded on your latest shore
But the waves hold the healer force
The years disappear like a ghost
Somewhere out of the sight of the night and the light of day
Now civilisation groans and the news reel cries
Like a drowning man his life in front of his eyes
Oh the need to keep control
The need to bare the soul at the edge of the world
At the edge of the world
At the edge of the world
And the man from St. Kilda went over the cliff on a winter's day
At the edge of the world
At the edge of the world Видеоклипы
was it that long ago. i was a teenage bride and so in love. im 45 now, 15 years a widow. there never was anyone else, you lived as you died helping others. the honour was mine, no regrets you were always a proud gael and a proud scott. your heart broken wife
This made a tear and my heart sank.
My grandad passed away yesterday grand age of 100 he had his party he had all his family as far wide as Canada America he was proud Scott loved all runrig songs his passing is more celebration of his wonderfull life rather than sorrow but there will be tears buckets of tears love you papa RIP
When I was a little kid, my mum used to take my brother and I to Runrig concerts. I vaguely remember them but I was only around 4 or 5 then. This music is my childhood. Whenever I hear a Runrig song I'm back on the Isle of Skye, hiking mountains, drinking hot chocolate in Aros, getting excited to see the Cuillins. Such happy and simple times.
Great memories
Drove the truck many many miles listening to Runrig. Don't speak The Tongue, but love Gaelic music just the same.
This song explanes why I love music. Pure emotion, good vibes, just feel happy!
Runrig... you´re one of the best! I love you!
Everytime I put this DVD on. I can't help myself staring at the guys. lol I mean Malcolms hair. OMG. So awesome. Iain in a button down shirt.
Guys in mucle shirts and well Rory looking like he looks now. Does the guy ever gets older. *smile*
Awesome.
Wonderful, and what a venue! I heard them play there in about 1991...just heard about it at the last moment so had to sit outside on the pavement but still remember that wonderful sound booming all around the streets on a lovely warm summer evening.
Cheers! My late hubby's favourite! Means SO much to me!
Brilliant song. Certainly belongs to Runrig's best 500-600 ones.
His voice is so good and scottish!

I remember saying to my friend, I am the one with the white T-shirt on, when he asked where I was sitting during this concert when this was re-broadcast (or highlights...can't remember). But oh god he has not let me forget me saying this so stupid thing!! (After so many years) - Still love Old RunRig with Donnie! New RunRig has not got the strong sound!!
great band love them
This is one heck of a hard driving song!
Runrig are amazing. We´re big fans!!!!!
Me too, I must listen to even more
love runrig they are great😆
This is a great song !
It might be a good idea to read "Island on the Edge of the World" by Charles Maclean to understand what the song is about.
It is about the evacuation of all the people who lived on the small rocky island of St. Kilda and turning their home into a bird sanctuary.
Sad it became a bird sanctuary, wouldn't you rather have that than a refugee haven!!!
@Coutionor thanks for sharing this

Hail to the man from St. Kilda
who wrote the song ?Donnie?
There is only one Donnie Munro. EVERTON forever. We signed Mirallas today.
Donnie and the rest of the Rigs should patch it up and get back to being great.
