Never get tired of seeing the re-power Kinze John Deere. Sweet tractors for sure.
Beautiful tractor with a awesome sound
The 8850 is cool tractor.
Not gonna lie, that straight pipe makes that tractor sound awesome.
It makes the Kinze re powers stand out.
6:07 "Truly impressive to see the JOHN DEERE 8850 KINZE Re-Power with 450 horsepower working powerfully in the field! The combination with the McFarlane 5127 multipurpose tillage tool really showcases the strength and efficiency in modern agricultural work. Thank you, Big Tractor Power, for bringing such fascinating visuals and information about the history of agricultural development. A must-watch video for anyone passionate about machinery and farming!"
The Kinze Deeres are some of my absolute favorites. My cousin ran a pair of Kinze 8640s for a time on his farm. He still has one and it's a joy to see in the field.
Your knowledge of farm equipment is impressive. Once again, thank you for the wonderful video.
Awesome tractor, now that’s what ya call big bad John lol 😆
Very cool tractor.
@@bigtractorpower it sure is 👍👍👍
Thanks for giving the tillage speed (7 mph, looked faster than that to me haha). Good looking and sounding tractor.
that looks closer to 10 mph than 7 ;;
@@simongilbert2704 that's what I thought too haha! And then I wondered, is the video sped up in places maybe, I just don't know.
@@brentkelsay3439 yes - your not going mad ,,;; the tractor definitely seems to be going at 2 different speeds from shot to shot ..
@@simongilbert2704 well, I may still be going mad...but glad you noticed the different speeds too 🤪😁
A Beast of a tractor👊😎...don't make em like that anymore..sounds great too..
Never had a repower but ran an 8970 with factory N14 in it for 20yrs, wasnt much it couldnt do, with triples it could soldier waddle out of any mud hole
BTP thank you for this video, as any video on an 8850 is welcomed out here; I honestly don't know why the 8850 is so beloved by us, considering its unreliability issues. What amazes me is that Deere still hadn't figured out you can't incorporate the engine with the framing of a tractor, starting with issues going all the way back to the 5010! This is the first video where someone highlights in-depth detail of the Kinze process and cost...very interesting! What a value of 28k for 1994!
HEY that's the Tractor I have I really appreciate you filming this video bigTractorpower
So the V8 was part of the frame? That just sounds like a bad idea and it obviously was in practice too.
Instead of buying Wagner production and putting them out of business, JD should have bought their patents and developed their superior design. Finally did it right with the 60 series. 20, 30, and 40 series they were trying to build a lower cost tractor. A lot of people ended up paying the rest of the cost in engine problems. If you never drove on ground uneven enough for the front axle to hit the stops they were all right.
Good video.
I think they look better with longer hood, Great video, Jason.
@@markreetz1001 that big nose is really neat makes it look awesome 👍👍
Powerhouse of a tractor. Pulling a pile of dirt and never knew it was back there
I did not notice that pile while I was filming it. The tractor was rolling right along.
Nice looking tractor.
Dang, he's driving it like he stole it. He must get fields done in no time. 👍🏻
The 8850 is staying ahead at least 100 plow bottoms. Every thing from a 16 bottom behind an 890 hp tractor and a one bottom behind a 20 hp tractor. Here is a sample of the tractors plowing at the event ruclips.net/video/Ph7weTOVOJw/видео.htmlsi=1WQrXuDikSLXQzBc
I use to have a video of that same exact tractor doing a 15 degree cold start a few years ago
Ironic… smaller engine, more power, more reliability.
What was the original V8 version's horsepower output ?
said 370@@jamesbarbour8400

Parabens eu sou seu fã amo seu canal e seus vídeos sucesso sempre 👏👏👍👍🚜🚜👌👌
That barkin Cummins sounds badass! Still being Cat guy myself lol. Great video
Nice history on the re-power👍😁 that tractor is really running along💪😄
Thanks
Much Appreciated
Those are very cool and well done tractors. Thinking of adding one to your growing collection BTP? I know you specialize in V8's, but this would be a cool addition for you IMO.
I love this tractor and sound this is a great equipement
It does have a tough sound.
Spent a lot of hours on the 8850 love that v8 sound great video
I am an 8850 fan. I enjoy getting a chance to drive my 1982 model at a local plow day.
Why did John Deere sell 4WD tractors with the engine used as a stressed chassis member in the first place? 8630,40 and 50 series all were short life tractors because of engine failures.
This company caused its tractor owners millions of dollars in replacement engines over several decades. The 8820 could have been predicted to fail on day one because of this engineering blunder. Tractors don't seem to break down when they are not needed. This is exactly why we went to Caterpillar tractors back in 1997. Best move we ever made.
Hello! Awesome machine...
It is a true power house.
@@bigtractorpower 👌
How many hours since the repower?
I have an video idea for you, what if you make a video showing all the different generations of John Deere tractors, like you did with the John Deere combines
Thank you. I have been working on that very video. It will be called R to 8R.
great idea
The iron horse!!!!!
Tough tractor.
Sweet tractor for sure
It is a cool one
Esta máquina, es para una rastra pesada, grande
As always.
😁👍
Good stuff big T 👍👍👍
Sounds great with that straight through exhaust...
The Big Cam 4 has a strong sound.
I bet if he’d drop that disc to the axles that tractor won’t sound like that lol
The driver must have been thinking….
He’s standing pretty close, I hope I don’t run him over! 🙂
She don't mess around
Look at him he's driving to Mexico😂😂😂😂😂
Kinze should put a Scania V8 in that tractor
Xe ngon rượu ngon Việt Nam đây mấy ông già 🇻🇳🚜♥️💖🥰❤
👌Excellent👌 video
Thank you James.
Wow
I like power tractor, i live Bangladesh, all friend good by.
I believe I just put the 903 back in it does the 8850 feature the V8 was the one special thing it had that none of the others did set alarm to just have another six cylinder John Deere tractor
I do not know if an 8850 has been a repowered with a Cummins 903. Massey Ferguson 4000 , Ford FW Series and some Steiger’s were built with 903s.
@bigtractorpower no they put a 8:55 big cam Cummins 6 cylinder in it
How many of those re powers were made
I do not know. If I find that information I will share it in a future video.
around 150
Over 600 John Deere tractors per Kinze website.
Hi from Dexter🏠Missouri
Hi James.
Corm must have been planted very early. I live North of near Fairview Hts...........corn around here is not ready in this area north.
It was planted a month early to ensure it would be ready for this show.
It’s a shame that more V8 diesel engines tractors weren’t made. However, in addition to the flaw plaguing the 8850, there’s another inherent problem with a V8 diesel-the journal spacings on the crankshaft are narrower than those of an inline 6 engine, making the crankshaft weaker in the long run and more susceptible to breakage. It was a big problem with the Cummins V-555 V8 diesel engine. Once engine manufacturers figured out how to get V8 power from an inline 6 engine it was the death knell for the V8 diesel in tractors and equipment.
Lack of torque was the main reason V8s didn't become more common in ag tractors.
@@lynwessel2471 that is indeed correct - gotta rev them pretty high up the rev band to get any kind of decent performance out of them. Plus you're 'feeding' two extra cylinders (compared to a straight six), at higher than average revs, so V8s get through the fuel too.
Just like many Politicians, they sure look good and sound impressive, but ultimately fail to deliver and cost a lot of money !
@bigtractorpower Do you still have your 8850?
Find it interesting so many companies had a v8 some had multiple and jd just had the 1. I wonder what made them finally do a V8
Probably to compete with Caseih and other companies or the fact that they never did one before then thought it was time to do it
❤😊
Thank you for watching.
i would never use a repowered tractor as take's away value. So i wouldn't i'd leave it stock
That disk did nothing to them corn stalks
Ii iodide it iiiu
