I would never have thought to squeeze out several colours to use on the one tissue paper, let alone have several values of those colours. Looking forward to trying this. Thanks for this wonderful tip.
Great info as always, Jane. I want to mention that freezer paper from the grocery store works as well as palette paper and is less expensive. You will have to tape it down though because it comes off a roll and likes to curl rather than lay flat.
I was thinking the same thing except it’s a bit thinner so it tends to wrinkle when wet. The palette paper seems to hold up better with the wet paint. Freezer paper does make great stencils and masks when ironed onto the substrate (waxy side down).
@@RsJaneP I haven't used freezer paper or palette paper for a while. I use foam plates now. They are cheap, I don't have to flatten them and I don't mind throwing them away.
Love those colours and textures, Jane, as well as the ethereal translucency of using tissue. And thank you for sharing the peeling part, it’s somehow satisfying to watch and hear (as well as do…at least for me). :-)
I came across this by accident and was delighted that a little while back I was playing with paint on tissue paper and thought I was being silly. Wow was I wrong seeing your video. Thank you for sharing.
I love earth tones. I'm an earth sign and an earthy person. Beautiful pages. I've just discovered how good the Blick brand products are. I purchased a simple Blick glue stick and I was surprised how much better the quality was compared to name brands that crafters use.
Wow what a treat having a longer video from you Jane - thank you so much. Always inspired by the things you show us. Cant wait to have a go with this - have just gotten into collage a bit more recently and really enjoy creating my own papers with paint and ink. This will be very exciting to try. Cheers, Deb T (NZ)
I love working with tissue paper, but never thought about laying it on palette paper. I’ve tried waxed paper and lifting it carefully in spots to help dry. YOUR METHOD LOOKS SO MUCH BETTER !! Thanks !! xx
Those are beautiful! I've been thinking about using tissue paper in my work but had to put my art on hold. Definitely going to use for mix medium piece. Thank you.
The neutrals are just as “gorgeous “ as the “gorgeous” colors but you’re right, they don’t yell as loudly for your attention. Instead, they kind of *suggest* that you pay attention. ;o) Lost you for a while. Glad you’re “back”
THANK YOU! Very inspirational! I am truly delighted by your work and your lovely video demonstration! I am wondering what kind of paints you use because the kind I used completely faded in time .I'm sure you are using a more permanent pigment and certainly hope you are because my masterpiece disappeared into the light!
Thanks for sharing Jane! Does the art tissue make a difference over regular tissue? Do you have a problem with them sticking together after they dry? I’ve had them bond together ruining both sheets.
Don't be too quick to think of them as ruined just because they don't turn out like you envisaged! Even papers that have stuck together and torn have uses.
Yes. I'll be doing another video on that, but many of my videos show my basic collage technique, in which I use matte medium as the adhesive and the top coat.
The tissuepaper is it the kind of paper we pack oprundet food ? Its difficult for me to see in the video and when I translate in google it tells me it’s the paper we use for lunch to clean the mouth 😳😁🇩🇰❤️
Tina Bendz in German I think seidenpapier is the closest translation. It is used for gifts inside gift bags, or sometimes stores will wrap clothes in it before putting in the bag. It is not the same as serviettes / napkins for wiping food from lips.
Love learning new techniques like this. But could you please work with your audio as the volume is so low I have to turn my volume way way up just to barely hear you speak. Thank you.
Maybe take away the fact that people may have different levels of skills and knowledge, and that it said right in the description that this is part of a planned "beginner friendly" series of videos.

Thanks for this wonderful tip.
When I am staining tissue papers, I generally paint them on sheets of plastic. Works like a charm. Love your neutral colors!

Unbelievably beautiful and inspiring. Thank you!!!
What you have done with so few neutrals is astonishing. Thanks for the color lesson.
Lady I’d go over a cliff for some of the colors you achieve. Just glorious. All you needed was your turquoise. Thanks so much for sharing.
I’m not an experienced artist so I’m constantly surprised by "new things." This is very cool. Thanks.
I came across this by accident and was delighted that a little while back I was playing with paint on tissue paper and thought I was being silly. Wow was I wrong seeing your video. Thank you for sharing.
Your videos are quite simply inspirational. Thank you.

Thank you for this! I'm new to painting and collaging and this was inspirational and easy to follow.

How beautiful! Thanks much for sharing!

Great tree bark!
I simply love this.
So earthy and beautiful 💗💗💗💗💗
Lovely demo, thanks Jane. Could I ask you what thickness/weight is your tissue paper ?
Lovely tones. The result is crying out to take the next step in collage.
Can you use regular gift tissue papers?
Thanks for sharing Jane! Does the art tissue make a difference over regular tissue? Do you have a problem with them sticking together after they dry? I’ve had them bond together ruining both sheets.
a trick : watch series on Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using it for watching all kinds of movies lately.
@Cason Mohammed Yea, I've been using flixzone} for since december myself =)
Don't be too quick to think of them as ruined just because they don't turn out like you envisaged! Even papers that have stuck together and torn have uses.
Can you use regular acrylic paints?
Thank you! Is the Dick Blick tissue considered to be wet strength tissue? Will this technique work on gift wrap type tissue?
Very inspiring! :-) Can you do this technique with watercolours?
Is the tissue paper had fine lined patters?
Awesome
Thank you very much for sharing 🙏🙏
I wonder if this can be done with watercolor
That's beautiful! Have you ever tried tracing paper?
I don’t have palette paper can I use wax paper or baking paper
Is this ordinary or wet strength tissue paper?
inspiration! thank you.
Jane, I could not locate the Blick Tissue paper that you used. I did search their website :(
Find it on my Favorite Materials page of my web site.
Lovely. Thank you.
Thanks
I have seen your artworks like these on Pinterest and I am loving them!
Question:
☺️
Do you attach with matte medium?
👩🎨🇩🇰🤔
Yes. I'll be doing another video on that, but many of my videos show my basic collage technique, in which I use matte medium as the adhesive and the top coat.
Cool!!!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🎨
Could one use rice paper?
The tissuepaper is it the kind of paper we pack oprundet food ? Its difficult for me to see in the video and when I translate in google it tells me it’s the paper we use for lunch to clean the mouth 😳😁🇩🇰❤️

Karla Solomon thank you Wery much for your answer, then I know what it’s 👍😁🇩🇰

And what was I supposed to take away from this??? 2nd grader art class 🥴🤮
