Clara Bow, Louise Brooks, Lillian Gish, Colleen Moore, Mary Pickford are the IT GIRLS of the 1920s.
Clara was and always will be the one and only It Girl.
maybe so, but the term "it girl" came FROM Clara Bow because she was in a movie called: 'It'.
Thank you very much for this report. It was very interesting. I now know something about Clara Bow and how to get more info about her. I'm also looking forward to Taylor's song.
Looking forward to this song.
This did not even touch the surface of her story.
i think the parallels are probably about the ending of her career and how she left the spotlight behind but we’ll see. this was the most intriguing track to me based on the names only.
You look like Clara Bow
You look like Stevie Nicks
You look like Taylor Swift
Clara Bow was the inspiration to Betty Boop.
Cool people know very well who Clara Bow is, thanks.
Shut up
Exactly
"everyone interesting already knows all the cool things I know about" 🙄
gimme a break. everyone learns new things throughout their life. it doesn't make you superior because you already knew about a piece of history that others didn't. you had to learn about it at some point, you weren't born with the info already in your brain.
I've always loved Clara Bow but I have a film degree and you don't see me sh*tting on new people learning about her. that's a good thing!
I'm sure you already possess all of human knowledge though, right? there's nothing "cool" left for you to learn?
everyone should always be learning new things, expanding their knowledge. looking down on people for not already knowing history from the silent film era is ridiculous. the average American, at the very least, has very little knowledge of early cinema.
Why can they just transfer it ? Would like to see all her films.
It astounds me that anyone would have to ask who Clara Bow is.
Totally agree.
I was in my past life, or maybe I'm a new soul because I don't know who she is
Why? She's dead why would anyone care but you
@@Cujo1999 If you have to ask a question like that, The answer is beyond you.
@@Cujo1999 The fact that someone is dead doesn't negate their legacy. It sounds like your incapable of any degree of critical thinking.
She looks like Billie Eilish
That goblin looks nothing like Clara Bow.
Nope - Clara Bow was a goddess.
heard it the song now and its about olivia rodrigo😍 wc
I heard Sabrina Carpenter. Which I think makes more sense... "You look like Taylor Swift"
Sabrina looks way more like TS than Olivia.
I heard Sabrina too
come on guys, way to miss the point 🤡 it's not about a specific new singer (olivia or sabrina), it's about how female artists are put on a pedestal only to be replaced for the next 'it girl' and it's a cycle.
@@rebeccavliet2011 this is absolutely ridiculous it is not and never was about anyone specific artist. Taylor even says what it's about on iHeartRadio. this is about what the industry does to artists. read the lyrics, the ones that say you're a breath of fresh air are in quotes because that's what the suits in La for example are saying. it's about promising to young girls that they can be the brand new thing and comparing them to whatever popular star there is at the time.
Taylor says that this happened to her when she was getting into the industry that they would compare her to some other popular female artist but say she was better for XYZ reason.
y'all are literally perpetuating what she's arguing against in many of her songs. "Comparing all the girls who are killing it".
if you even thought about a specific artist that she may be referring to at the end then you completely missed the point because she's not doing that at all.
@@marigolden_mariposa And you have no way of knowing if Sabrina or anyone had any part in inspiring it.
Clara Bow had more talent, sincerity, goodness, humility and ability in her little finger than Taylor Schwing Schwang will ever have in her lifetime. Clara Bow was a true original and Swift is just a wannabee copycat.
Now I'm annoyed because Clara bow was a beautiful actress with such a sad life and now she's tainted by Taylor swift. I'm so angry
Taylor is making her more well-known
Why do you want to gatekeep her, snowflake. Pretty sure she doesn't want to be gatekept if she was alive today 😂
tainted? more like honored. And now her name has resurfaced amongst the consciousness of 2020s youth because of a song named after her. So, how is that "tainted"?
You should be thankful Clara is now known by many bc of this song.
i didn’t even know clara bow was a person before i saw this video
