I've got my Buddy 50 to 51mph via GPS on flat ground and 57mph downhill. Exhaust, derestricted, contra, springs, weights, rejet. $300 total. For best street manners, I set it up to max out around 45-47mph on flat ground and only loses 2-3mph on hills. I'm 210lbs so not exactly a small rider.
I added a windscreen. And a scooter works non-catalytic exhaust... My buddy now does a true GPS 40 mph..( 45 reading on the speedo) and 45 to 50 on the GPS downhill... I weigh 275...
We have been kicking around the idea of doing a Hooligan Vs Buddy 170i We would do a full comparison on them, including a top speed run. Anything else you'd find valuable in such a video?
Thank you! I love my 2022 Buddy 50, so far her top speed was 41.6 mph (GPS). Speedometer about 4 mph optimistic. I would LOVE to see this speed test on Buddy Kick 125, please! I am thinking of getting one.
@@SiegfriedsMotorwerx Oh my gosh I cannot wait! I did a very brief test ride on one a few weeks ago and fell in love. Ordered one for 2023. Cannot wait! to hear what you have to say about them! You rock!
Nice video always nice to know the true speed can you do the same run on the vespa please I'm assuming it's a 150cc as we over here in the UK can only ride the 125cc version and they tend to do a real sat nav speed of 55mph but 60mph plus on the factory speedo
Also add a primo windscreen and a scooter works non-catalytic exhaust..(looks just like the original exhaust but non-catalytic).. you can tuck in behind the windscreen and gained 5 mph faster with the windscreen and non catalytic exhaust.. also your engine will run much cooler which is better for the engine with the non-catalytic exhaust
You found a flat stretch in Central PA? They are few and far between! But your tests results were about the same. Thanks for speeding my scoot up a bit! Now it averages 45-50 gps mph (as opposed to bmph)
I hear you can unlock a lot of the Buddy 50’s potential with an upgraded exhaust, variator and an aftermarket carburetor with better tuneability. Copped a $350 Buddy Pamplona 50, so I’m gonna see how fast I can make it go on the stock cylinder.
Is a scooter works non-catalytic exhaust.. it will give you a little more power and keep your engine running cooler... Also invest in a windscreen... Between the exhaust and windscreen my buddy 50 does 40 mph GPS 45 on the speedometer on level ground and 45-50 downhill or downgrade... I weigh 270 lb
My 2022 Roughhouse base model, when restricted, registered 37 on a radar speed limit indicator on a flat road. Since those are about 2 mph optimistic then I guess you could say 35 is top speed. Pretty good for a 49cc I think. But....I had it derestricted recently and the fastest I registered after a few attempts driving passed that same radar indicator was 40. So while I gained a few mph after the derestriction, I was slightly disappointed. I thought I would be able to get at least 42. Maybe it's just the Sport that can get to that speed. I also don't have a windshield and didn't tuck or try anything else that others say make the bike faster. I have to say though, my Roughhouse is definitely faster off the line than it was when restricted.
Forgot to add, if I'm going downhill at any angle on the Roughhouse the needle will hug 50 mph as long as I have the throttle at least half open. So while that's fun, my disappointment was only due to getting no more than 40 on an even road.
we haven't brought any of the Rattler 200i's in yet. Not to say we wont but we wanted to see how the first year of them went before offering them to our customers

186 MPH, yeah on its way down mount Everest.
I'd like to see a top-speed comparison between a Buddy 170i and a Hooligan 170i. I'm interested in maybe purchasing one of these. Thanks!

Trying to figure out how a 2-stroke is legal on the road in the US
Staying low, keeping you knees together and wearing tight clothes makes a huge difference in top speed
