I remember watching this back in 2011 when I was still 12 going on 13 and thinking this was actually Kid Cudi. I haven't watched this video since that year, so it's only today, right now, that I'm finding out that's actually Basquiat and not Cudi playing Basquiat. Wow, lol. Thank you for this though! For the past 7 years I've constantly thought of this video because I always loved it. Glad it happened to be a suggestion under a video I was watching before this, lol.
It’s uncanny how similar Cudi and Basquiat look, you’d think they’d be related due to them both being afro-latino, and not to mention the way they express their art, one with graffiti and one with music. It’s a small world forsure
Basquiat wasn't just a graffiti artist. And I just can't see the similarities in JMB & Kid Cudi's looks. They probably do look similar but I just can't see it. Both men are so beautiful .❤❤
If this message gets back to kid cudi it would be great. I just had a conversation with one of my customers at my store and she told me that you performed in Boston 2 weeks ago. She told me her son had a " make a wish" wish and his wish was to meet you and you made his wish come true. His name is Austin from Pennsylvania. Yo kid Cudi thanks for making Austins wish come true to life. Much respect for that to the fullest. Keep up the hard work and keep making great music. Peace.
Kid Cudi makes the most beautiful music today. Hands down. If I'm ever having turmoil in my life, going through something or need help, listening to a Kid Cudi song makes everything better.
This song makes everything in life that much more sad, as soon as the song comes on my stomach tenses and i fight to hold back tears, the song is just so good and makes your feelings that much more intense that you cant help but to listen to it over and over again even if it means feeling miserable while you do it...
This video helped me love the song so much more back then that I used it as presentation material for an AP English research paper on the Bell Jar. It got high praise from the class and even put my teacher on to Cudi in a demographic that'd have probably would have not listened to him otherwise
The beginnings are followed by an end, in the in-between time I'm not running or hiding. See things do come around, and make sense eventually. Things do come around, but some things trouble me ; The people I met and the places I been, are all what made me the man Im so proudly am.
the radiant child and mr rager could be twins, same voice, same mannerism, both of them artistic, theres something about the fact that theyre so alike that makes this video so supernatural...
Came back to this cause the announcer on the Brooklyn Nets game said their jerseys are inspired by Basquiat and it reminded me of this awesome video for GHOST!
this song made me cry, basquiat is one of the biggest inspirations in life im manic depressive ive gone through millions of hateful and disgusting step dads who are abusive and i have suffered heavy addiction,an im only in highschool. every day i wake up and say dad wat would it have been like with you here. then paint and draw and get lost in my work and then at the end of the day i take a puff of some green and say didnt need em anyways
Just realized the thumbnail is the album cover for Japan's album which the song ghost is on ironically one of my other all-time favorite artist gotye did a cover of that song
Kid Cudi is gonna be one of those musicans who end up gettin' assasinated for makin' the most amazing music ever heard... and if that happens i'm goin' to cry for days...
I thought it was kid cudi until I read the comments the resemblance is uncanny and also I need to become more culturally literate I'm sad I did not know this lol
@emagicz Wow, thats so true dude. I didnt think anyone else really felt that way. Alot of cudis songs do that to me, but i still listen to them cuz the lyrics reach out to me so much. Cudi's the man!
@TripThaShoelace That would be awesome, they should play more Cudi here in San Antonio in general, I would start listening to the radio more. All the rap stations here play all the same stuff.
this video is so creepy, bcuz that's not even Kid Cudi! It's Jean-Michael Basquiat! That's not the creepy thing. The lyrics parallel the video. For instance, @ 0:35 where the doctor tells him "Get it thru your big head, you were so close to being dead!" Excellecent!! Both Jean Michael Basquiat and his reincarnation, Kid Cudi.
My favorite artist and my favorite rapper couldn’t get any better then this! (Unless Kid Cudi played Basquiat in a movie 🤯)
It's too late for that role, Basquiat died at 28 Cudi is like 36
This song and this music video have meant the world to me for years and years. Nostalgia is a trip man.
Alexandra Cornell the good old days
Here in 2023 from Zambia. First time, this is beautiful. This song is my favorite off this album.
I just found this song today. I’ve played it over a million times.
Cudi was Basquiat in his past life, soo many parallels between the two
this video is a gem btw
Four years later I still love this video
Try 10

It’s uncanny how similar Cudi and Basquiat look, you’d think they’d be related due to them both being afro-latino, and not to mention the way they express their art, one with graffiti and one with music. It’s a small world forsure
Jimmi Hendrix looks like Cudi too hes like a combo of both him and ~Basquiat
Basquiat wasn't just a graffiti artist. And I just can't see the similarities in JMB & Kid Cudi's looks. They probably do look similar but I just can't see it. Both men are so beautiful .❤❤
This dude got me through the hardest break up of my life. Props to you Cudi!! Your the man!!

And the subject of the clip fits well the mood of the song.

this song live... words cant explain... goosebumps all over
0:38, can relate to that facial expression, just being the good kid in a mad world. Kinda takes away your light after a while.
The beginnings are followed by an end, in the in-between time I'm not running or hiding. See things do come around, and make sense eventually. Things do come around, but some things trouble me ; The people I met and the places I been, are all what made me the man Im so proudly am.
