I'm excited for a new generation of anime fans discovering Ranma 1/2 for the first time via this remake.
They'll even get to go "oh, so that's where those anime tropes came from"
Let's be real, they'll go "this is so cliche" with no understanding that Ranma was the original.

Remake. A remaster is the same media (anime, movies, videogames) that's been retouched for enhancements, like an HD visual upgrades. A remake is a total redoing from the ground up.

Yup, still got tha original charm to it as it did 20 to 30 years ago. The original was more on Ranma and Akane’s day-to-day adventure if they go through rather than a romantic comedy. But despite their arguments they always have each other‘s backs.

She's like the only good tsundere imo. She's not needlessly cruel or rude and often behaves more like an actual person when people try to attack her (except for those students who fight her every morning)

Sir/ma'am this is not the One piece art style. Pull up a side by picture of any character, they are drawn completely different. This is more of a standard look of Modern anime that don't have a specific art style, it's generic but not in a bad way

The way the art looks just like the manga though... Damn. Ranma has been my go to comfy anime from a kid to this day. Seriously there's not a year where I don't watch a couple of seasons and the OVAs. It's a special anime for me. This looks incredible.

Rumiko is the one who made mainstream that cliche.
Akane Tendo is a trained martial artist from a martial arts family. It makes sense that she could handle a bunch of nameless weirdos.
I don't think she can beat any of the named characters (except maaaayyyyybe Kuno).
Only two days away for the series to air on Netflix.
Here’s hoping _Ranma ½_ gets a simuldub like _My Happy Marriage, Delicious in Dungeon_ and _DanDaDan_ instead of just releasing the episodes sub like what happened with _Blue Box_
Finally let’s address the "Elephant in the Room" I’m very excited for the English dub and the voice actors we’re expecting. Whether the Vancouver based actors from the original Ranma series dub will return remains to be seen, but I’m excited on who will voice Shampoo in not just the English Dub but also the Latin American Spanish Dub as well.
The actress who voice Kodachi in the english dub retired from acting and became an airline pilot.
Note, I got the actresses moxed up.

@@mitchfletcher2386 Yeah Nabiki’s voice actress has become an airline Pilot after Ranma ended and Myriam Sirois who was Akane is also retired.

As I mentioned previously, I think compared to _Eden’s Zero_ or especially the 2021 _Shaman King_ series, and _Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King_ where Netflix was able to bring back some of the actors living in New York or Dallas, TX to reprise their original roles while remote recording, but with the 2024 _Ranma ½_ remake, it’s going to be interesting but very challenging how they would get the Vancouver actors considering that Netflix and the recording studio that’s doing the English Dub, Iyuno Los Angeles hasn’t worked with any voice actors that live in the Vancouver, Canada area and the *ONLY* Vancouver voice actors that have relocated to Los Angeles are David Kaye (Shoun Tendo), Erin Fitzgerald (Kodachi’s 2nd voice) and surprisingly Michael Benyaer (Hikaru Gosunkugi), so I expect them mostly David Kaye to return.
We’ll have to wait and see, I’d be surprised if Iyuno brings in a few voice actors living in Vancouver, Canada to reprise their roles from the 1990’s Ranma anime dub such as Richard Ian Cox (Male Ranma), Brad Swaile (Mousse), Ian James Corlett, and Kelly Sheridan (Ukyo) for the 2024 remake
I think the ones not likely to return are Michael Donovan as Ryoga as he’s literally semi-retired from Animation voiceover along with the fact he hasn’t done ANY new Anime roles in Los Angeles (including Union dub roles) outside of voicing Kirei Kotomine and Zouken Matou from Fate/Zero and reprising Zouken in the Heaven’s Feel films and possibly Cathy Weseluck as Shampoo, in fact I’d be surprised if they use a different voice actress to voice Shampoo for the 2024 remake.

They didn't "update" the art style and make it soulless, that's a relief.
Yes. It looks like what Takahashi-san drew with a more modernized spin on the colors and some of the smaller touches. I'm so glad new generations get to see what this gray-haired otaku binged old-school style in college (new VHS tapes! We're staying up late!).

One of the funniest and most unique anime ever. Today's generic bland isekai/ reincarnation bullshit and trash ass shows like oshi no ko dont even compare to this masterpiece. So glad they decide to remake actual good shows like ranma.

Isakais can be done right, they did in the 90s with animes like "those who hunt elvs" (it didn't have a self insert nerd protag and generic waifus. It had like a Chad type character, a military girl and an actor traveling around in a battle tank) but modern Isakais are indeed generic regurgitated trash.
Okay, imo, Oshi no Ko ain’t all that bad… at least from what I read so far. Haven’t caught up so I can’t properly defend it, but I like what I’ve seen so far. But I do agree with especially the generic isekai being trash. It’s the same idea being regurgitated, and when they try to be unique, it’s the same thing with but with a gimmick.

As much as i think that the original didn't stray too much from the manga to warrant a remake, prefering a sequel, a more manga accurate adaptation is really cool! There is a lot of characters, relationships and plotlines from the original manga that either got shifted around or skiped over, that the character development from the og anime has diverged slightly from the manga. So finally seeing manga exclusive stuff adapted is a dream come true!
Yay Shampoo still looks beautiful as ever! I love shampoo! Either way in art style way she still looks great. I guess since Urusei Yatsura has a remastered so can Ranma 1/2. I can only imagine this is JUST the beginning. Pretty soon a lot more will be remastered.

Since most of the original VA are returning, I would've loved a continuation since there's still so much to adapt, but a remaster might be good too. I wonder if Inuyasha will receive the same treatment one day.

As for Inuyasha while it didn't get a remake, it did get a continuation with YashaHime

Why were the skater couple featured here? Weren't they basically one-and-done characters that amounted to nothing more than the "antagonists of the day" type? I'm surprised Mousse and Ukyo weren't anywhere to be seen, considering they're actually important main characters. Well, either way, I'm looking forward to this.
I love Ranma 1/2! It was one of my first Mangas I read. I never really got into the original animation series so I am excited for this new take on the animation

If the series does get dub, then they would have to bring back the ORIGINAL voice actors since they are alive.... execpt for a couple of them since they are dead but here's a fun fact: in season 1, one of the male characters was voiced by Ian James Corlett, but then replaced by Kirby Morrow
