That creature in the top right corner of that spiked rancor poster item was a Krayt Dragon based on the original Legends design and not the knockoff dune sandworm/graboid Disney turned it into
I know i might be a bit late but the Vader Immortal game rancor, when that thing appeared the VR perspective makes it so much more elevated in height it is insane. Plus the fact it actively chases you and you have to run while it busts down walls to get to you in a terrifying yet exciting experience
The story about the Jedi in Shadows and Light hunting terentateks is referenced several times in Knights of the Old Republic. The main character hears about the Jedi hunt and is asked to find out what happened to them. You end up finding their bodies and journals and fighting terentateks that presumably killed them.
Directly at 7:47, that's actually the model of a Krayt Dragon that were also in SWG and NOT a baby Rancor obviously... Given how the Spined Rancor has some similar spikes to them, I'm pretty sure they were implying they were mutated with Krayt Dragon DNA(except not when you actually make it, so it's more of a in-lore sorta thing I guess).
The terentetak was actually made by the Je'dai order trying to create a medical beast, I think, but ended up making these pissed off creatures that actually settled into Korriban's ecosystem as a natural predator to the original Sith species, before and after the dark Jedi arrival, that were used as mounts/companions to their Sith masters that would lead to an eventual betrayal by said mount if it wasn't fed properly or became too curious as to what it's master tasted like
Man, I miss Star Wars Galaxies so much. I know there's a fan server up, but sadly barely anyone is on and it only uses the bare bones version; none of the DLC stuff including the dangerous planets and ability to genetically make your own pets. If they found a way to include all that DLC today, I would play the heck out of it once more.
Swamp Rancor reminds me of the D&D Black Dragon with those horns and hide color... and location if you think about it. And the Terentatek reminds me a little bit of a Terrasque... Just saying! The 4-armed one was my favorite probably...
When I played Vader immortal, and saw the 4 armed Rancor, I literally screamed, because the first time you see it, is a jump scare, then when I realized what I was looking like I was like "what the hell am I looking at?!"

Thing is, the Coloi Rancor isn't that original: The Je'Daii Order had their own variation of Coloi Rancors available to them on Tython, the species having been transplanted there alongside their Human riders from Dathomir over 27,000 years before the Battle of Yavin.

I have to wonder if Terentateks might have a vulnerability nobody would see coming, like if their tough hides are more effective against energy then physical piercing (like swap your lightsaber for a minigun and you'll slaughter them type thing).

I feel like the title is wrong. This is a compilation (as you said in the intro), not an explanation of why we don't know much about Rancors. In fact, it seems there's quite a lot of info, at least in Legends. Maybe you meant "people don't know how many there are" and that's true. I just don't see the connection between the title and the content.
Zillo beast is kinda mid and are most likely extinct in the star wars universe and there are so many rancors some of which could probably kill a zillo beasts

The most nostalgic version of Rancors that I remember other than in the movie is how the Dathomir Witches ride them into battle.
Another cool creature from Star Wars that is also native to Dathomir and looks similar is the Nydak from Jedi Fallen Order.

FINALLY! Another Star Wars video
I combined all the rancors (except the holo rancor) and I got a huge rancor with 6 arms and 4 wings that looks like it could live anywhere
