What an extraordinary performance of this demanding lied! The first half is filled with sturm und drang, then she must change tone and become spiritual and hear the sound of the bell in the tower. My only small cavil is that the pianist didn't make the bell sound clear enough in the treble. And the soprano could have lent the spiritual comfort more of a contrast from her earlier torment.

It is 12/21/19. She is better when she is younger singing like herself than later when she sounds almost just like every other soprano. The 'sound' still has an innocence to it. Most prized.........
