just tried the reforging and gemming on the ptr, for those who are interested on what items to pick: If you just pick all pvp pieces without hitrating (the gloves and one ring will have it, that's unavoidable if you want full grievous) than this gem setup and just reforging the ring with crit and mastery into hitrating will bring you to 2041 hitrating, which is the closest possible, since you need 2040 to get your 6%.
Crit is pretty nice, but a lot of testing has shown Mastery to not only increase overall damage output, but also for Destro it increases things like Ember Tap healing, which is sweet ^^
Cobrak. The Fel Flame change was for PvP. With the KJC nerf, people needed a spell to cast on the move if they didn't take that talent but since Fel Flame currently takes a snapshot of one's current stats and then extends one's DoTs with the stats, often times a DoT put up with higher stats would get refreshed with one with lower stats. As you can see, this is obviously a problem if movement is needed in a fight.
@Frawsty, Chaos Bolt is a 100% crit. Therefore, crit rating does not help it at all. That's why your crit rating percentage instead increases the damage of Chaos Bolt by the same percentage.
For BGs I think so ^^ it can be tough to push in and land Howls onto healers and other casters that will very quickly learn to kite away from us =] Also the knockback can be amazing on a lot of BG maps!
As a high rated lock i like supremacy for arenas and using shiwhorra with this helps a ton with the glyph but i only use this for 2s with maybe a healer or a dps without alot of CC themselves just saying its nice to have :D

I recently went Affliction 5.4. Yes, yes, I am a betrayer but I consider myself going back to my roots of SL/SL! Anyhow, the haunts have been hitting harder than my Chaos bolts sometimes (they are just not always gauranteed to crit like a CB). The overall dmg is steady and very easy to spread to all targets fairly quickly (which is why I see the nerf in fel flame). Have you tried affliction? I would imagine you are just staying Destro. Either way, I am melting faces with both specs. Good stuff

yes... i level up my thrid warlock and must say.. the time between 86 an 89 was really good in opvp and bgs.I get used to it not being able to run whiel casting. (sry for my bad english :])
Cobrak,even though i find you as by far the best warlock there is,haven't you heard that Kil'Jaedens Cunning isn't dead? MY personal opinion every caster has ONE spell to cast while moving for example shamans have Lightning bolt,mages Scorch etc,etc , so why not to pick Cunning even though you can cast just one spell while moving i think it still gives you nice mobility and i don't think it is worthy of switching it to 2 dark souls.
Well,you re right,but first of all,your highest damage skill is chaos bolt.And as you know crit increases its dmg so archimonde's darkness is a better option now,kil jaeden's cunning is a type of mobility that is good for affliction,since master yis still better for afflcition

Mannoroth'sfury and Rain of fire's nerf is so underrated, we will have to really hard time dueling exprienced mage/hunter ,and fighting certain combos in 2s in 5.4
a lot of times ember tap is best just as a hard solid heal, not a HoT that takes 12 sec to tick its full healing, a lot of damage can be done to u during that time which could of been healed instantly if u don't glyph for it

Harvestlife>Mortalcoil>soullink>BurningRush>grim of sac>KiljCunning with drain/siphon life glyphs and did ok in bg's. i did alot of fear>CBolt>drainlife, howl>CBolt>drainlife and MCoil>incinerate>drainlife. and juss kited with BRush+incinerate. I just wanna how u think this would fair in arena? really want your opinion. im actually kinda proud of myself for thinkin up something new for once but dont wanna commit myself if it has too many holes.
Cob, are you already using your naga? :) When I got mine, I instantly became a better destro lock. For you that won't happen instantly but probably will take some time. Really agree with this as a buff than a nerf. Maybe I should play some games without KJC in live now, to learn I'm not able to run and cast anymore! Cheers

Hey Cob. Just wondering about the new version of Soul Link if specced into Sacrifice. Is it still a 20% HP increase with the 3% heal on top? Obviously Sacrificial Pact is huge as Sacrifice when used correctly. But maybe in 3's where it's just constant damage, i'm guessing it could be slightly useful to tone down some of the pressure? Also, i've been unable to get onto the PTR this cycle. Would be awesome if you'd be up for a few BG's after it goes live to get used to some changes. Cheers!

Correction, you actually can't use Grimoire of Service to summon a Voidwalker and use its Disarm ability. I specced that talent spefically for that purpose, and found that your secondly summoned demon doesn't come with an action bar, and only casts its base attack and one other special ability belonging to it, and Disarm isn't one of these. Void Walker will cast his threat generator ability. This was very disappointing, and as I looked around at the abilities the other demons casted, I found I had no need for this talent. I play succubus, so have no need to summon a second one for its Seduce ability. IMO, better to take one of the other talents because of this impairment. I take Supremacy for the sustained damage increase, and because sacrifice can tend to be complicated and add a whole nother layer to your gameplay, and just another thing to worry about.
Hey Cobrak do you think the new AD will mean that WLS will become super strong again? I mean warriors got their cd's buffed iirf so that Bladestorm has a 1 min cd like Bloodbath. I'm thinking that this will basically allow WLS to have burst every 1 minute if you simply save your Dark Soul and line it up with your Warrior's cd. What's your thoughts?
What do you think about the use of professions in PvP? I noticed you're using the utility based ones, eng and tailoring, but, since you can't use nets, boots, or glider in arenas; would you think having base int professions (ex. int ring enchant, bs sockets, etc.) be better or worse than the lightweave proc and on use eng gloves? I ask because I'm not too great of a player and I get flustered trying to find places on my bars to bind so many necessary spells. Thanks /salute

Hello Cobrak. I see you're using a meta gem that gives movement speed increase, and then again you're enchanting movement speed on your boots. Since im guessing you're well aware that the MS doesnt stack, do you use it only because of the mastery? or would it be worth using the burning meta? or a meta that reduces stuns/silences?
What happened to the 3% Crit Meta gem? I see you using 432 Mastery+ movement speed incr. Meta instead. Is it worth it more now? Also don't you keep a certain amount of haste so your attacks aren't too slow?
With the Grimoire you're picking for BGs, Supremacy, I'm aware you can have the same pet out twice; does that mean you can double CC? ie, if I have Succy out and CC somebody, can I use the Grimoire to CC a second target as well?
Is it smart to cast to consecutive chaosbolt with grimoire of sacrifice? I always have the impression that the second chaosbolt hits before the cb-dot of the first cb has timed out- so do i lose at least some damage of GoS there? I usually use KJ- cunning as it's often quite useful to be more agile in PvP (kiting melees, los- outplay...)
I feel the nerf to kil'jaden's cunning was more than needed tbh. I don't feel as if i should be COMPLETELY mobile as a caster in general. Unless my spells are instant casts. Yes we need mobility, but complete control over other classes? No.
Jup, you shouldn't waste time on drain life, especially now you can't channel it while running. + it makes you vurnerable for shadow school lockout. An active heal every 2 minutes is just way better.

New 90 and this guide is extremely helpful. Thank you. Doing 77k (in 5 mans) with 470 ilvl so I have alot more learning and practice to do.

from what i heard on AJ, locks are top class.
it truly depends on who is playing, any class/spec can counter any other class/spec aslong a you know what to do

before clicking the "show" button in reforge lite, you'll want to click calculate, or the stats there wont have changed

It's gona be interesting getting used to not casting while moving since I levelled in 5.2/5.3.but I say bring it on!

Sac SL still gives 20% Max Health increase, but without the 3% Heal off Damage... i find it kinda sad but we know Blizz...

Also another positive about losing Kil'jaeden's is that we can fake cast again!
