This weekend I share a tutorial on how to wear a Red Eyeshadow. Red is an shade that you might steer away from using around the eyes as its generally associated with irritated skin or from crying but I'll show you how I would wear this very beautiful shade. Many years ago (1970) I bought a very similar eye shadow from Mary Quant, called Mulberry, and I absolutely loved the way it looked. This looks great on you too!

Maybe because it is not RED but PINK ???? I have done red eye looks and looks gorgeous if you know what to do , same with pink or any colour , and with hooded eyes , the secret is to go a bit up the lid, when she opens her eyes you can not barely see anything . And Jesus !! all the time talking about age !! I am 4 years or so older and I don't have that thoughts about myself all the time. Age is what you FEEL not a number .

You look stunning! Thank you for sharing this look! It’s funny because I bought a red eyeliner and shadow years ago thinking it was so pretty and really brought the green out of my hazel eyes. But it always somehow made me look sick and tired. You’ve really taught me that is because my base wasn’t solid enough. I had too much natural redness and discoloration and that was the issue. Thank you Caroline!!

Hi Caroline, I can vouch for Aurelia products. Their revitalise serum is my favourite of their products by far! I am on my 5th bottle! I also like their moisturiser. Expensive but so calming for the skin - I alternate it with actives.

I LOVE Aurelia!!! The night oil is amazing and I’ve just ordered the serum ! Anything reddish around my eyes causes chaos with me… itching and sore eyes, tried the coloured Kevyn Aucoin mascara and the CT reddish liner.. disastrous!!! Looked fabulous on you but I can’t risk it !! 😍😍
Before the pandemic you were going to do an interview with someone who developed a skin Caroline around CBD oil. There’s a lot more research out there now that shows that it is actually a beneficial product and so I was hoping you might reschedule that interview at some not-too-distant point in the future :-) thanks for all the great content, and it’s so nice that you’re coming up in my feed more now again and don’t know why that wasn’t happening for a while back welcome back. . I always feel that I get such good information from you not only about products but Tips as well. Sometimes it’s hard to see the product links because they’re UK based and they don’t open up on my iPad but I just search on Amazon for the product if I have to.

Hi Caroline I love pink, but a deep pink or red eyeshadow is a fairly tricky shade on the eyes. If you have even a hint of pink in the white of the eye it can make you look a bit ill. I've made it work before with a navy liner on the top lashline and a super pale pink shade on the waterline to brighten the eye (I'm super pale so cream/nude liner looks yellow on me and either very pale pink or lilac is more flattering). There is quite a vibrant pink shade in the ND retro glam palette and this is how I made it work. I used a light grey taupe in the crease and kept the bright shade for the lid, but I also like the way you used the liquid shadow. Such a pale nude lip would really wash me out, so I used the UD backtalk lipstick blotted down a bit (a pretty mauve shade which is very similar to my natural lip colour - just a bit more vibrant). Best wishes.
ps I'm not a trend follower, but I wanted to try all the shades in my new palette over the festive period and played with some shades I don't normally gravitate to.

Love the Aurelia Glow Serum but haven’t tried any of the other products. Have you tried the Walk of No Shame eyeshadow palette from Charlotte Tilbury? Very similar shades to this but you do have to be careful to line the lash line with black, otherwise it can look a bit “white lab rat”😂. Have a great weekend Caroline! Hope you’re over the jetlag xx
I bought the IRL foundation after watching this and I love love love it, but… it transfers as I have found out to my embarrassment after embracing two friends and leaving them with dark brown cheeks!! I use a primer and setting spray. Would welcome any tips to get my foundation to stay put xx
I’m a bit scared to try the red eye look but might be brave! I tried the Revolution foundation and it’s lovely for short periods if you aren’t perspiring AT ALL. Tried wearing it all day at work and it quickly became patchy and oxidised, looked awful after only a couple of hours. Not impressed for long durable wear but ok for zoom calls!

When I put blush very low down on my cheeks like you and other makeup artist do it just doesn't look right. It looks really ruddy and not lifting. If I place it higher I think it looks better. Am I doing something wrong or is it just my face shape?
I too have green eyes but I am very unsure a red eyeshadow would look flattering on me. It usually makes me look as if someone punched me or I am sick. But perhaps I am using the wrong shade or wrong technique. Thanks!
You really can wear it all, can't you? When I saw how to wear red, I straight away went, nuh uh. Not for me. And it wouldn't be. Not with my colouring but it's gorgeous on you. And I LOVE that lipstick.

I just wanted to add a note of caution if like me you have eczema and rosacea prone, sensitive mature skin. I have used a number of Aurelia products over the last few years and have experienced quite a reaction to the flower based essential oils and orange peel extracts in the line. They may well suit some really well but I would advise to really take care if you suffer from sensitive skin prone to reaction. Not a criticism of the Aurelia range, just more about knowing your skin and what works for some may not work for you.
The skin care product sound wonderful and I am curious. I admit, that at my age(63), the red eye makeup trend is not for me. I like my taupe shadows. I do appreciate your tutorials though. Be well!

Maybe, that is an old photo though and I am a bit grayer. BTW, I just went on the Aurelia website and am thinking of ordering the 3 piece starter kit with the cleanser, glow serum and moisturizer. I assume delivery across the pond is not too expensive.
