Racing at 14,000ft: A Pike's Peak Story

  • With the Vibrant Performance Time Attack Civic prepped for the 97th running Pike's Peak Hill Climb, the team makes it out to the week-long journey to race to the top of Pike's Peak. The 14,110 foot trek to the top of the mountain is a arguably one of the most stressful races. With less air density at the top, higher boiling points and constant changing climate - the race doesn't only require driver skill to navigate the 156+ turns but the biggest challenge is having a car that is reliable enough to take you there. Will Au-Yeung takes us through the journey that not many achieve: completing the race to the summit.

    136°C isn't that bad for oil temps... I regularly run in the 140's on track in my miata...
