I REALLY admire how he took his time finding the right space and spot for the entry point of the industrial. I believe that's what makes or breaks the overall time span of an industrial piercing. I believe other piercers don't always take their absolute time with the placement since the skin will move.

I know it’s considered “bad practice” but I actually REALLY wish my piercer would have done my 2nd industrial this way. Stopping mid way and fumbling with another needle SUCKS, and I just think they can get the angle much more aligned when using one needle to go straight through

@@reeshamiller8869 I get that the angling is very important for an industrial piercing, but the needle is so much less sharp after piercing something. It's one-use. Two different punctures require two different needles. The risk of infection is too great otherwise.

I pierced my own upper lobe at home (with sterile tools and practices, of course) and it was completely fine. Granted, lobes heal much better than cartilage. So many different factors come into play: the material of jewellery, aftercare practices, your own immunity, how often you wash your hair and pillow cases, whether you have animals in the bed with you at night, luck, etc etc.

I got my 5th Piercing done three weeks back (helix piercing on my right ear I have 2 lobe piercings on both ears) and it’s just now comfortable enough to lay on without feeling any pain (as in a little red and itching but that meant it was healing)I still feel a little bit pain but that’s my fault since I changed from a stud to a hoop so it’s to be expected but yes, please take care of you’re piercings! I’m glad mine healed perfectly!

With industrials it can be done with one needle or 2 separate ones, its down to the preference of the professional.
The angling will always be the same if it is measured beforehand
There is no risk of contamination or infection from the needle passing through twice. The only issue is the needle becoming the tiniest bit blunt but it doesn't make a difference, its still sharp.
You don't see surgeons changing the needle after every stitch because it is still sanitary when used on the same person.
Come on people. Piercings can be done multiple ways. I do however agree the industrial bar is too short.
As for it being 4 piercings, lobes heal really fast due to the blood flow to the area, only the industrial really needs to be worried about as healing is an absolute bitch for them.
If it was an industrial, a tragus and a lobe then I would say it's worrying.

Those who disagree are welcome to do so.... even given that they have no basis in FACTS ... example when we do a running stitch suturing a laceration the same needle is used to pierce the skin as much as 10 times... also when doing interrupted sutures same thing.... BUT whatever they think facts wont convince them....

I just love the RUclips piercing critics. As a piercing artist of 22 years with tens of thousands of piercings under my belt some of these comments blow my mind. The forward helix and helix are the softer of the cartilage in the ear so the chances of dulling a tri bevel needle is slim to none... it's not like piercing a "tragus or daith" (as commonly called) of which is extremely dense cartilage that would have a greater chance of dulling. So with that being said there is absolutely nothing wrong with this process. Fine job Refinery29 and keep up the good work

It also was the first piercing I've got 😂

Well let me just tell you this piercing needs to be done with 2 needles not the same one I have my industrial piercing idk if I have a high pain tolerance or it just didn’t bother me because I had got it done feb 16 2020 at this place and they pierced me with a 16g and tried forcing a 14g bar in one of the holes then had redo BOTH holes again in one sitting so they repierced them both again but this time with a 14 g needle so my ear is going to need more than a year to heal

I was afraid of the needles too but I just said f it and went for it - it looks WAY scarier than it is! I promise! It was only like a 3/10 pain wise. You should go for it!! 💖💖

I just got mine done three days ago and I was afraid because I thought it was gonna hurt a lot. I’m afraid of needles but it didn’t hurt. After you get it it hurts a little when you accidentally hit it and it burns a lot.

Is the clamp necessary? I've only had one piercer use one out of all my piercings and now I'm wondering if I should make sure to find a piercer who uses them. Also, I thought you should also get 3 piercings at a time.

Oh noooooo! Besides the fact that he used the same needle twice which obviously should never be done, he left NO room for swelling! Does he really consider himself a professional?

My industrial is my favorite piercing. It didn't hurt at all which I am surprised by. And I the elastic on my mask goes behind the top of the industrial which gives the mask support. I loop the elastic behind it.

Try getting something dermal punched. That hurts like a SOB. My left conch was dermal punched to 4 gauge 8 months ago. It's healed now, but I still remember how painful it was. That was the most painful one I got. It took nearly a month for the pain to subside. And it was my last piercing. 28 piercings are enough. (Jan Griffiths).

@@tartaglia11thharbinger yeah I did and the ding bat that periced mine was unprofessional as hell and put bad jewelry in and the balls kept unscrewing in my mouth every 5 mins i ended up taking it out before it healed :(

    • @douglasgriffiths3534
      @douglasgriffiths3534 3 года назад

@@tartaglia11thharbinger I've had a tongue piercing. It really didn't hurt that much, to me at least. And I didn't swell very much either. It healed fine. I even stretched it to 8 gauge. It did start to erode my gums about 5 years in, so it was retired. That was 4 years ago. I don't miss it at all, and still have a 14 gauge hole in my tongue that probably won't go away. But that's OK. (Jan Griffiths).
