I am absolutely speechless . . . Except for this: My deepest, most heartfelt thanks to you both. Just the fact that you read The Edan Trilogy was wonderful enough. But this . . . I don't have words. And how cool that Ed saw The Two Towers on the day Will was born!
We can’t wait to chat with you about all things Edan again soon, sir! It’s truly been a pleasure experiencing the wonderful (and quite bloody) world you created. Ed
Can you awesome brothers place put the titles of the book on the screen when you discuss them or do a close up of the book so it will ve easier to know the title? 😊
I finished the Warlord Chronicles a few days back and can’t possibly rave enough about it. Splendid storytelling and characters and interpretation. Not to mention the action.
Do you guys do a bookclub? You both seem like 2 people who'd be great to discuss books with while reading/after reading. Got a bunch of these books to add to my long list TBR haha, thanks! Im not aure i have a favorite series. I really enjoyed Black Company that i recently finished a few weeks ago! (I tend to go for trilogies over series most of the time.)
Great vid lads. I always get some great recommendations from these vids. I just picked up Traitor's Blade and Sword in the Storm for Kindle. I love the Warlord Chronicles and The Rise of Sigurd. I finished the Edan trilogy last month and thought it was excellent. Looking forward to part 2.
Great video. You guys just keep adding to my tbr. I read the Wolf Den trilogy. Loved it so much, thanks for the rec. Also The Winter King trilogy. Love that series. It's so good, it stays with you. I love Bernard Cornwell.
Great list and video. Finishing Eden Trilogy right now (50% through final book), really enjoy Phillips work. Your descriptions make me want to read the rest of the items. Keep up the good work.
I honestly don't have a TON of series that I remember wholly. I only recently started getting back into reading, so it's been ~20 years since I've done any serious reading. I used to read alot of the Star Wars books back in my teenage years, and remember fondly the Han Solo and Boba Fett origin series as some of my favorites. But out of all the series I've read, one has always stayed with me, and that's 'The Song of Albion' series by Stephen R. Lawhead. It was excellent, and one of my first real forrays into fantasy books. I actually think you guys would like that series. Seems right up your alley.
re the name Polyneikes: It's even cooler if you know what the name means. πολύς ("polys") means many, νέκυς ("nekys") means corpse. So Polyneikes means "he who has created many corpses", aka "he who killed many people". In Antigone, Antigone's brother is also called Polyneikes. It's an awesome name
Hmmm. Ive tried to read Winter King twice and DNF twice. Meanwhile Saxon Tales I cruised right on through all 13 volumes with only mild speed bumps along the way. Im going to need to force myself to read the Warlord trilogy though for sure. Winter King just seems so boring compared to the narrative voice of Uhtred.
That's a shame! I feel that The Winter King is a slow start but by the end it is the most exciting of all of Cornwell's writing - particularly books 2 and 3. Uhtred is fun and I love reading about the Danish invasion of Britain, but Warlord Chronicles imo are a cut above the rest of Bernard's stuff. Ed
@@thebrothersgwynne I think I just need to get through the first book and then I'll be good. I'm a couple hundred pages in. One thing I did love was seeing the Saxons as the pagan invaders and the characterization of Guinevere and Lancelot. I actually can't wait to read Kristians Lancelot to wash the distaste from my mind.
@@dianneeagle4686 I think the problem could be that I've tried reading it on the Kindle app for my phone. I generally prefer the physical copy. I'm spending all of this month reading the Landmark Thucydides I recently picked up and then I plan on reading Gates of Athens as a way to both entertain myself and reengage with Thucydides. Then I'm going to order the Warlord books physically and commit myself to their completion haha. If that fails then I'll try the audiobooks for sure.
If you're putting the covers of the series on the thumbnail, well i can argue you're already answering the question to your video. People think "oh ok those are your 10-5 picks then no need to open the video". Anyway that's just what i feel, it might be nonsense.
But it wasn’t all of the series. And knowing the order will make a difference too. Also it’s important for people to get a vibe of the kind of books that are going to be talked about, especially people who are new to the channel ❤

The Edan trilogy is also one of my all time favorites, it's so amazing!! I definitely plan to reread it. Great job!
@@drewselby1 Cheers, Drew!
Shout out to Will for introducing a load of us to The Wolf Den Series!!!!!!! 🎉

And I assume you share our hatred of Lancelot 😂
Ed
Oh now I need to check all of those books out 😍 Really enjoyed the video, guys! I'm definitely subscribing.
I hope you do! Which ones in particular grabbed your eye? Thanks so much for subscribing :). Happy reading!
Will
Read the warlord chronicles because of you guys and loved it! Next stop the Edan Trilogy for sure!
We love to hear that! Hope you love the Edan trilogy too.

They do over on their discord! ❤ this month we’re reading Hyperion!

Traiter’s Blade is on my reading list 😃

I read Way of Edan right after Faithful & Fallen and now they have blended together in my head 🤪 but loved both series
😬 you must read them both again to unblend them!
Ed
Great lists, guys! I can't wait for the top 4! Warlord Chronicles is on my top 10 too.
Thanks for watching Josh!

Definitely a couple more series added to the tbr

I am ashamed I still haven't read any Gemmell... oopsies. Very great lists, can't wait to see the top 5!
Shock horror!!! Hah, just kidding. So many books, so little time!

I recently reread the Rigante books. The series is a banger!
They’re toooo good!

Adding to TBR list.....
We are the Dead trilogy was excellent. I hope he has some more books planned.
I really need to get to book 3. He’s a great writer.
Ed
good stuff guys
Cheers for watching!
Ed
Have you guys read the long war series by Christian Cameron? It's also about the Greco-Persian war
Read the first 2. Great series so far.
Ed
This is not at all a controversial placement. I think anyone at all surprised by this has likely not finished the series yet.
Which one are you referring to?
Ed
@@thebrothersgwynne sorry 😆, I was referring to Edan Trilogy.
When you guys say.. papa gwynn are we talking to John gwynn? You guys related to him?
They are his sons. I was surprised when i first found their channel too haha.
Yep!
Ed
Wait, how much older is Ed? I always assumed you were about the same age lmao.
Will is 21, I’m 27 😊

I loved the Warlord Chronicles but I've seen many people have problems until they try the audiobooks. Maybe try that route?
