  • What does the Bible say about Body Piercings? Is Body Modification a Sin? Questions about what the Bible says about tattoos and piercings are ever increasing. To answer questions like, are piercings a sin, or can a Christian get a piercing, we need to turn to what the Bible say about these topics, not what culture believes. In this video, Pastor Nelson with Bible Munch answers these questions from a biblical perspective.

But the best example of the word of God is 1 John 2:15-16 if you love the things of the world the love of the father is not in you for the love of the world is the lust of the flesh lust of the eye and the pride of life so if you're more interesting in keeping up with your peers by piercing and tattoos and different color hair you are loving the world The Babylon system and the Holy Spirit Will convict you he will not hassle you but he will convict you of it and it's up to you that's going to be the bad part on Judgment Day when we stand before our God and everything that we've done we allowed it

???I like the way I look in pierced ears. I could not care less what my friends do. At age 73, I’m well beyond that phase of life! I wear three small studs in each lobe to match my clothing or for dress-up occasions, to look beautiful, to honor Our Lord. But if I should be in a situation where others found them unGodly or they carried an unedifying cultural statement, then I can always remove them, unlike a tattoo or stretched out lobes, split tongues like snakes, modifications that require laser treatments or surgery to undo? There’s no mutilation involved, and what do earrings have to do with the deceased?

Thank you for this video. I was wondering how getting earrings is acceptable but then tattoos are wrong? I agree that some modifications can go too far with pointed ears and tongues slit, etc. I believe modifications if it’s right or wrong comes from the intention of it.

"It's not what goes into the body that defiles a person, but what comes out of the heart" (Matthew 15:11). Our focus should be on inner purity, love, and kindness
I refuse to believe what my fellow brothers and sisters on this planet says for now i cling to my interpretation because that best i can do and wait for Jesus to reveal the truth

Part of this message to us today is that what our culture thinks and how they perceive things is important. If some clothing or jewelry or body decoration would associate us with the pagan world, it should not be done. This is a difficult line to draw because the standards of culture are always changing. Some modern examples of changing standards are hair length and earrings for men.

I think one thing that you have to remember is body piercings are not permanent I’m not saying that that means it’s OK in anyway or that it’s a way out and doing it but saying that it’s a permanent modification isn’t true tattoos are for sure

    • @Really_Roby
      @Really_Roby 2 года назад +6

The connotation in that verse shows that it was entirely for adornment, and not a moral determinant.
So again, not wrong to have one ✌🏽

@@Really_Roby Ezekiel 16:12 KJV "And I Put a jewel on your forehead, and earrings in your ears, and a beautiful crown upon your head." (I took out the "thy & "thine") The "jewel on your forehead" is a symbol of possession, and means that Israel belonged solely to the Lord; The "earrings in your ears" signifies that they were to hear only His voice, and "a beautiful crown upon your head", was to show Israel as the head of all nations. When interpreting the Bible, first we have to have a word for word translation and not some man's paraphrase or book of omissions and changes. When trying to interpret the Bible, we have to take the whole Bible into consideration. The New & Old Testament. The Old Testament was fulfilled when Christ Jesus came on the scene. The Saints and Prophets in the Old Testament didn't have the Holy Spirit abiding in them. That didn't happen until Jesus was ascended into heaven to be with the Heavenly Father. What once was okay in the Old Testament is not necessarily okay in the New Testament because Jesus Christ took our sins away, but only for those that will follow Him and accept Him as their personal savior. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER BELIEVES in HIM should not perish, but have Everlasting Life." What does this have to do with the topic? Who gets piercings? Who gets tattoos? Before giving our life to Christ it's fine to get those things. We're in the world, looking like the world, acting like the world, talking like the world, with our big bad self. But the Bible tells us that we are like our father, the devil. Look again at those who get these piercings and tattoos. If they come to Christ, they can't remove the tattoos, but we accept them because we were once sinners as they were, but that does not justify a Christian to get tattoos. Sin is sin. But the piercings should be removed once you come to Christ. We love the sinner, but we do hate the sin. Obedience to GOD is better than sacrifice. Come out from among them and be you separate. Separate from the world in your heart and in spirit, in your dress, in all your ways and be like Christ. I love you brother, I didn't mean to give you a sermon, but here it is anyway. I just pray you search the Scriptures with open eyes and an open heart. I used to be one of those pierced sort of people. But thanks be to GOD, I am Saved, I am Saved , I am Saved! :D Test the spirits to see if they be of GOD. After searching New Testament Scripture, do you really believe that the Holy Spirit would give you the thumbs up? :/

@@vondagreen640 "The Bible tells us that we are like our father, the devil." Yeah, speak for yourself. I serve a living God. *God* is my father.
Piercings are not sin, even after reading the new testament. They are simply an adornment. Nothing to do with morals or character unless you allow it to. They don't determine behavior so having jewelry does not automatically translate to "being a bad self" and "looking like the world."
Also, the New Testament says you will know them by their fruit, not their piercings etc. Look for how you treat people. Look for how you respond to things. And most importantly: look inward, within yourself. If you can honestly say that you are walking with the Lord, no amount of jewelry or drawing will change that. Those are inanimate objects.
Now if you personally are convicted and you don't think a piercing is "Christian" then that's okay. You're perfectly free not to get one :)

I appreciate that but I'm a biological female and I am saved. Thanks 😊

I am gauged. I hit one inch. I am absolutely done! I
My conviction is to not go past 1in. My husband said 1in is the line. So I don't have his "yes" to go past 1in. And I am fine with that.
I would be in the wrong to go past 1in.
I think it's a personal conviction issue. I have had the conviction to not go to Starbucks and target. Both support killing babies. Both support the gender confusion, even for kids. I support neither. I do what I can to not fund these. I know christians that still go to both these places and don't know or seemingly don't care

Agreed, though if the obgyn knows that the child will be born in a way that will cause the child to suffer it's whole life, that's when an abortion is acceptable so the child won't be in misery for the rest of his or her life. Otherwise you're just being selfish. I agree with everything else
