I have a 98 F-150 and my fuel gauge is stuck on Full all the time, I think, because the voltage regulator was bad or went out on the alternator. I've since replaced the alternator and battery and tested all fuses and relays and still nothing.
My 2011 Ford F150 was on Full. I drove 40 miles and the gas light came on. I put gas in and it only took 10gallons. It holds about 22 gallons. Would anyone please help me with understanding this problem?
That's normal it keeps lifetime average mpg in computer even if you reset the on dash mpg calculator. Now if you disconnect battery it will recalculate tank at factory settings but drive it a month and that average will start to build in the computer again. So even though your screen says 16.6 its averaging your life mpg since battery disconnect at about 14.2 mpg. Take a long highway trip then fill up and it will jump up
What was rhe problem? Happens to my 2011 f150

I have the same problem, 36 gallon tank. It should read about 700 mi to empty after a fillup, it says only 407!!!
Same with mine. It's a V8 though so it should say about 520 miles on full

Did anyone ever say anything about the sending unit? That could very likely be the problem
So disconnect and reconnect battery??
