I’ve been waiting for this John Hill phase for a while. It’s the perfect plan. Even if you wanted to do 1, maybe 2 “secret” tricks for your end of the year compilation part, sure, go for it, but you can film a part, and vlog, at the same time. Post the part tricks too, who cares. It’s still going to make an epic part at the end of the year. Next question though, who do you get to help you film lines at line spots?
Not big on RUclips vlogging, and I try to check myself from hate watching. However, the tricks are sick. Now make a dope video part.

I dont think ive seen him ride stairs before like this. So used to seeing him skating ledges and rails at parks. Damn dude is killin it with style and everything
13:40 About this idea of putting all of your best tricks in a montage, parkour guys do that kind of thing. If you go to Dom Tomato's channel, the guy is regarded as one of the best in the world, think of what Nyjah or Ishod is to skateboarding, Dom is to parkour. When you go to his channel he has his vlog videos of course which he uploads every few days, but he also has a monthly montage with the best tricks he did over the last month which are also included in the vlog. So he wasn't saving them for his "part" or whatever. I think this is a good way to do it in your case John. For anyone who is new to the channel or wants a quick fix of really good John Hill skating, he could watch the montage.

Incredible session at an incredibly iconic spot. I had 'Girl Yeah Right' downloaded on my iPod Nano and iPod touch when I was a teen and would watch it on repeat on the bus before and after school. So this spot is basically ingrained in my childhood memories. Hahahaha I'd love to see you return to this spot at some point or sesh some other iconic spots that still remain in Cali! Nothing like a little nostalgia mixed with epic John Hill skating. Also, that session up the 3 stair was pretty insane considering they're slightly longer than average stairs.
I think you should make a street part, but don't hide any clips for it. I assume your RUclips channel and sponsorships that stem from it are your primary sources of income, so don't make it harder on yourself to get views, likes, etc by hiding top tier content from your primary audience. I love these videos that have one or two street bangers, and I'd be more than happy to see them again in a street part that's released a year from now or something. Plus, if that street part is being put out through Revive or another sponsor, chances are lots of their viewers don't watch all of your videos so many of those clips will be new to them.

You really should put out a legitimate video part. I know there’s the mentality of “nothing to prove”, but putting that aside, it would still be an enduring milestone in your career. You also might not feel like it, but you’re still in your prime years, and if anything, I believe you now have a better eye for trick selection, spot selection, and editing.
Speaking as someone in the exact same stage of life as you (albeit a completely different career), early 30s is the new 20s in a lot of ways. You’re really talented, man, and there’s no reason you can’t be part of the “core” skateboarding culture, as well.
Watching you destroy this set was the perfect way to end my day while smokin a jay! Thanks John!

Do you look straight down at your board when popping off stairs or do you kinda look forward with your eyes towards your nose when jumping off stairs to see where your going to land but still seeing the more front of your board? Every time i skate stairs looking straight down causes me to bail and not see ahead of me.Please help. I’m a big fan

Dude no offense you’re really good, but you’ve been skating all these years and you can’t throw down switch, kind of don’t understand that, I learned how to do it not long after I learned to run and throw down regular, iguess that’s why it’s easy for me maybe because I been doing it all of my skating pretty much, never even knew it was an option when I was younger to run like your throwing down regular and change change your position, almost seems harder to me then just throwing down switch

I’ve been lucky enough to get a fakie heel flip on this for my part.
Would be funny if people started to removed stopped rails. When the stops can't be removed just take the rail out for them. Be considerate to the business. They don't want the rail anymore get rid of it for them.
Little advice from a video editor: use a loudness meter for aligning the volume of music with your spoken clips. Your music is a lot louder than the rest of the video, your voice doesn't sound as impactful as it could be
