The glitch you tried to do didn't work because you forgot a step :
- First clear any event in the campaign mode
- Once you cleared it, immediately retry the event, and quit it when it starts again
- Then, get the car you want in the challenge series, launch an event with it and quit it immediately
- Then, launch the campaign again. If it worked, you're gonna be in the event after the one you cleared and retried, with the car you picked in challenge series.

nfs the run had so many cool cars in it. i remember way back in the day getting a charger taxi from a wheel spin and it made me so happy as a kid🤣 it’s a shame that you can’t even use half the cars when you want to though.

when i heard the first torque spit on the supra i felt the greatness of the game
NFS seems to be the only racing game franchise that is keeping my love for the genre alive at this point. Forza is a sellout and brings nothing new to the table, Gran Turismo is… mid. But NFS is always different is what I’m realizing. Only ever played Carbon on the PS2.
I had carbon on my PS3, the new vinyl designer was next level to me
exactly the latest nfs are so beautiful they suck ... shit physics and drive almost beyond belief ... at least Forza horizon even if and 1 arcade game manages to give 1 minimum of realism (in its limit of course)

I might replay this now in my 30s. When this game came out, I hated it. I didn't like how different it was to the other NFS games, I hated there was no free roam, and I hated there wasn't vehicle customization. I got used to all of that stuff as it got more advanced with each game and this game felt like a step back. After seeing many racing games over decades, I might like this different feel now.

@@gagarin777 I have been playing NFS since 1998 and The Run is definitely a top 5 for me. The Run is the worst received NFS because it does not have a quick race option, and the driving is too difficult for kids, does not mean it is a bad game. I would put NFS Undercover, Most Wanted 2012 and Payback on the bottom. The Run is engaging and super fun, I say try it yourself.
My only gripes with this game:
- Car mods are preset, can't be customized individually.
- Story is way too short. I finished the game in half a day.
Otherwise yeah, it is underrated.
Those are my only complaints too, but the experience makes up for it

@@Yaz27 Shift has a multitude of events like circuits, sprints, drags, actual car customization that makes a considerable difference, real racetracks, proper customization options, endurance races that can last over half an hour... what does The Run have? A laughably short runtime, a ridiculous and uninteresting story, quicktime events nobody asked for, cars that all handle exactly the same no matter the track surface and flying fireballs that cause avalanches. Fantastic.
This game was always highly under rated and I always played it while I was younger, felt like it was head of its time they should definitely do a remake or new game based on this style.

Personally the AI, QTE and how the game is very linear on what path you can drive on and the cars you can have in the campaign kills the enjoyment for me, It did had a good setup like Sega's Rad mobile with driving coast to coast but the execution overall was poor as hell.
Good OST though and the final race at New York without crashing once was a blast to drive at!
Using Tier 6 cars is the only reason I beat extreme difficulty.
I beat extreme in normal cars which were given, but had to keep the car to top speed at all times and had to cheese very much.
I think for why the normal top speed on the Evo here is 195 yet can do 200+ with nitrous, it's because the car's gearing _can_ get to 200+ but the car doesn't have enough power/top end power to reach 200+ by itself and settled on 195.
Basic Physics.
Nitrous (Nitrous Oxide or "NOS") is a type of force induction. When the nitrous oxide is injected into the engine, it breaks down into nitrogen and oxygen, providing an extra oxygen boost for combustion. That's why some people uses the terms "100 shots of Nitrous" meaning it can add atleast 100 horsepower to the current output of the car.
In the case of the EVO X in the game, the actual limit of the car is 195 but when you apply nitrous it forces more oxygen into the combustion thus more power more speed. When the nitrous runs out, the top speed returns back to 195.
Basic science really.
@@elayda93far as I know you can't go higher even with additional spurt of power from the nitrous if the gearing doesn't have any space left still for theoretically higher speeds. You're only just going to bang on that redline while the speed hits a wall, or worse, blow your engine.
@@PlatinumNath that's why it's just a game 🤷🏻♂ and that won't probably happen in real life. As you said, the transmission also plays a vital role in the theoretical limit of the top speed.

Me and two of my friends spent an ungodly amount online racing each other unlocking cars and racing beating challenges to unlock cars. I really miss this game. Holds a special place in my heart.

Online was great here. Unfortunately, I've started too late, in 2016 leaderboards and partially challenges were disabled, so I couldn't unlock all cars. Also why tf Classic NFS DLCs were impossible to buy? They were good, judging by the videos.
Thing abt nfs the run is that it ended with jack running from cops in a stang at the end , so they can very well make a follow up

when you turn off vsync, the car sounds are unhinged per say, because black box are using their speed engine for the physics, car sounds & particle effects. those are tied to 30fps.
thats why. hell, even like rivals,2015 & payback, & heat. they still use black box vehicle sim, while its using criterions tires & drifting etc
Do you have source on that? If i recall correctly one of the former black box devs said in an interview that the physics code of the speed engine was copyrighted to the guy who wrote it and they were not able to reuse it on modern games (like the run).
2:34 To fix the sounds you need to enable VSync of your Nvidea Panel of this game. It is because this game it is not supposed to be played with higher and 30 fps and the car sounds are not optimized.
It is kinda like how NFS UG2 had similar bug like NFS TR but instead of the sounds it was with the shifting. Overall from all Black Box NFS I have to tell you the most optimized at 60 fps is NFS Carbon.
Edit: 7:04 it uses Honda S2000 sound like the Tier 2/4 Megane RS & Tier 5 Scirocco R. The car sounds in this game are mess. The Tier 2/3 Supra sound uses less aggressive version of the NFS PS stock sound mixed with the toy_mr2_b from Burnout. If you look into the deep sound files of this game you be surprised of how mess they are. But it is understandable they didn't have a time for that.
Also the Tier 5 Supra is literally the worst performing Tier 5 car. You should try the Golf to see how op it is.
And if you complain about the shifting at 12:33 play with manual transmission then... You have a better control.

Been 170 in a lightly tuned ego x, it had more, driver had enough though. It was very stable and very fun. I forget what brand but we had put springs on it 1" drop and a slightly stiffer rate than stock.

The gearing doesn’t change, but the HP does. The stock car doesn’t got the HP to mount up to the top of the gearing. ( 14:21 )

The only thing I didn't like about this game was how stiff the cars felt, making turns was a chore.
The story is great, gameplay is quite fun, but I personally despise the NFSTR physics, it is often time faster to smash into a wall then follow up wif a nitrous (which is kinda bs)
This reminds me of Midtown Madness, where you could swap to a Star Wars pod racer in the middle of the city, while playing capture the flag. Good memories

I didn’t realize that certain cars in the game actually belong to real life drivers. The black Supra is Chris radoo’s actual Supra. There is even an article that talks about it on the speedhunters website

rado supra is my favorite car to drive in the run. its top speed and accel allow you to take corners at your own pace if you're gentle on the corners.
I like it, I just prefer Supras with TRD wings
I remember I was playing on my 360 on my moms account and I accidentally deleted her save for this game and I thought I could get back to the stage with the Koenigsegg it’s a time trial it one of the last stages before she got home let’s just say my 8 year old ass couldn’t drive for shit it took me like 3 months to get back to the stage and then another month to beat the game and my mom wasn’t happy that I beat the game before she did

Sooo reason the evo 10 topped out at 195 but would push to 210 with nos is cause even in real life cars have rpm limiters but when u add nos which is a combustion gas the engines ecu cant stop the car from increasing rpm causing the car to get a bit more speed past redline

having a faster car wont matter because this game makes the opponents always stick with you
The cars you picked were in different tiers by the way thats why they unbalanced the events the supra first shelby is a tier 4 car they all top out at about 190ish mph and have accelerations in the high 3 secs to mid 4s the supra was a tier 5 with 1k hp and a top speed of 344kmh so thats like 220ish mph?.mazda on the other hand was a tier 6 beast topping out at 402+kmh way too fast for that event lol or any event for that matter. The evo was a tier 4 made for tight city racing which is why it lost the highway event cuz you lost time when switching car that the evo unlike the others cars up to that point was unable to make up
