honestly Midnights sounded all the same to me but once i listened multiple times it didnt, i guess her songs are just better when you let them grow on you rather than expecting to like it the first listen
I'll have to listen to it again before stating if the album is the same across the board. It's giving sad girl pop, but I don't have a full opinion yet.

This is such a disappointing album. I was trying to force myself to like the songs as a Swiftie, but it was so hard listening to them. So many of them are boring and sound the same. The only songs I wanted to give a second listen to was My Boy Only Breaks his Favorite Toys and So High School

The aesthetics, genre and teasers of this album already made it clear that there's not gonna be any "catcy" pop/rock/upbeat/dancey songs. The album's main focus is lyrics and it's vibes are supposed to be similar to "dead poets society", with 'a poetess torturing herself because of loss of love'. So you can't expect a 'catchy' song from a such album, just like you can't expect a 'country' song from a rock album. But I get your point too, because many new fans & general public had their eyes on her next album. So she should have gone with easy "pop beat" songs. But she's her own mastermind with her own craft. She isn't the music producer and that's my biggest complaint because jack is the reason all these songs sound same. He should be dumped, Taylor please get a better music producer and a better person to tell you that NOT ALL songs need to be released. She is reducing her own quality because of quantity

I've re-listened the album. I can say that I like 5 or 6 songs, but it didn't grow on me like Midnights did.
As a casual taylor swift fan, I think she should take a 3 years hiatus like Adele, Lorde, etc and come back with something different because this album is so bland imo.
You may not be a fan but Taylor has risen to the level of cultural relevance of past icons like Elvis, The Beatles and Michael Jackson. It is tough for those of us who are older to acknowledge and accept this because of where we are in life relative to what is popular now. Having a segment on the biggest artist in the world on a morning news program as a lighter segment amongst all the heavy news of this moment in time really should not get your panties in a bunch.
Sorry, but Taylor swift is the most famous musician on the planet and people will tune in ONLY to hear news of her.Other news comes in second .even nuclear war.

A big problem apart from how it sounds sonically is also the length. It was too long. Too many songs alot should have been left out honestly.
