Always fascinating watching and listening to Travis Fields, very skilled and knowledgeable
Im a filipino welder and working all my life in the middle east as a pipe welder with alloys and stainless gtaw + smaw. Learning from other welder is great and helpful for those aspiring like me.This guy is awesome i admire this guy how he welds aluminum which my entire welding career i never did. Great job man!!! Highest salute for you and respect. ♥️♥️♥️
I love how Travis knows literally every aspect of every material he’s working with. I wish i could’ve met you down in Houston awhile back while i was working in giddings. You’re an idol to many brother
I ran across Fields about two months ago and was instantly impressed. For such a young guy he is very intelligent and skilled in the welding field. Wish I knew him personally to help improve my skillset
Absolutely superb from the technical stuff through to hand positioning and filler wire pushing using different hand and finger manoeuvres. Top notch!
This guy is sharp! Thanks guys. God bless you all !
Saved the day again Travis! Well done as usual!
Priceless, thanks for the collaboration. Keep them coming.😎. Tim
Very intelligent young man. Thanks to WeldTube for having him on. Great job guys. Thanks
This vid is just definitive Aluminium tut!..... Channel is so on point...Travis is a beast!.....
Nice explanation. Didn't expect to watch such long video without stopping but this was too interesting! Good job!
Thanks so much for this very technical explination. I have 3 alum x ray test starting tomorrow. I really appreciate droping that knoweldge out here in the tube land!!!!
Nice job guys,An awesome in site into pipe welding for critical application and a very in depth look why and how thing happen with different metals.
2 things i have been doing wrong on pipe,1 wire bushing in both directions ,2 to much torch angle and poor filler rod coverage.
Thanks Travis for sharing your knowledge and the weld tube crew for bringing it to the big screen ! ! :)
I worked with Travis up North excellent welder and wonderful manners.
Awesome video man Travis is one smart fella thanks for the great video 🙏🔥
Aluminum is super tricky. Especially getting into tig mig even stick. This is the only metal I haven’t fully learn. Talking bout all those steps I can see it working out better in that order. I haven’t been on jobs where it’s 2000’ of aluminum pipe. I’ve always had a headache getting the flow. Very great advice I’ve learned a lot bout the metallurgy and composition.
WOW ,,this guy is amazing, so technical.
The boy can weld with either hand , I like it . He’s a professional
Its crazy amazing how he talks like he doesn't make any sense but i can understand him perfectly at the same time
Filderes is this boss.this young guy can out shine alot of the guys i know.its nice to see y'all bringing in someone with talent.
Whole lot of talent in this video. Been watching a long time. Big fan of you guys. Thanks for sharing. Never ending learning in the trade. Props from Mississippi
Awesome video! very informative
Thank you for featuring field res, he's a legend man!
that dude is my hero
and you are for bringing him on
Oh shit , what's up BAWV!?, I'm from RI, and follow your vids as well. Most of my work is ship welding, commercial fishing repair. Grew up on the water. We have the same supergeek glasses, lol. Fieldres is badass!
Get some sleep, don't you have to work tomorrow?
What I mean is that this young man has the type of audience such as young folks and Hispanic (no disrespect) and whoever else that will listen to him. Teach young man. Help give others confidence and a knowledge or skill that helps them work and thank God for hope.
A lot of geniuses don’t know how to speak ..you have to interpret there speech his intelligence is threw the roof ... a very educational video 🤙🏽
Idk. Most of what he says is basic knowledge you need for aluminum welding.
Or he’s nervous to be on camera lol
@@jca66 the basics are where everyone fucks up. Welding isnot complicated
@@calebc6028 listening 20 seconds to him is enough to know he knows more than the basics, this man studies his materials...
I was thinking the same thing that he might be nervous.
Travis is a master welder not a presenter
Travis is one bad dude I learned a lot watching this thank you
travis spot on mate well done and well explained on the channel ,,
The knowledge he has for kids of these days is impressive and he shows skills ...
very impressive tutorial. I've got try this out with my everlast powertig welder. there is so much to learn from these guys.
Love how raza doing it big. Love watching the channel
Very good. Lots of information.
Alot information in one class great!
No. God has given this man passion for welding and the ability to teach or be able to articulate what he learned from another man. He learned the difference in melting temp of aluminum from the older man he done a video with on welding aluminum coupons. A person that can listen to another with GOOD knowledge, remember it, and pass it on is worth listening to because he's not replacing truth with his own truth. God bless you.
Passed my first Aluminum test in the MiG process yesterday, never welded aluminum prior to that
Great seeing such together youngguns in welding. South Africa used to have so many. Most split for Oz, Nz....
The "extended land" prep is also used on Chrome/Moly Steel high pressure steam piping.
It's technically called a J-bevel. The idea is to make a fusion weld similar to sanitary welding to create a flush root and consistent results almost to the point of using an orbital machine.
Olhando assim até se torna fácil kkkk. Congratulations dude!! Show🔥🔥🔥
Very good aluminum welder 😍tomorrow i have test, this is my 1st choice, i was conception your welding in brains
Thanks guys for bringing him to Texas he’s a master welder !!!!!!!! Priceless information and instructions!!!!!!!!!
Love this all you guys
It definitely helps when you understand how the characteristics of the material and filler material. One thing about welding, it’s chemistry and construction
Travis is THEE BEST welder out there! Prove me wrong!!!
e_z_squeezy check out 6061. Com
Aaron from 6061 is a great welder but coming fom the automotive world to the pipe world iv learned its 2 different types of welding i can lay some dabs on intercoolers and turbo hot sides with the best of them but when i did my first root fill and cap i struggled because it was a whole different kind of welding but travis and aaron are both masters of their skills just different kind of work
This is great 👍
Good job man..
Dude is a beast
Man this is freaking educational. Thanks for al that in depth information. 🙏 And where to find that welding cap? that's a nice cap man.
This young man is pretty amazing
Wow dude just WOW!
Holy smokes get this guy a TIG FINGER!! that black pad looks terrible to deal with!
This guy seems like the kind of dude to wash his hands 4 times
Listen to the audio with headphones on!
It sounds like someone is playing with a giant slinky in the back room!😩
Seriously in depth information, thanks. 👍
awesome job thank--canada
Fields must be well-read if he's familiar with unconscious competence. Bravo. Brilliant man.
He loves what he does. He lives it. a sliver, Great example, of American spirit!!!
@@OZKARBOMEGA He's Canadian, not american👍
Wow very good
awesome!
Gotta love some peaceful, quiet aluminum tig welding 👍 (heavy sarcasm guys)
Great instructional video. What amperage did he use? He seems to have welded a good length of root there without stopping as aluminum tends to be so hot it just melts on you without warning. Another thing I’d like to commend him for is how he followed the steps for a previous job. Non-welders think it’s as simple as melting two and two together without taking things into consideration. X-Ray or not, it still need to be structurally sound and you can’t achieve such a product by rushing and skipping certain steps.
nice root run you would be good on doing carbon pipe as well. I that's a good technique on carbon pipe 30/30 2.5 with 2.5 I use lay wire I don't like back feeding you get to much penetration. I found if I run at 100 amps with that setup and slow feed to build up my root run I get max 1.5 reinforcement perfect for LNG liquefied natural gas lines
What tool/tools did u use to bevel the aluminum pipe?
Have to keep your rod in your shielding gas though out all GTAW welding.
You rock man mass respect
I'll say one thing the dude does two things very often and very well, welding and plug JRB College of Welding.
Steve just Steve it’s GRB Welding
12:19.. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I couldn't stop laughing!! Yeah oh I'm sorry I'm talking can you shut up a second! 🤣 dont interup daddy when he's talking🤣
travis knows his shit
He got him to say "personal preference" 🤣
Is the number 12 cup the best size. Was this a gas lens ? Wish he covered this topic . Thanks Mike
Loves a bit of Mansplaining does ol' Travis lol
I like the higher freq and higher pen for a tighter bead with less cleaning action
Dude Travis have a tongue ring lol wth 😄
Keep the file well dusted with Tac/Soapstone/French Chalk.
*Very nice at the end. Never lift the cup. Let the gas cover/cool your tungsten to prevent contamination.*
For what application or process is aluminum piping used for?
This is a great article for it
Slick!!!
Can someone elaborate on the gasline anti freeze and cleaning the aluminum filler with it... Does it work the same as with acetone or does it have other characteristics? Like the water removing capabilities from the gasline anti freeze does it have any effect on the filler material?
Thanks in advance
So, what’s the heat setting that he use to do the aluminum root, and what’s the heat temperature setting for the cap ?
Nice root
Is there argon entered the tube like stainless
What happens to the 30% water in the rubbing alcohol? Is that not a potential problem? New to welding in general, thnx!
Do what was your amperage through the whole root?
Nice breakdown.
Nice boss✊️🤘
Question for weld tube what does travis have on his hand with the tig torch is that some sort of heat Shield for his torch hand? What exactly is it
Walter Diczhazy I think it’s just a pad that allows him to slide both his hands evenly on the pipe
I’ve been welding for quite sometime but lack skills on rig. How do I get info on your school?
hello bro how to weld alluminum because in my welding machine if I use AC the sounds if i start welding is very noisy. not the same as your sounds good. what is the exact settings bro pls teach me..
Wow! Is cool
I want to try...o mean do it too!
2” Stainless I feel is harder
Real dep dude!😁
this Jerry must be a legend
Nice
How much amps was he on a root pass?
I no longer feel like I’m OCD. This guy is truly passionate about welding. If you wanna do it right, dive in practice your a** off.
Perfeito
What are the welding parameters like current, voltage, ac frequency, ac balance, gas flow
Wow!!
Deixando um Like
Does anyone know why he tapped everything off? Was the pipe purged? I’ve done quite a bit of aluminum pipe just never open root, mainly fillet.
Purple or orange for Tig welding aluminum
Badass
What was the book called Travis mentioned? I cant quite catch the name of it
NLP neurolinguistic programming he mentioned a few times. Did he say an actual book title?
