What's really interesting,
Is that you really only need to do this on DEXTER dryers,
Never, ever, ever on Speedqueen, Huebsch, Ipso, ADC, or any other dryer that I've ever seen or owned.
I've owned them all, for many years.
The message here is....
Although I like many things about Dexter's products, .......THIS IS A FIXABLE PROBLEM, GET IT FIXED DEXTER!!
Actually that is incorrect. Alliance (Speed Queen, Huebsch, Ipso, Cissel, Primus, Unimac) use exactly the same type of door glass gasket and it is installed exactly the same way. ADC has used it in the past, I believe, but you are correct that they have been using a mechanical fastener system for quite some time. Ii have not only owned them, but I have sold them!
So the drill tool looks like a circular bit that fits in a groove?
Yes, here it is:

Thank you
Would you suggest anything besides WD40, as it is a solvent and won’t eat at the rubber seal?
