    Thanks for all the great info and awesome video. I am from south Louisiana and we fish mostly in bayous and small lakes. Not many docks to shoot but looks like fun. Mostly fish grass beds in small shallow lakes and cypress trees along the banks. Apple snails have been eating all the natural grass habitat and crappie have been hard to come by. My buddies would die if I threw back crappies the size you were catching. Need more conservationists like you. Looking forward to more videos on your channel....Keep on casting and good luck

    I have watched all your videos on a smart tv, but I am watching them again on my computer so you will get credit for the view... Your videos are the most informative and entertaining that I have watched ! I hope you can keep making them ……. I fish the small lakes within 30 miles from Greer. I will start using my side imaging more to find the schools if crappie. Thanks for the great videos !

    One of the best how-to videos I've watched! I fish Russell and Clarks Hill mostly for crappie, and Hartwell for stripers and spots. But you've really opened my eyes to try the clear water coves on the lower end. I've been frustrated trying to use my side-imaging but now I can't wait to try it again and to see your upcoming side scan video! Keep up the great work!

    • @ClearWaterCrappie
      @ClearWaterCrappie  6 лет назад +2

      William Jabour I appreciate your input a lot! People over look SO many fish because of what they think crappie fishing should be instead of actually fishing for them and finding where they are at. It takes work and burning gas but it will pay off for you!

    I accidentally came across your dock shooting 101 video yesterday. It was so good I looked up your channel to see if you had more videos. Just finished watching this one. It is as good as the dock shooting video. Great look on electronics with explanation. As informative as these videos have been - will subscribe as soon as I finish this comment. You mentioned a video dedicated to side-imaging. That would be great. I can see the fish on side-imaging that are in black area under the boat but have difficulty seeing them out away (to the side) from the boat as the fish blend in with the bottom on my 899 SI.

    • @ClearWaterCrappie
      @ClearWaterCrappie  6 лет назад

      Wesley Hughes yes sir I have gotten enough questions about the side imaging alone to go ahead and dedicate one video to it! It won’t be much fishing as I will cover as much as possible in the video! If you have any specific questions before I make it send me an email clearwatercrappie@gmail.com and I will cover it if I can! Thank you for watching!

    Excellent instructional video. I "liked" and subscribed. I got my first side and down imaging fish finder for Christmas this year, so I'm just learning how to interpret what I see. Please continue showing and explaining how you use your graph. I like that you tell what baits and equipment you are using. I would recommend that you always mention the weather conditions and water clarity and temperature. I'll keep watching and learning.

    Does you anchor lock on the trolling motor work good when you are close to a dock? My buddies will go crazy if we get too close. I'm guessing it's because of the dock roof blocking the sky even though we aren't directly under the roof.

    • @ClearWaterCrappie
      @ClearWaterCrappie  5 лет назад

      Geoff Statum it depends on the wind as well! The best thing to do is face your boat to the wind and let your trolling motor work that way. The older spot locks are no where near as accurate as the new ones! If it’s windy usually I manually control the trolling motor. Thanks for watching!

    great video looking to go down and fish hartwell which part of lake is best in winter time never fished it before? Friend of mine has fished top part near north lake in spring is it good in winter? Which creek you prefer?

    • @ClearWaterCrappie
      @ClearWaterCrappie  6 лет назад

      Andrew Royal any bigger feeder creeks off of the Seneca river or Tugaloo River is a great place to start in winter because of the clearer water and they are generally deeper. The north lake area is great for springtime when the spawn is on, but right now can be really tuff because of how muddy the water is.

      Andrew the easiest most central locations for you to access would be either Portman Marina or Green Pond Landing and Event center. For the Tugaloo arm of the lake Lake Hartwell state park. All three are close to I-85!

    Just found your channel. I had a friend in Anderson so been to Lake Hartwell and Russell well and concession (sp) but the lake at that point was drained. Anyway, working on a trip to fish LA, MS, AL, GA then to SC to crappie fish Hartwell, then back to Texas. Good video but also good to see how to fish that area and a reminder how pretty it is there. Almost a pretty as my part of Texas! :-) ha ha. Anyway, new subscriber here. Can's wait to watch other shows later today. Check out my channel sometime and take a look at the slabs I am catching in East Texas. Take care and have a great day! Good work Sir!

      @@ClearWaterCrappie Thanks! I troll for crappie, but am interested in trying jigging. Do you prefer deep water for this or any depth work? Keep the videos coming! BTW-I'm turkeyfootnc on crappie.com

    • @ClearWaterCrappie
      @ClearWaterCrappie  6 лет назад

      bareavis the depth is seasonal and depends on your extended weather conditions. Spawn to post spawn is generally shallower 5-25ft on docks and brush. Early summer to mid summer you can still catch them on brush and docks and bridges early in the morning. And dead winter they can be really deep as you saw on one of those docks! Hope this helps!

    Brooks which rod do you prefer for shooting docks?

    • @ClearWaterCrappie
      @ClearWaterCrappie  6 лет назад +1

      Jeff Freuler it’s easiest to learn using a 6ft rod with a 1/32oz jig head. I prefer a 7ft Southern Crappie Rod like the one I use the entire video. The 7ft rod has more backbone to pull bigger fish out faster and shoot further into the dock! Thank you for watching Jeff!

      Jeff in the video I am using the SCR71. It’s the 7ft one piece model.

    Great video! Looking forward to seeing more in the future. What type and length rod do you prefer for casting as you were doing in the video?

    • @ClearWaterCrappie
      @ClearWaterCrappie  6 лет назад

      The rod is a Southern Crappie Rod. They are about all I use now. In the video all I use is the 7ft one piece rod.The longer rod in my opinion cast so much farther and will even sling a jig under a dock better than a shorter rod.

    Hey , i do have a question.
    Are you counting down to estimate how deep your jig is?
    Thanks

    • @ClearWaterCrappie
      @ClearWaterCrappie  6 лет назад +1

      Hey Brett, actually I am not physically counting though you can each time until you catch one. I go for trial and error, each cast or drop down I get deeper and deeper until I catch them. Sometimes I will even then go deeper into the school to give other active fish a chance to bite.
