I went to Lahore, Pakistan recently for business meetings. I’ve seen a lot of Sikhs run businesses, selling food and clothes down on the streets. It’s a wonderful feeling where you have Muslims and Sikhs living together. Also ranveer is right, the generation of Pakistan today is waking up to the BS that the army is trying to portray to its citizens.
Hindoos (who basically are Khatri) are living alongside Pashtuns and Baloch people's in northern and Western Pakistan . Despite having religious as well as racial and Ethnic differences they too are well respected among both these communities !

That is actually true. There are quite a few Hindu businessmen in Karachi. My neighbour (wealthy trader) is Hindu and our favourite convenience stores are Hindu owned and run. The community is 4.5 million strong in Pakistan. In Karachi we see Hindus all the time working in offices..Hindus are a fair minority in Sindh. Urban Sindhi Hindus are more likely to be educated and gainfully employed than your average guy. I have only seen one Pakistani Sikh in my life. I see Hindus all the time. Commenting from Karachi.

Yes Muslims were cleansed from East Punjab where they were 35% while Hindu and Sikhs were cleansed from West Punjab, where they were reduced from 30% to 1%. Looking at what this gentleman was saying, neither east Punjabis (whom we call Charda Punjab) nor the west Punjabi (Lehda Punjab) feel proud on this. There were very few hindus in Baluchistan and KPK. While very few hindus left from Sindh. So you need to understand most of the population is Punjab and if some migrated from Punjab in Pakistan it created big impact as % on Pakistan as a whole. While Indian Punjab is a fraction of India so there is no impact of Ethinic cleansing on Indian side. Books used to teach that in Zia times, things have changed. Even during zia time my school did not taught the local history books. So yes there was hatred in our books during zia time and there might still be today but people are cognizant of that fact. Force conversations happens, but law also takes its path. You can challenge that, lots a NGOs owned by Muslims are working for that cause. Being Pakistani, I feel he is a bit exaggerating on the fact that Pakistan is struggling to get out of being a security state. On what he said about Hindus being wealthy, I'd say that in my life I've seen Hindus who are either financially giant or Hindus who struggle to make ends meet. Hindus have a businesses in Pakistan which very few know. I have access to this information because of the nature of my profession. I've come across various Hindus from being my bosses, colleagues and subordinates. They always work hard for a better future and this is what I admire about them. Having said that, Pakistan is no where close to being the ideal country for minorities and needs radical measures to make it one.

Let me say about Hindu community in Pakistan, i have worked with a Hindu from Pakistan, what he said was it is different than what he said in Podcast. Some Hindus who were wealthy from generations they are in good positions. But most of the backward class Hindus in Pakistan are either dead or converted. Relatively Hindus are more in Sindhi as community is also strong there. It is known truth even for non hindus in pakistan. I dont know why he saying partial truth about these things. Literally my colleague Hindu from pakistan is trying his best to move out the Pakistan with his family.

I have visited India and found people of India mostly youth want to see friendly relationship with Pakistan but problem is both sides governments are not in favour. It is true hindu community here in Pakistan are well educated and well placed even in government. So we both nuclear powers need to settle political issues including Kashmir issue and peace is only way forward.

I too am deeply disappointed with Ranveer for bringing an individual who lacks factual knowledge as his guest. I never thought Ranveer, would take the concept of 'Atithi Devo Bhava,' to this extent. While adithi devo bhava is an important aspect of Indian culture, it should never be taken to the extent of allowing false information to be spread. India, or Bharat as we call it, is not losing its democracy, nor is it on the path to becoming a security state. The guest's views are not reflective of the reality, and I believe Guru Nanak Ji, who taught us to seek truth, would not be proud of such behavior. Whatever he said might not be all true but what I've experienced with talking to Pakistani's in America is that despite the religious differences they watch a lot bollywood even some tollywood, they love India in the sense of culture probably not political, Pakistani's have always been nice to me even though I'm Indian.

The only minorities I have seen in Pakistan - I live here -- that have rich people in it are Sindhi Hindus and Parsis. At one point Pakistans acting chief justice of the SC was Rana Bhagwandas. I always think your fate in the subcontinent depends more upon whether you are rich or poor than what religion you are. Ghareeb aadmi from a minority is the most vulnerable. Ameer admi from a minority usually has a better life than the average person from the majority. Class is more of a deciding factor in Pakistan and perhaps in India too.

I went to Lahore, Pakistan recently for business meetings. I’ve seen a lot of Sikhs run businesses, selling food and clothes down on the streets. It’s a wonderful feeling where you have Muslims and Sikhs living together. Also ranveer is right, the generation of Pakistan today is waking up to the BS that the army is trying to portray to its citizens.

That is actually true. There are quite a few Hindu businessmen in Karachi. My neighbour (wealthy trader) is Hindu and our favourite convenience stores are Hindu owned and run. The community is 4.5 million strong in Pakistan. In Karachi we see Hindus all the time working in offices..Hindus are a fair minority in Sindh. Urban Sindhi Hindus are more likely to be educated and gainfully employed than your average guy. I have only seen one Pakistani Sikh in my life. I see Hindus all the time. Commenting from Karachi.

Yes Muslims were cleansed from East Punjab where they were 35% while Hindu and Sikhs were cleansed from West Punjab, where they were reduced from 30% to 1%. Looking at what this gentleman was saying, neither east Punjabis (whom we call Charda Punjab) nor the west Punjabi (Lehda Punjab) feel proud on this. There were very few hindus in Baluchistan and KPK. While very few hindus left from Sindh. So you need to understand most of the population is Punjab and if some migrated from Punjab in Pakistan it created big impact as % on Pakistan as a whole. While Indian Punjab is a fraction of India so there is no impact of Ethinic cleansing on Indian side. Books used to teach that in Zia times, things have changed. Being Pakistani, I feel he is a bit exaggerating on the fact that Pakistan is struggling to get out of being a security state. On what he said about Hindus being wealthy, I'd say that in my life I've seen Hindus who are either financially giant or Hindus who struggle to make ends meet. Hindus have a businesses in Pakistan which very few know. I have access to this information because of the nature of my profession. I've come across various Hindus from being my bosses, colleagues and subordinates. They always work hard for a better future and this is what I admire about them. Having said that, Pakistan is no where close to being the ideal country for minorities and needs radical measures to make it one.

I have visited India and found people of India mostly youth want to see friendly relationship with Pakistan but problem is both sides governments are not in favour. I too am deeply disappointed with Ranveer for bringing an individual who lacks factual knowledge as his guest. As a host, Ranveer should have defended his country and corrected the misinformation instead of passively listening to it. I never thought Ranveer, would take the concept of 'Atithi Devo Bhava,' to this extent. While adithi devo bhava is an important aspect of Indian culture, it should never be taken to the extent of allowing false information to be spread. Whatever he said might not be all true but what I've experienced with talking to Pakistani's in America is that despite the religious differences they watch a lot bollywood even some tollywood, they love India in the sense of culture probably not political, Pakistani's have always been nice to me even though I'm Indian.

That's because we now live in separate countries and they're westernised (less radicalized) pakistanies. We can not fare well with those who live in Pakistan currently as people of the same country. Maybe the love would still be there, until the shit hits the fan and an event like 47 happens again.

I am glad that someone from the Indian side is at least not talking negatively about Pakistan for the sake of more views, but actually addressing the problems themselves. If people from America and Europe, who have been fighting for centuries, can come together and become friends, then why can't Pakistan and India do the same? The people of Pakistan want good, even great, relations with all their neighbors, especially with India and Bangladesh, as we are the same people, just divided by a border. Together, we are like bricks in a wall; alone, we are nothing. This century belongs to South Asia, and Americans and Europeans would do anything to prevent this from happening. Saying the hindu population is vibrant when there are protests going on just last week on hindu girls being abducted seems odd. There are parts of Sindh where they are doing ok, but most part of Pakistan, they have been ethnically cleansed completely. Same with Sikh population.

The only minorities I have seen in Pakistan - I live here -- that have rich people in it are Sindhi Hindus and Parsis. At one point Pakistans acting chief justice of the SC was Rana Bhagwandas. I always think your fate in the subcontinent depends more upon whether you are rich or poor than what religion you are. Ghareeb aadmi from a minority is the most vulnerable. Ameer admi from a minority usually has a better life than the average person from the majority. Class is more of a deciding factor in Pakistan and perhaps in India too.
