I'm a Londoner and I've not heard once, of a person in my life who has mentioned that they would want to live in that area, the only people who live in Canary Wharf are high paid overseas business workers who have their companies pay for the rent as part of their compensation package or companies renting out accommodations for clients for overnight stays.
For £3500 a month, you can get a much nicer apartment/flat closer to central London.

Totally agree! I’m Norf London born and bred and don’t know one Londoner that’s ever moved to this location and trust me I have pals that have smashed it financially. My Mrs had a friend that moved there so went to check it out- it was a full on international market of residents no Brits at all from what I saw. At night it’s soulless- empty streets no shops just roads full of high rise office blocks and apartments. Not for me!!!

You sound a tad prejudiced, your comment on the building aesthetic is just pathetic. Prices typically reflect demand and people tend to be willing to pay for a view. Maybe you aren't the market the developer is going for? The business district is certainly vibrant in the week pre lockdown. It also has plenty enough of interesting history unlike most business districts around the world. Greenwich Town that unesco world heritage site is what? An 8 minute dlr ride or a 20 minute cycle away. That would be exceptional travel distance for living in any small European city. The river makes a great way to cycle or go by boat into the West End too. You even have the world's most popular concert venue one tube stop away.

@@officialhannahrowe nah this channel was not always catered to the most aspirational among us. Some people watch videos on this channel to see affordable houses that they see themselves living in come the future, which is imo respectfully aspirational in today's climate and not at all a broke-mindset. Plus, imagining yourself living in some elite rich person's life instead of what your life can realistically provide for you is more typically a "broke" mindset.

@@TheStoicBrowser we shall agree to disagree, I choose not to limit myself. Manifestation is more powerful than you think.
But I think because Matt and Summer tour properties at lower and higher price points this attracts both audiences, which seems to cause negativity in the comments, especially when it comes to the latter. @hannah rose you pretty much hit the nail on the head. They attract two completely different crowds which is causing toxicity in the comment section. But tbh comments like yours which firmly sets you against the supposed "broke" mindset crowd doesn't do anything to lessen the toxicity.
But on your point, fair enough you don't limit yourself - it's just difficult for some people to imagine a lifestyle only the celebrities/influencers they follow will ever live. The way I see it, I'll always try to be the most successful I can be, but I will always try to aim for and work towards a realistic lifestyle i would be happy with, which is not easy by any stretch. If I end up being super rich, then that's a happy bonus.

I'm sure three Canary Wharf traders or IT contractors would see this as a potential flat share as OKish for London rates. But I wonder if given the events of the last year, there is quite as much demand for modest £3500 a month apartments as had been planned.

I couldn't lean on that banister on the balcony like Matt did 🤢, I'd have to stand back up against the wall and just look straight on. One of my brother's lives in some high rise flats on the very top floor, 24 floors I think and I stepped on the balcony and looked right over and it was horrible.

I dont understand what the hype is with living in apartments. I pay £900 a month for my house with a nice driveway, massive garden, privacy, lovely views of the fields, and a beautiful modern design so why pay £3500 for an apartment just because its in canary wharf lmao what a joke... 😂

very limited storage space for your belongings. the designers seem to have completely forgotten that storage space is an absolute necessity for homes. Without the storage space the price seems quite steep. of course its canary warf so they are tryin to squeeze money outta this place.
The rent not worth the offering tho.

Soo many empty apartments. London is having a big problem filling them up at the moment. I got 2 new builds near me that are completed but totally empty because they just can't sell them. And cant even rent them out. Massive demands for houses though.

They say approx 700,000 have left the capital due to Covid and job losses, many have gone back home to family roots both in the uk and abroad. Commercial property in prime London is ruined which is why many landlords will try to convert office space into resi which in turn will create mass supply with prices going south. If and when things are back to a normal things may improve in our new world - London will always be a powerful attractive city but property values need to calm the hell down for the sake of the younger generations!!
