That truck has more money in it than an armored bank truck
Oh yeah!
Ikr. I think I have found a better target than an armored truck.
It probably does. I wonder how much the driver owes to snap on for all of that? The mechanics that think they are in deep to the tool man probably don’t realize the tool man is in way WAY deeper to the bigger tool man.
Steffen Zimmerman most armored trucks are running around at capacity. I see them all the time stopping at retail stores picking up cash deposits. No way in fuck they have 600 million on board. I’m sure a very small minority of them go make big deliveries like that but I think they’ll be just that, the minority.
Yeah and what's sad is they stock the truck in Mexico for $4 and then say it has $295,000 in tools aboard.
Best snap on deal I've ever gotten...free. Driving down the road and found a snap on screw driver just laying there. It was rusty and the handle was all broken. Probably fell off someone's work truck. Took it to the snap on truck. He changed out the whole thing no questions asked. Just gave me a brand new one. Still use it every day.
Yep! I look for good used snap on sockets on e-bay, when they break I just trade them in for a new one!
JUST THE KIND OF CUSTOMER SNAP ON GUYS HATE
Haha my first snap on was a 10mm wrench found in a parking lot.
@@sorryimajerk735 hey man lifetime warranty is lifetime warranty
Lifetime warranty only applies to the blade. The handle is a wear item and as such isn’t included.
The snap on dealer obv knew the guy was a one time customer and didn’t want to argue with some tool grubbing non technician so he gave him the whole thing.
As a real mechanic you get to hear all about all the different kinds of snap on customers and they all will tell u there are ones they just want to fuck off forever, just like any business
I feel like I owe this guy $25 a paycheck for the next 3 years just from watching this video .
lol
I know right lol
Its a racket
More like $50 a week !

The Snap-On man.... keeping mechanics broke for 43 years and counting.
Yep, I was just about to say that.... They're good tools, but that tool man will tell ya.... "Don't worry about it, you can put on the tab" lol, turns out that 100$ ratchet becomes a 200$ ratchet
you know snap on patented the snap on socket in 1929 right?
Mechanics...keeping naive car owners broke for over 100 years and counting.
SupaNami That's more because mechanics are so good at fixing things that there's no brain power left over for stuff like managing a reasonable tool purchase budget.
It's all about being smart with your money.
Try and set something up so you get lets say $20 taken out of your paycheck and put into your savings account. 5 weeks later that's $100.
Guess what? Now you can have that nice $100 ratchet for exactly as much as they say it costs.
Saving is "paying off the debt over time" BEFORE you buy something, credit is "paying off the debt over time" AFTER you buy something. Credit is more expensive than saving, and saving can actually make you money (interest works in your favor when you're saving, and against you when you use credit).
In other words, with some thought put into planning, and a willingness to wait to get something, you can get what you want without paying any interest, assuming you have ANY amount of money left over after paying the bills and food cost.
The Snap on guy isn’t holding a gun to anyone’s head. They are expensive but there’s a reason for most of it. Try getting a 270lb guy to put all his weight on a full drawer in a craftsman box or something.
When I was a tech the driver would extend a bit of credit on a “truck account”. There was no interest and no credit ap. So that 99 dollar ratchet stays 99 dollars. Unless you start buying really expensive shit like boxes, there’s not much reason to have to go through more. I bought a small box and a decent amount of tools and never paid any Interest.
I wish Harbor Freight had a truck!👍😁
That would be sweet. Pay a little more for it to come to you. Nice to have a replacement come to you

I’m the guy who’s like.. “got any stickers?”

Back in my herbal smoking days i bought a Few snap-on hemostats. One was used for lol... You know what. Those things i got cheap. Iirc was around 15 for three of them

Can I have a catalogue 😂
Why is it so hard to find a Snap On franchisee
who appreciates the business you want to give them. This guy seems like one of the good ones.
Yep he comes every week weather I buy nothing at all or something big
We got a snap on guy like that. He is the best snap on dealer I’ve ever come across and I buy all my tools from him. He earns our business
Mine I feel like could be a bit more appreciative, but we do have a midas right next to us. Even now I see maybe a few more things I'd grab, but his does way better with the merch than what I've experienced.
Can anyone buy from them I work for a school and fix there vehicles can you just find a truck parked and walk in like a store I always thought these trucks were mechanics
@@MikePlacer depends on the dealer. If he knows you are a mechanic he will happily stop by you if you buy something from him

your snap on salesman is awsome i bet he sales tools like crazy. seems like a very nice guy
Best one we have ever had IMO
He knows everything about every tool. Super dedicated to the job and not pushy in any way. And wow, that attention to detail. If I had a tool truck it would look like an earthquake at the tool factory.
Yeah he seems genuine and down to earth. Really realistic view on tools too. I'd buy snap on if I was a mechanic and had a guy like him.

South Main Auto Repair never been there, but his demeanor and knowledge was amazing.
I remember watching this video 6 years ago when it was posted just to see what it was like on the truck at this time I was 11 I’m now 17 working at an auto shop and can’t wait for the truck to come around
The Snap on truck is my favorite part of my week. I've never had any issues when coming to replacement or having bits swapped out that broke. I love my Snap on guy !!!!!!

Adam Lemus - No kidding.
You may not see them, but there's cameras inside many of those trucks. A Snap-On guy showed me footage of a mechanic stealing behind his back, along with the footage of his following visit when he showed it to him inside the truck… It was priceless watching the dude's face turn to stone as he was watching himself doing the grab & hide, LOL!

$29.99 for a ratchet? It costs that much just to walk on the Snap-On truck...
xSLWRTHNUx yea he got that wrong bc husky has that ratchet for 29.99
SLWRTHNU that’s what the bottle opener costs...
29.99 was it 70% off?
No it is 99.99....ON OFFER FROM 129.99....Not too smart.
That long ratchet is $159... $60 is still overpriced
Made for an excellent video because the snap on man was not only well knowledgeable about his tools from past experience as a mechanic but also an excellent work ethic of knowing his business. Combine that with an excellent mechanic and you have two guys that not only can work well together but two that can each learn something from the other. Enjoyable video !!!
He’ll throw in a free shirt with the ratchet so you have something to wipe away your tears when you realize how much you just spent
"I owe my soul to the company store..."
I don't think you can get a Snap-On toothpick for $29.99...
That's not how ya do it fool! , i got a 5 pack of toothpicks for 129.99 instead of paying 29.99 a piece, snap on guy saved me a fortune in the end
He'll get that for you. Next week.
With the high cost of lumber tooth picks from snap-on tooth picks are 29.99 for a package of 5.

I'm a very strange breed of woman, so this is what I feel like going in to harbor freight, Advance Auto Parts and O'Reilly's. My husband nearly has to literally pull me out of Harbor Freight. 😂 But yeah, your statement is correct for the typical woman. I sympathize with you guys, it IS torture waiting around and holding your women's crap while they spend hours in the mall. And for what!?? 😕

I was surprised when I walked through the new Harbor Freight and found split loom plastic wire loom in different sizes.
I didn't know if it would hold up to heat on top of an engine, exposed to heat and cold outside and buried in the ground, but lo and behold after 4 years it's still going strong and it was cheaper than other sources.
That's the carriage to heaven right there.
Every tool fans dream.
Oh, the music from the phone is from a group called Muse, and the track title is called Knights of Cydonia.
I was a mechanic for 50 years and I always used Snap-On. The trick is don't buy a lot of tools at once. When your a mechanic you never stop buying tools until you retire.
Im a mailman and delivered to the snapon man in his super secret location. He had about 3 trucks worth of inventory in his garage. Nice guy, showed me around his truck. Pretty neat stuff!
Tell Neal thank you for letting us view his truck. I know there are a few snap on truck guys that get bent out of shape when they get videos in their trucks. So I appreciate him letting you and us see his truck and taking his time to talk to you and us

When I worked at a body shop in my teens, I used to jump on the Matco, snap-on and Mac tools trucks. I bought my first large toolbox from Matco that I still have to this day. It was always so tempting to spend everything in my pocket when they showed up.
OMG! That truck is like Santa's sleigh! It will make a grown man squeal like a little kid on Christmas morning. So cool.
This is like the ice cream truck for mechanics except it leaves your pockets empty and you get no ice cream.

El sueño del pibe
The snap on guy is a walking encyclopedia!
A benefit of Snap on the guy can tell you about the product. If I think it's in isle 5. You get what you pay for
It's part of his job ofcourse he is going to know his shit. You dumb fuck.
It took me 7 yrs, but I finally found a down to Earth, cool SO rep. Similar to this dude.
Btw I jumped on the new extra long flex head too.
I wonder how well these cats are doing in the current economic environment. I have my grandpa's 1/4 and 1/2 inch vintage sets and I had no idea they were this expensive. However, the new sets don't come with the faint smell of Schmidt's beer and the echoes of an endless string of Italian obscenities.
Ahhhh Schmidt's and cussing... I can smell exhaust fumes and cigarettes all ready...
"these cats" will always be able to make money. If not off the portion of family grave plots they have people sign over, then for the complete* tool boxes they confiscate from people who miss payments... some which even contain "great grandpappy's tools 'I' inherited", which go along with the re-sale, after repo.
It's not your box until you pay for it though...
With him, it was the smell of juicy, Dutch Master cigars. Everything in his workshop was stored in cigar boxes as well.
bg147 your the fucking man bro
OMG! been a long long time since i was in a Snap On or Mac Tools truck, +- 28 years now. Hi from the east coast of Canada! Was apprenticing as a bus and transport mechanic for a number of years at rather the late age of late 20's early 30's and abruptly decided that was not a career path i actually wanted, left, went for 20+- years into commercial construction/carpentry and now work at a local sawmill about 7-8 min from home looking to retire in a couple years. Weird career journey to be sure lol. I used to love when those guys pulled in the yard and peddled their wares. The amazing (stupid expensive lol) stuff just made you drool and fortunately, they allowed payment plans as im sure they still do. Still have a few Snap On tools kicking around after 3 decades. Love this channel and thanks for the nostalgic journey.
I have my Snap-on boxes I bought about 27 years ago and it still does the job and works fine. The lid safety retainer welds broke off but the lid stays up on it's on but my advice is be smart about buying tools, there are many, many equally well made tools for less than a spleen, or kidney although back in the day there was very little competition for pro quality tools, and I always enjoyed taking a look on the ole SO truck each week.
Yikes, $107.00 for a 1/4 ratchet.
Notice how Eric didn't say "if I can do it, you can do it" at the end of this one
Andrew Wiitala
Well I'll tell you, - I couldn't pay that much money for a little 1/4" ratchet that's for sure.
*****
I've got lots of snap-on tools, and lots of other brands, and I wouldn't say they're the best, I don't think they're worth the money that people pay for them right off the truck, they're good, don't get me wrong, just not that good.
Gearwrench is the poor man's snap on if you aren't a professional mechanic. At least for some hand tools. I have a 1/4 inch Gearwrench ratchet and a 1/4 inch snap on ratchet and they are very close.
Blue-Point is is the poor mans Snap-Off, actually. I was a tech for 13 years, the only things you should buy off this truck are beef jerky and specialty tools. Nice stuff? Absolutely. Necessity? Absolutely not.
Lord have mercy that was an expensive ratchet! It seems like the snap on tool truck experience leaves you with that ridden hard and put away wet feeling.
Cool, you have Ivan's shirt on. I'm glad I saw him on one of your videos. I am currently catching up on his diagnosis. I am covered as far as diagnosing. Between you, Ivan, Eric, Scanner D, and Ratches and Wrenches. I appreciate all the advise from all of you.
Wish all snap-on dealers were as nice and imformative as this guy .Great video
I love my harbor freight Pittsburgh pro line never lets me down. Just like a bank robbery Get in Get what you need and Get out Fast. I have spent way over my budget in a Snap On truck and I'm not even a vehicle mechanic. I'm an IT admin and decided I needed a Snap-On toolbox for all my "IT" tools. On the bright side I have a great cranberry 40" roll n lock toolbox that is in mint condition in my office. It's fun to watch people try to open the drawers.

i bought a pair of wire strippers from snap on truck. Broke after 6 months.Took them back to snap on truck and was told that they wouldn't fix them or replace them. They claimed it was the life of the tool. Had to have the owner of my company come out. Snap On man ended up getting kicked off of the property never to return.
good riddance to the filthy thief!
My original Snap On dealer retired. Took six months for the new Snap On dealer to come out. Gave him a box of stripped sockets and a broken ratchet. He handed them back to me and said "I'd go broke if I had to replace a bunch of tools that were purchased from another dealer." Called Snap On corporate and was told 'well, our drivers are all independent franchisees and we can't force them to take returns that they didn't sell you'. I told them to never set foot in our parking lot again, we were switching to Matco. My tools come from either Matco or Harbor Freight; or Craftsman from Sears or Ace if I happen to be over there.
@@RockandrollNegro snap on sounds shady to do business with
NoDominion DIY it’s shady because of the prices they make. They are already stingy in the first place(not all of em ofc) so they are gonna try and get as much money as they can
snap on ratchets are worth every c note. I found good deals on the trucks at a car shows. get him down to eBay prices
I had always though SnapOn was the creme de la creme until I called them for the name of a local dealer and was told that if I wasn't a garage that I wasn't going to be given a dealers phone.
As the owner of an engineering firm re-tooling our mechanical assembly area this attitude shocked me. Due to a recent order we had allocated $200,000 for new tooling which the SnapOn phone rep just turned their nose up to. Needless to say there are many tool companies and suprisingly Harbor Freight has some nice tools in the Icon line with lifetime warranty at substantially cheaper prices and immediate warranty replacement. I have to say SnapOn has the best sales prevention department manned by fools.
This was the first sma video I ever saw and been subbed since!
Snap-On is pretty interesting in that they've managed to market tools to men like designers market clothes to women.
In the past, Snap was (for me anyway) the sole source for several unique tools. Love the quality, not so fond of the prices these days. That truck must be carrying 4 tons of tools.
I used to mechanic on tractors back in the 79's & 80's up to1990. I spent so much time on the Snap-On truck that the dealer started pimping me to become a dealer. I actually educated him on some of the tools he pushed. We were just 30 miles from Kenosha, the home of Snap-On. i went a different route & profession so my tools sit idle a LOT.

When I was an auto tech, my snap-on guy gave me crap about warranty all the time. One that made me quit buying his product was a socket that split and put my knuckles into a radiator. He said it shouldn't have been abused by using a breaker bar... I was using a 3/8" 12" rachet. He refused to believe the socket was defective as I stood there with a rashed up hand.

I worked for SWIFT in Syracuse 20 years ago and the Snap On guy that came there was an a**. I worked side jobs at a shop in Fulton and the Snap On woman that came there was cool. Bev gave you a free tool on your birthday or a really good discount if you were buying something expensive. I borrowed a buddies 40th anniversary #3 cross tip and stripped the head on it. He was pissed, I told him I would get it fixed tonight and have it back to you in the morning. I drove to my second job and Bev replaced the screw driver in a few seconds and I was good to go. The next morning the guy was in shock and asked if I could break the rest of his set so he could get all new looking drivers. Neil looks like one of the good ones.
Our old snapon guy was a drunk and we would walk off the truck after being given hundreds of dollars worth of tools for free each week one guy was given a scanner that costs $8k. Me personally always tried to insist on paying the guy for the tools but he would get argumentative when you tried to pay him. Its a shame he retired. But the new guy is awsome and works with you no matter what he will even pay your credit bill and add that amount to your truck account if you cant make a payment whether your off work because you got hurt or dont have a paycheck that week because you were on vacation the week before or if it was a short week because of a holiday.
