I love the opening falsetto love cry sung by Lloyd Parks and his falsetto voice throughout the song. The whole song is well done ❤❤❤❤❤

Check them out with Sharon Paige singing "Hope That We Can Be Together Soon." There a Soul Train video where they actually sing live. It's excellent.

    The key to this song:
Teddy is singing the man’s thoughts as he’s calling the woman hoping she will answer the phone. She finally picks up and Harold Melvin is doing the actual talking to her while Teddy continues to sing the subconscious thoughts that he cannot bring himself to verbalize out loud.

Back in the day when those songs came out the message you hear on the phone we called that "Rappin" you know to get that conversation started you had to "Rap" to your girl facts!

Teddy ALL DAY......this group was NOTHING without Teddy.....Harold was actually jealous that Teddy was getting all the recognition.....lolllll.....but he wasnt mad at the fact that in the beginning most thought because of name of group that most thought Harold was singing lead......Teddy had enough of Harold and group and wised up and went solo and the rest is history....great reaction

Teddy pendergrass the great. You know you must be cold when the lead guy put his name on the marquee just to throw everybody, but everybody coming back for you.. Ohh, the charade, the masquerade of it all. Had everybody thinking Harold Melvin had pipes. 😂 😂 😂,

I thought that whoever that was talking was the weakest part of this song. No wonder Teddy left.

That was Harold Melvin that was talking💀 but I wouldn’t say it was a weak asset to the song🤣🤣

It's kind of sad that these young brothers are too pushed to not express these feelings in music anymore. It's all sex and flex these days. THIS is what FEELINGS feel like.
