- These tips BLEW MY MIND when I learned them back in the day when learning how to tig weld. I learned these from a few people who passed a couple of these tips on, and I learned some of them from nearly 20 years of teaching how to tig weld professionally. Grab a coffee and come hang with me for this one🔥

😌 watching outstanding welds makes me happy again
You are a weapon on tig, your explanations are clear and to the point. Well done
Thank you SO MUCH my friend . i appreciate you watching so much and hope youre doing awesome!!
Tu es l’un des meilleurs soudeur alu 👏🏼
Your are a very good TIG guy love to watch alot of your video. I have been a welder for 28years and appreciate seeing how you weld. . Perhaps you can cover CWB or AWS tests. And using less dominate hand. .which we know as a must in industrial settings. . .thanks
You give the best information. Thank You
Thank you for the professional education!!
Thanks for a great practice idea dusty. Definitely looks like a fun one to try!
Great explanation and much appreciated.
Nice work ❤❤❤😊
Yay! This one is like the old videos. I love it!
Man that’s a really awesome looking weld and great explanation thanks for sharing!
Wow you definitely perfected it.
Beautiful job 👏👏👏👏
Your studio lighting is on point
Very useful tipps... thanks so much... lerning so much since I watch youre videos 😉
Great welding. :)
Amazing welds bro!!
so bad ass, great stuff ! thanks !
Super comme toujours
Merci
very nice! 🤩
Great job Brother. 🤘🔥
Dude! Your a GOD! Thank you
Great job
That scribe trick is slick
Luv the scribe mark 👌💪… simplest things 😉
I never thought I'd see a video where you suggest cutting corners in our work. 😂
I've been enjoying your channel for a while now.. and has improved my welding....
Question. I wish to fabricate a swing arm on a motorcycle project of mine... do you think it necessary to heat treat after welding or not necessary?
Just from a view point of the weld.. not structural design..
Material choice ? 6061 "t" rating ??
Actually it would be interesting if you could da whole video, with destructive tests comparing post heat treatment and grades of aluminium..
Cheers Paul, Australia 🇦🇺
Nice!
Nice job
Great lesson 💪
Thanks so much! 🔥🔥
Beautiful
Very nice presentation, and way better than the surrpise vids
Agradeço a Deus por sua vida e por vc ensinar eu sendo soldador admiro muito sua abilidade
man I have to get more practice in, my stainless tig was still amatuer level last time I ran practice coupons (4-6"x3" stainless flat stock, standard coupons in the flat pos)
Sao tôi hàn lại có tiếng nổ lẹt đẹt của tungten và đường hàn không bóng như của bạn,bạn dùng khí ARGON hay H2+ARGON
It looks to me like you might be left handed, I'm pretty sure that means that everything I learn from you is going to be backwards and upside down? 😁 Thank You for the videos, they are great.
I have weld envy
I was thought to never cut corners
Does “pretty” equal “stronger” then ugly welds? I’ve only done mig welding on dump trucks And always worried about welds breaking which never happened but always wondered if those welds that look like a roll of dimes on its side were as strong as my two and three pass popcorn welds😂
Joint design and prep, along with a weld that fully penetrates and fully fills the joint is what matters for strength. Making it pretty is always nice, and avoiding distortion is an art.
I see people doing lap welds on the bench all the time but I've been fabricating for years now and never really had this weld joint come up on projects. Is there an industry where this is common or do people just do them because they are easy?
The only time I encounter lap joints is on compensation plates, and I'd get a stern talking to for not fully penetrating both parent metals like this guy has done.
Looks fancy, but wouldn't pass a ndt or a dt.
sharp corners are prone to cracking!! welding a radius corner is the correct way to eliminate fracture
i dont production weld, but in my fab shit, i have never come across a lap joint
You should think about doing a giveaway....Like a one on one lesson and free access to your classes. Just a thought......I'm just poor..lol
It is not a good idea to have sharp corners on lap welds or square rings. This may end up as a stress intensification leading to a premature failure. That is a great technique that you have shown.
Ok Dad...
@@YAWN.... The nice thing about class clowns is that they show us all that they're, well, clowns.
Thank you for reminding us of this important structural design consideration. I know I've been guilty of getting in a hurry and failing to be mindful of things like this.
@@branchandfoundry560 To learn the significance of this in welded structures, look up the failures of the Liberty ships during WWII. The failures tended to start at the corners of the hold hatches. The other significant item of these failures was that the ships were essentially a riveted design that was welded. This occurrence led to the development of an engineering field called fracture mechanics. This field was the focus of my graduate studies in engineering.
Please correct me if I’m wrong but this is aluminum right? It would be great if you simply specified the “material” you are actually welding because this is a huge difference between aluminum and stainless.
If you work with metal, it’s assumed you can look and tell the difference between aluminum and stainless
@@michaelchaney5962 it’s not always obvious when it’s cleaned up.
Smooth clean and consistent but would of welded from start to finish without stopping. Nice work though
Whatta ya wanna bet this guy has a rap album about welding?
Hmm, never seen a left handed welder in action. Looks nice though.
Nice welding thanks LARRYMOORE
This is so difficult.
Why not just do it in one pass
You and 6061, lefties, I gotta flip my brain, everything is backwards....great stuff though.
4:28 jesus that is pretty.
Is 40 too old for welding?
No
No get after it!
🪙🪙💙💚💛
🪙🪙🪙
Easier to follow you watching one camera while you talk. Why do you film with another camera to watch the side view and go back and forth? Less artsy fartsy and more welding
Boring
That looks awesome Dusty. Also it is absolutely amazing to see how far your channel has come since the beginning. You rock Bro. 🪙🪙
Greg you rock. I appreciate you so much bro🔥🔥 Happy Father's Day🔥🔥
