Thursday-Friday IONITY had a massive outage in Europe which prevented from charging with third party apps. When I had to charge Thursday afternoon it didn’t work. The problem wasn’t fixed before Friday afternoon. Very disappointing response times in a season where many people are on the road using charging apps from their car brands. It’s possible the people you saw at the charger had this exact problem. Many people use Elton with IONITY, for example.

One car also showing that battery preconditioning is active is the Hyundai Ioniq 6, probably after updating the same goes for the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6. It shows a spiral that is very well known by ancient diesel drivers.
If you had selected efficient mode, the car would only use the rear motor for max range but if you accelerate hard in efficient mode, the car will use both front and rear motors to give the standard level of performance

When you're driving in adaptive cruise control and you want to switch lanes just slightly hold down the blinker (don't press it down all the way) in the direction you want to go and the car will turn into the lane itself.

I don't think the i7 is comparable to the Model S as its much bigger, heavier and is a segment above the Model S in terms of luxury & comfort. The upcoming BMW i5 later this year will be directly competing with the Model S.

You don't need to put it in neutral to coast. You can just put it in adaptive regen and the car will coast when possible based upon the gps and sensors
@@bjornnyland - Yes, it does. The i4 as well. You can see it using the widget that shows the car. These BMWs either recharge or coast automatically in adaptive mode. Not that it would serve the purpose of your test necessarily, but it does coast automatically.
The reason why I don't use auto coasting is that if I get too close to a car in front it might regen. That's why I use N on all cars I test. And I also see that even if some cars coast in what appears to be no regen, many OBD tools like Car Scanner might report slight regen in the "no regen" mode but then no regen at all in N. So now you know.
Honest question why should a "normal" person buy a i7 or EQS? You can't park these cars anywhere given they're 5.2m or even 5.37m. Or are there special parking spots I haven't heared of yet.
The i7 is clearly designed for other markets (China, US), and also not with the driver mainly in mind. I think it’s a typical chauffeur‘s car, with the cockpit being very similar to the i4, but the luxury in the rear being significantly upgraded. The EQS is clearly not a car made for the city either. However, living in a rural area of Germany, traveling a lot for work over long distances, and not usually needing to park in the major cities, it’s quite a great car for me. Perfect for Autobahn travel.
@@Scrap-press In a city parking lot: very difficult to find. I more rural areas and smaller towns, there is usually no problem to park it. It’s long, but not wider than other cars I’ve driven. Also, it’s very maneuverable with its‘ 10 degree AW-Steering
And while it is technically correct, it's still vague in the way that the car won't be consuming the displayed energy in an hour, as the consumption is subject to variation. If the preheater runs for half an hour at 10kW, and then shuts off, the average kWh/h figure would be 5kWh/h. That's why kW is a clearer way to convey this information.
The buttons are crystal, the diamonds is in the speakers. And there is a difference between natural diamonds and industrial diamonds (aka lab diamonds). The industrial diamonds are way cheaper because they can be made in lab, but will not have the same purity and refraction quality of a natural diamond. Keep in mind even natural diamonds have different grades. You can have two different 1 karat diamond, and they could have different values, due to grading.
Also industrial diamonds usually serve a utility purpose, for example, diamond drill heads, whereas diamonds in jewellery only serve the purpose of beauty and lustre. So they are both graded with different standards
You know that the sound system in this video i7 is standard bower and wilkins. You can order the diamond surround system but your i7 doesn't have the diamond surround B&W (+5000+) euro. The diamond surround system always has led lights in the speakers. On another note, the bmw i7 sound is normal quality the standard and diamond surround. All the other bmw's B&W diamond surround systems are high-quality hifi systems, the bmw i7 is not even close, it sounds like the Harman Kardon bmw 5/ 7 series systems. But if you want the best sound worth every cent THE BMW IX B&W diamond surround is platinum. No other car produces this quality.

So creeping along with 120km/h this hideous brick consumes 25kWh/100km. In the winter in Germany this is the equivalent of 150 - 170g CO2/km. This is the equivalent of 6,5 - 7,5l?100km petrol. Not to mention the 10.000kg CO2 emitted for battery production.
According to the Statista website, in 2021 the German electricity supply produced an average of 0.349 kg of CO2 per kWh of electricity. So 25 kWh would produce 8.73 kg of CO2. A petrol burning engine produces about 2.31 kg of CO2 per litre of petrol. So the i7 is currently producing CO2 equivalent to 3.8 litres of petrol per 100 km when driving at 120 km/h at the temperatures in the video, which is probably about one-third of a similarly size petrol car. That number will decrease as electricity generation from renewable sources increases.

Battery heater is 5.5 kW, obd2 app will show battery pack temperature and SOC in i7.

Not sure if the Model S is the correct car to compare. The upcoming i5 will have almost the same dimensions as the Model S. The i7 is 5.4 meters long.

I think the map display assumes that you are driving at the speed limit whilst the driver display reads from the battery and speedo.
But I was driving at 90 km/h which was 20 km/h *below* the speed limit. So there goes your theory...
