a drive along Stockport Road from Longsight to Levenshulme and back to Longsight again, and then continuing along Stockport Road to the roundabout at Ardwick Green.
Came across this site by chance. I've lived in South England, for past 50 years. I lived on stockport Road, Longsight, Manchester, in 1945, I was kid at that time. We lived next to Longsight Library ( I noticed on this Video, Library, Building still there ) my parents home no longer there, modern homes there now. The area completely unrecognisable. Sorry for being boringly nostalgic. Peace to all
Yes, there have been lots of changes since 1945. There's a new modern library, with a glass front, near Kirkmanshulme Lane in place of the old one. The old pubs and banks have all gone. Longsight market is now on Dickenson Road, it used to be near Devonshire Street. You would probably still recognise many of the streets, even though many of the buildings have changed.
Thanks for this Steve, it's invaluable for someone like me to see places i haven't seen for about 40 years. So much has changed.
Glad you enjoyed it
nice one steve lad thanks for this upload many people here love your videos
Glad you like it, Steven. I'll try and get round to doing a few more soon.

I recall the Market, near Devonshire Street, was Ardwick Market ( just saying )
I remember the Wheatsheaf pub on the Stockport Road. Lived on Cringle Road for a while in the early 70s. Playing 10cc’s Rubber Bullets on the jukebox…

I grew up near the midway pub, it’s sad to see the state of the place now, it’s like a third world country.
Recognized nothing last time in Britain was 1973 born on kirky lane saw nothing at all
