Your obsession was my obsession until my wife got hurt and i havent bought any games in at least 6 months. Ive been at 1600 and honestly i think i am probably done collecting. I miss the thrill of the hunt but i now live vicariously through videos like this, where i can at the very least get to see others continue my passion.

I stopped collecting years ago, I'm actually not far off selling most of it because I just dont play them, when I do play i just emulate, so much easier not having to dig out an old console and dig through games.
But I know I'll probably regret selling so I haven't yet
I totally get it. I just love physical so much that it's hard to let it all go.
This is hands down the best retro/modern game pickups video on RUclips this week!!! You had an excellent variety of games spanning multiple generations. It's tough being a collector these days. The market is oversaturated with great games. My wallet cries almost every month....🤣. I wish I had known about the physical edition for Castle Crashers becasue I would've pre-ordered it. There's no way I'm paying over $200 for it. I guess you win some and lose some......Appreciate the great content man!

Its because the Special Reserve verison of Cult of the Lamb has DLC on the physical cart and the retail release does not. They listed this on their website.

Black and white for pc decades ago had a release like cyberpunk. Released a broken game and didn't fix it or make it playable for months. But because internet news wasn't like it is now, it wasn't roasted like cyberpunk. Great video bro.

I need to start collecting games again. Right now my prized possession is the "physical release of psychonauts 2" I got it for backing the game on fig back in the day. I say physical copy loosely because I can physically hold it but what they did is load the first and second game onto custom flashdrive and came it what looks like a mints tin. Idk I feel it will go up in value due to no need for steam codes or access keys to play the games just pop in flash drive install play. And its on a physical medium of the flashdrive. Not ever going to sell it because I helped make that game possible lol. But also 7:35 powerwashing simulator stimulates my adhd brain. I get laser focused on the game

Let me tell you what's missing from Horizon Zero Dawn: interesting sidequests. All the sidequests were like fetch or kill 10 somethings to get a cool costume or weapon. The story in the sidequests was just not there. RPGs must understand the magic that the Witcher 3 achieved.

0:33 Drunk nights in my buddy's room. He had the 360 and 4 controllers. I preferred that to going out to a bar. I remember one time we were laughing so hard I peed myself a little. The game was just so bonkers and random at the time. Good times. 😁

Bramble the mountain king is a fantastic game with some really dark disturbing content. It took me by surprise more than a few times.
I keep meaning to pick up Lies of P but at the same time I'm terrified of souls like games.
When there's great pickups like that available, sometimes you got to break those New Year's promises. I would have done the same thing 😂

Lies of P is awesome and i only played my copy of it for about an hour. But i got lords of the fallen at the same time aswell so i put like 50 hours into that instead. If it is a souls like it has to be done i agree lol.

Fun video. Heads up that Disgaea 2 has an expanded psp port, like the first game does, and Disgaea 3 is also on Vita. I massively prefer to play TRPGs on handheld, so those are my go-tos!
You're also in for a treat with Lies of P. Ignoring Nioh, since it changed the Souls-like formula a good bit, it's far, far and away the best Souls-like out there. It's also INCREDIBLY difficult. But it's well worth it!!
I totally forgot about the portable versions of the Disgaea games.... sorry about that.

Omg i had that same problem you had with cult of lamb with scott pilgrim vs the world. Order special edition limited run. And waited a year. Before i hot it, it was out digital and regular elsewhere. And i ended up buying a normal copy while waiting because i wanted to play it. Very clever way of putting the add in btw. Hehe.. helps when it fits

Just finished Horizon Forbidden West. I think the thing holding it back was the story? More outlandish and the villains were not that compelling. It's hard for the story to beat the original one though since it was so good. They at least improved the gameplay!

Lies of p is a phenomenal game. It might as well be a souls game given how accurate it depicts that genre it just feels really good to play and the story is actually really good. I also find it funny how "souls-like" is a legit genre now 😂 they really do deserve it atp, I just love how on the back of the lies of p case it actually considers itself as a souls-like. I also just started cyberpunk, very few games like cyberpunk and no man's sky etc get to successfully turn their game around and it really shows their passion and how much they care because it's a blast. Glad I didn't play it beforehand because it feels great. Also don't play this game around family 😭
A lot of my viewers are chomping at the bit for me to play Lies of P. I'm sure that it won't be long until I have a chance to try it out.

Cyberpunk 2077 (the fixed version) is an amazing game! One of my favorites of all time. I remember diving into it not knowing what to expect since all I knew about it was the terrible launch but I saw it for sale on steam. Now I tell all my friends to play it.

I did the same thing with Cyberpunk and I’m so glad I did. It really is so good. CD came through and I think with this final result they can be forgiven. Also, Lies of P really is so good as well. Maybe not GOTY but still really fun and it is more than just another souls like with some very unique and interesting mechanics.

I didn't buy much for the last 2 months. I just recently bought Helldivers 2. I love it. It's difficult like HD1. However the connection is just horrible. I hope they fix it. Once get connected, having teammates are a blast.
Helldivers drove me and my friends insane! We killed each other non-stop. Hopefully, they fix the second one
I break my promise every week. If it’s cheap and/or digital deal, I’ll grab it. I capped out with 360 between 560-600 physical games. I’m collecting for the PS4/PS5 now.
That's a huge 360 collection. I think I'm around 300 games or so.
PS4 is probably my biggest collection

Honestly I started collecting world paper currency last year, and thats fit my collection itch. They're usually only about $3-6 each.. a much cheaper addiction! They're really cool, I love all the artwork and history of them. But deep inside... the yearning... the yearning to collect video games...is trying to escape.... :D

Great pickups man. I’ve been playing a few of these games recently mainly on PC / Steam Deck but all solid games. Cyberpunk I’ve got 50+ hrs into and might be halfway through the game - it’s one of those long haul games if you fall in love with it but you can blast through the main story shorter if you focused on it while still having fun experience I’m sure (not counting Phantom Liberty in that assessment but I’ve heard good things). Lies Of P was awesome but I wish I didn’t suck so much at Souls-like combat games. Both Horizon games are in my backlog also Cult Of The Lamb. And Neon White kicks ass!! And yeah I’m jealous of that Silver Surfer NES pickup! 🏄♀️ - quick side note - man I’m glad I avoided Neo Geo collecting - considered it a few times but I’m good with playing them other ways with those aftermarket prices. The Neo Geo mini is a pretty fun and affordable way to experience those games in some way even though it’s not a perfect solution. Always so cool to see other people’s collections on YT from that system though and live vicariously 😅

YES! I Can not wait for you to get to Cyberpunk. The 2nd horizon game fell a little short with me too. I think the difficulty slider just adding health to the enemy was the big disappointment for me. Everything just became a damage sponge. There was no new interesting or innovative way to defeat enemies quickly if you set to Max Difficulty. I wanted a puzzle, not a damage sponge.

Thanks for another enjoyable video man! Regarding shoot-em-ups: I know what you mean about vertical scrollers in the 16:9 format - but I think the game “Jamestown+” pulled it off very well. Have you played that one? Wonder how you feel about it.
I have played Jamestown+ on the PC. But I ordered the PS4 and Switch versions from Limited Run Games! I'm psyched for them.
The 16:9 ratio works better for Jamestown because it was designed to be played with 4 simultaneous players
@@RNGGamerYT That is a great point. I always play games solo - so I often forget about co-op modes. I do enjoy Jamestown as a single-player experience. But now I have an excuse for not beating the higher difficulties! :)
You don't have to respond to this I'm just sharing a memory you might be able to relate to for nostalgia:
I remember (might not be accurate) when the Neo Geo came out and it being the first time that the home system had graphical parody with the cabinet version of the games. I thought that was amazing. However the price, as I recall, for each cartridge was close to the same as an entire game system of the time. I had rich friends who had every game system made but none of them had a Neo Geo. I remember thinking that system was doomed even though it was cool.
I loved games so much I worked at Babbage's at a mall just to be around them more. I'd be curious how many games you still have that you bought from those old game stores like Babbage's or Electronics Boutique. Might be a cool video if you could recall getting them.

I don't have any games from back in the day. My parents had to sell them all for financial reasons. The first console I bought when I started collecting was the Xbox 360 😆

Jus wanted to thank you. I had no idea about the cyberpunk 2077 edition. I picked up the series X version. Not sure if it's the same on ps5 I'm assuming not because the dlc is code based. But the xbox version has 3 discs if anyone want to know. And the third disk comes in a cool cyberpunk themed yellow sleeve.

Cool stuff there, I must say! I also got Cyberpunk 2077 - Ultimate Edition but I decided to get it for the Xbox because of the fact that it has Phantom Liberty on the disc and because it's my main console.
Also, Horizon seems cool, but I haven't even been able to click with the first game yet. I decided to buy the sequel simply because it was developed in my country (the Netherlands).
That MSX Collection you got is awesome, right? Collections and compilations are wonderful. Although I wish there were physical versions of both Capcom Arcade Stadium releases.
Lastly... Disgaea 2 was eventually re-released! It came out on PSP in the US and Europe under the title "Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days." And Disgaea 3 eventually also saw a re-release on Vita with "Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention." I still think NIS should release them again on modern consoles...

Bramble the Mountain King is amazing - intense and very harrowing at times - but ultimately beautiful- some slight jank but nothing more than minor annoyances IMO

You need to play the Shadow Hearts series on the PS2 . That is one of my favorite series of all time . Despite how dark it is it needs a remake or at least a remaster . We need to convince somebody to get the license and remake it . I know that not many people played it but it is seriously a gem that has been criminally under rated . Id I had any recommendations it would be the Shadow Hearts series . There was a game on the ps1 called Koudelka but you really do not need to play it to understand Shadow Hearts but I would like to see a remaster of that also .

Great episode. Lies of P is a great game. A well done soulslike title imo. Feels like Dark Souls III and Bioshock meshed together. Another Soulslike game that I recommend is Mortal Shell. PSN gave it away for free one month and I really enjoyed it. Quite challenging.
Just an FYI, Duluth Trading also make quality shirts and pants. They usually run sales and have a ton of plaid flannels. About the same price point as AM. Cheers!

I put Castle Crasher & Devil Engine Complete Edition on my list now for PS4 digital games. Going to research them more before I decide to buy them. I did this because I watched your vid on youtube having maybe the best invention of our time internet then youtube obviously.
I just want to point this out because a lot of people shit on 2024 & the future going fwd. I will say in the 80's & 90's, Way harder to find out about what games are good or not.

Surely they know that there are still 25% of gamers that “only buy physical, no matter what”, so completely abandoning physical game sales, and also losing all presence at retail makes no sense.
Having said that, Best Buy (completely) and Walmart (to a certain extent) are also getting rid of physical game sales (for all brands). Target has already begun to do so. GameStop is on life support.
I have no doubt, if there’s a demand for physical games, MS will find a way to fill it. But printing up 100s of 1000s of physical copies that no one wants anymore makes no sense.

10:05 Why is Soul's so good? I've tried to like every Soul's game after Demon's Souls, but they just feel off. Demon's Soul's had this Lovecraftian undertone that I fell in love with, and it's been kind of background for the Dark series. Dark Soul's just didn't grab me the way Demon's Soul's did, and I've been trying to understand the appeal of it.
Demon's Souls is actually set in a different universe than the rest of the other souls games. It is also split up into different levels that are all separated and connected by the nexus, whereas the other games are all interconnected. Maybe that has something to do with it

If you're after that cosmic horror vibe, you should try Bloodborne.
I've only played maybe an hour of Dark Souls 1, didn't particularly care for the way playing it felt.
Bloodborne is a whole different beast (pun intended). One of only like 3 games I've Platinumed.
@RwnEsper Maybe. It's on sale too. It's very tempting, but I'm playing Arkham Knight right now on hard. For the platinum. I'm also iffy on making a purchase I won't enjoy. There are some games that I dropped 70 bucks on and didn't like. Like Horizon Zero Dawn.

@@RNGGamerYT It really surprised me. I thought I would play it for 10 mins and it wouldn't be my thing and I got totally addicted to it. Now I am on the last level. It's unique for a souls-like in a lot of ways.
The game I am currently playing from my backlog is S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadows of Chernoybl for the PC. I put it down in 2015 and just started it again and had to learn how to play it all over. It's hard, I had to look up something already because I got stuck in this room. I would have never figured it out! And you constantly run out of ammo in intense battles and are constantly encumbered. It's very challenging!

Microsoft never said that they are not releasing anymore physical games like at 8:45. What video game news site lied to you? The journalism on Xbox is all speculation idiots that use "could" "may" "potentially" "considering"... if Xbox hasn't actual said it from Phil, Sarah or on a written memo... it ain't happening. If so in my profession of casino architecture... the Las Vegas Strip has about 20 different casinos that I did renderings and CAD drawings that are amazing, but you never heard of them because they really never happened. I believe jack from some journalism, because if I did that, Xbox died 12 times in the last 10 years while it is currently making more profit than Sony is right now. The gaming journalism industry is delusional.
