SFPD Cancels Children's Egg Hunt

"Old National Entertainment & Bless O.N.E. Foundation's annual Egg Hunt has been canceled. Mayor khalid alleges the shutdown is an act of retaliation for his exposing corruption within the police department. In a statement to the city he writes:
The same Councilpeople who bullied our City Manager into resigning and filed a lawsuit to have me removed from office have joined forces with a Police Chief i referred to the GBI (for a cover-up of his department's corruption) to shut down an Egg hunt for children.
Folks can debate permits and paperwork, but at the end of the day, the City shut down an Egg Hunt for children in an empty & available park - even when Sheriff’s and EMS officers, organized by the Mayor’s Office, were on scene to ensure everyone was safe.
It is hurtful to see so many officials work together to stop something good from happening. i had hoped that my election as Mayor would put an end to our dysfunctional government, but this and other events should make clear to South Fulton voters that there is more housecleaning to do. City Council elections are coming this November."
