For anyone whos curious as to what songs were in this suite: 0:00 - 3:10 "This is Berk", the very first song you hear in the movie, and I cannot understate how awesome this song serves as an opening. It simultaneously introduces Hiccups theme, Astrids theme, Stoics theme, and of Berk and the Vikings. Pretty much every single major character thats introduced in the opening scene has their own accompanying theme musically introduced as well. You hear that slow opening part? That is Hiccups theme as well. This comes back later when both Toothless' theme (which is introduced when Hiccup first sees Toothless, and its initially in a minor key. Later in the movie as Hiccup gets to know Toothless, its in a major key) and this theme are brought together in "Test Drive", when Toothless and Hiccup first synergize and fly together as characters. In the same way, the music brings together the two themes. Before, Toothless' theme by itself seemed incomplete and without an ending. Well, Hiccups theme provides that ending for Toothless' theme. The music reflects how Toothless was incomplete without Hiccup, and that they needed each other. When the two bring each other to completion as characters, their two themes are brought together and brought into completion musically in "Test Drive". Its amazing what John Powell did, he tells the entire story with the music! 3:10 - 5:50 "Romantic Flight", aka Astrid's "theme", heard when Astrid rides with Toothless and Hiccup for the first time. You also hear a bit of this when Astrid is first introduced. 5:50 - 7:50 "See you Tomorrow", played during the training montage cutting between learning from toothless and the dragon training (at least I think?) 7:50 - 9:21 The second half of "Where's Hiccup?" Where hiccup wakes up from his bed, missing a leg at the very end. 9:21 to the end is the last part of "Test Drive", played when Hiccup first properly flies with Toothless, and in this instance the parts played are of when they are skimming right over the trees and then weaving through the rocks after Hiccup ditches the cheat sheet, or right before the key signature changes from D to E in the music. Again, this song brings together Hiccups and Toothless' themes to provide an awesome piece of music Of course there could be some mistakes in here, feel free to add on anything else you might've heard in this amazing arrangement
I think Powell doesn't write themes for characters. Test Drive, for example, is simply the franchise's theme, it could be called the titles; Romantic Flight is the "romance" melody, not exclusive to Astrid. You can't pin one letmotiv to Astrid or Hiccup, but somehow you know the situations and themes he wants to highlight with his scores.
this is berk it's 12 days north of hopeless and a few degrees south of freezing to death, it's located solidly on the meridian of misery. My village in a word sturdy. and it's been here for 7 generations but every single building is new. We've got fishing, hiking and a charming view of the sunsets the only downside are the pests.... in some places they've got mice or mosquitoes, We've got.... dragons!
@@TheMe-Di-O-CrePanda because it would've been overused and would be milking it to much, this was in my opinion a perfect trilogy. The only thing that would make sense is adding a spin of or a prequel about Stoiks life for example. Straight continuations of it would just ruin it, i mean think, what else of threat is there that would be so original and creative which could work, there is barely anything left and it would just be a flimsy shadow of previous films, i mean the third one already had the same kind of generic villain as the second instalment, in my opinion. So adding anything more would just not be as good as the third, second, or let along the first movie.
