Chris Weidman is a UFC legend, one of my favorite fighters, really humble, respectful guy, he had a amazing reign as MW champ, loved the way he beat Anderson Silva back in 2013 and his incredible title defense against Lyoto Machida in 2014, good times 🫡
I wish more fighters would put out videos like this just so people can truly understand how unnecessary massive weight cutting truly is.
All you have to do is look at Cyborgs weight cut.
Michael I have & it wad hard too watch but Cyborg is a known steroid user so a lot of people don't have any sympathy for her. We need more videos like this bc there's a lot of mma fans who just shrug off weight cutting like it's no big deal.

artiew87 You understand Cyborg weighs like 165-170 when she's not cutting weight right? Michelle Waterson makes 115 easily cause she only weighs like 130lbs & that's how she used to make 105. Also no way Anderson Silva could make 170, I mean he just tried to make 170 not too long ago bc he wanted the McGregor fight & he couldn't do & Anderson is way smaller now than he was back in the day so there's literally no way Anderson could've made 170.......
artiew87 Also I'm not even saying get rid of weight cutting I'm just saying get rid of drastic weight cutting where guys are cutting more than 30lbs. Cutting 20lbs isn't easy but it can be done professionally & get done pretty fast if your nutrition is good & you're water loading & you're not killing your body doing it but when you're cutting more than 30lbs you're literally red lining your body & you're on the brink of death.

That was always my strategy making weight for wresting. I would get 1 or 1.5 lbs under the night before, eat a decent meal with a little gatorade get good sleep and be ready to weigh in with no issue the next morning. Most people lose a pound in their sleep at minimum, more and more as the athlete increases in size. 1.5 lbs under night before could typically eat like 2.5 lbs of food and drink before bed and that's pretty substantial.

Take the weight of every fighter as they enter the cage and present it as a stat.
10:05 that mentality is amazing! Most people can't understand the positive mental aspects of life. It is easy to think negative. Violence Drugs and Alcohol are a result of negative thinking js. Why all the hate for Ariel? Weidman clearly gave MMA Fighting permission to film, I assume he wanted to give fans an insight into his preparation - smart decision and helps improve his fan base. Serra and Ariel are always going back and forth with little jabs at each other, it's all in good spirit. Really great content, would love to see other fighters routine next time around and how they cope with their journey/struggle in the final 24 hours.

I liked Chris Weidman much more after this video. I don't know exactly why, I think he showed himself more human for everyone and this created some sort of a bond between him and the spectators.
