- A truck driver in the right lane attempted a right-hand turn by turning extremely wide. The truck crossed two lanes to the left, entering the oncoming traffic lane over a double yellow line. It then continued the turn, cutting through the middle lane and crossing another set of double yellow lines into the right lane.
Very dangerous driving by the semi driver!

Watch how close the back wheels are to the curb when it finally turns, now think where thise back tires would be if it had not done the wide turn. Swallow your pride and think about it. You are in the wrong here because the truck had blinker on before starting the turn. There are to many people on the road who are in such a hurry now days they don't bother to think.

@@oatmealdog trucks with trailers and big rigs have a slightly different standard for traffic laws. Same with bicycles. I'm really not trying to be condescending but if you really think this truck is in the wrong here then you should read up on some traffic laws. Something 99% of drivers could benefit from. At this point though i really think you're just trying to get a reaction out of people 👍.
You were in the wrong. Here's the clue: when he pulls to the left, but has his directional indicating he is going right, assume he is going right. The truck has a long trailer and he needs the room to make that turn. Give way and give space to large trucks; they cannot make turns or other manuvers like a car does.

Top statement. 👍👍
@@oatmealdog Self-proclaimed "excellent defensive" driver completely disregards a turn signal.
Dunning-Kruger effect working overtime here. 💀
You keep mentioning in comments that the truck crossed multiple lanes and can’t do that. Onio motor vehicle code states that a right turn must be done “as close as practicable” to the right hand curb. If that involves utilizing multiple lanes it is permissible to do so. A quick internet search shows that even law firms that specialize in milking money from trucking companies for accidents will show that if there was an accident there you would be at a minimum partially responsible, if not entirely responsible.
“In a truck wide-right-turn accident, fault is not always straightforward. While the truck driver may be the most obvious party to blame, other factors may be at play. One common factor is the position of the other vehicle. If a car attempts to pass the truck on the right while the truck is making a wide-right turn, the car may be at fault for not giving the truck enough space to complete the turn safely. In this situation, the driver may be cited for failure to yield or reckless driving.”
Maybe because he has an extra long trailer?? And what did you think he was gonna do going that wide? I truly can’t believe you thought he was gonna turn left or go straight when he was in the correct lane to do so in the first place I mean come on buddy it’s not rocket science. @@oatmealdog the double yellow can lawfully be crossed in this circumstance, check out the Ohio Revised Code. This driver HAD to swing wide to make the turn. It’s up to you as a motorist to be aware of your surroundings and question why the truck indicated to the right but turned left. If you simply missed the signal (these things happen) then just take the L and move on.
I bet you honk at people when they honk at you for doing something wrong...
I saw this video on a dashcam compilation and searched for you as a user just to come to the comments to tell you that you are the idiot here. Any long truck like that must swing left in order to not clip the curb on the right. Some trucks even have a placard on the back warning drivers behind of this. It's basic physics.
@@oatmealdog So what do you want him to do? Just block the whole lane until midnight? Please elaborate.
@@oatmealdog As the comment above says, what exactly do you expect a truck driver to do in that situation? Please explain.
Regardless of the actual legality of crossing the double yellow line, you're completely disregarding basic common sense and sense of self-preservation here. This was obviously much longer than an average 18 wheeler, and the driver activated their right turn signal in advance of the corner. Common sense would dictate to me that this truck was turning right and had to swing that wide to literally not hit the light pole on the corner, and I would hang back. But common sense clearly isn't in play here.
If you don't believe me, about 3 seconds of Googling found this site from the state of Utah warning drivers of cars not to do exactly what you did. trucksmart.udot.utah.gov/wide-turns/
Continuing to dig in your heels here in the face of lots of comments saying you're wrong is Principal Skinner levels of being out of touch, but maybe public humiliation is your thing and I'm not about to kink shame.
@@oatmealdog Like the comment above says, what exactly did you expect the truck driver to do here? Cutting the corner any tighter than they did would result in the truck hitting the light pole on the corner.
While I can't speak to the legality of crossing the double yellow lines, you're completely disregarding common sense, sense of self preservation, and basic physics. This was clearly a long truck and he signaled right before getting to the corner. These alone are reasons to hang back until the truck has completed its turn.
This is my 2nd time replying here. I think RUclips zapped my previous comment because it contained a link to an educational page from the state of Utah warning drivers to not do exactly what you did, so I'll quote it here instead: "Never attempt to cut in along the right side as the driver maneuvers left or you way become sandwiched between the turning truck and the curb. Safe drivers will avoid the truck’s No-Zones and wait to assess the truck driver’s intent before passing. As a general rule, avoid passing trucks while turning and never pass them on the right side."
I just saw this clip in a compilation and had to come here just to react.
I' ve rarely seen someone with so little understanding of driving.
The semi-truck has its blinker on (not seen by the cammer, was he busy with something else?). There is no left lane, so what was the cammer thinking the semi was going to do? (Probably missed that as well, busy with something). The cammer also shows a complete lack of understanding how a semi-truck needs to take a tight turn.
And then the cammer runs red. How ignorant can you be?
@@oatmealdog I still don't think you're real. I think you're an AI chatbot trained exclusively on the large language models of the lunatic rantings of 45, Charlie Sheen, and Jar Jar Binks.
@@oatmealdog There's only one lane, he doesn't enter a left turn lane then turn right, he enters a yellow cross-marked section that's literally only there to assist large trucks to turn.
@oatmealdog Blinkers are very helpful indeed. They show the intention of a driver so you can respond to it. But it's a bit difficult of course when you are not paying attention.
But after reading some more reactions I believe you very well know you were completely in the wrong. You just want interaction and replies. That's really shamefull I must say about the Internet presently.
You're the one at fault. Trucks need extra space to make wide turns. In this case, you can see that the longer trailer barely cleared the curb, even with the wide turn. The truck driver clearly signaled that they were turning right, you didn't have any patience to wait and attempted to pass. This isn't a complicated thing, it's common sense.
@@oatmealdog
The driver handled the turn just fine. It's the turn that isn't accommodating for longer vehicles.
Pay attention. Stop running your mouth.
@@oatmealdog ... You're just making yourself look like more of an idiot. A vehicle that size with a trailer physically can't make sharp turns, nothing to do with the driver.

You're getting killed in the comments section on other channels. But it's all for engagement, right? Right? That's the only way I can understand your comments about the truck driver.
@@oatmealdog What I did witness was a truck driver use a turn signal and execute a right-hand turn as I've witnessed many other truck drivers do in all my years of driving. If he didn't turn the way he did, it would have been a problem. You did stop and not get hit by the turning truck. Congratulations, I guess? What is bewildering is you uploading your video with your comments. Have you ever even seen a truck before? I'm pretty confident if there was a cop behind the truck, he would not have a problem with the way the truck turned. One last question: Did you witness the turn signal? We all could. So what were you expecting the truck to do?

@@oatmealdog from section 9 of the ohio digest of motor vehicle laws:
"Give large vehicles plenty of room to maneuver a turn. Trucks or buses may make a wide right turn from
the left lane to clear the corner of a curb or other obstruction. Do not squeeze between the large vehicle
and the curb, as it will cause a serious crash. Let the large vehicle make its turn before driving up into the

"Do not cut off a large vehicle in traffic or on the highway to reach an exit or turn, or to beat a truck into a

What great situational awareness you have! What do you think he was trying to do with his right indicator on, turn left? The truck did nothing wrong and i hope you respond to my comment since you obviously don't have anything better to do with your time :)
Truck make wide turns.. he had his indicator on to show that he was turning right. If you don't know this, then you need your license taken away.
@oatmealdog you realize those stripes are for the trucks? They didn’t just decide part of the road shouldn’t be driven on. It’s for instances where large vehicles like fire trucks and semis can safely make the turn. Or it can also be for lane changes and lane spacing.
It’s ok to make mistakes everyone does. As long as you learn from this and drive safer in the future you’re all good. Watch for blinkers especially on vehicles that need to make wide turns. Not all vehicles drive like cars or are required to drive like cars.
This is the reason why people should be in a truck for one day while taking their drivers license!
They will understand the limits of the trucks and maybe even respect them a bit (more)!
YOU cammer, is the problem in this case as you dont understand how a truck works!
And now you're deleting some of your own responses to comments, hilarious
I know that comprehension and critical thinking aren't your strong points, but if you look at that red blinky light on the end of his trailer, you notice that it's a turn signal thats indicating a right turn. Next time youre around semis look at the back of them and you'll probably see a big sticker that says "this truck makes wide turns" or similar. Read that slow, and try to understand what it means.
Re-watch your own video and see how close his trailer tires get to that curb. He couldn't have turned sharper, but you certainly should try to be sharper
