      love those blinds and they function well. Gotta get you a special logo made so when you start your videos your logo can pop up. Brainstorm with your friends and family or I will get a few guys here in MN to help. Also really like how the fast forward nailing off the flange you did a voice over during that ..... that's a good editing process. Cheers man!!! see ya next vid

      I think that would be a nice touch. A good intro graphic of some kind. I’ve seen other channels do that. Makes the videos look more official. The voiceover while doing the fast video seems to be a better fit than just playing the fast video. I’m up late at night editing the saying sometimes so if you find a mistake let me know LOL. Stay tuned!

    If you end up doing the flashing under the door, what do you use for fastening it to the floor? Liquid nails ontop of the tape? screws?

    • @danielsshow3324
      @danielsshow3324 4 месяца назад +1

      Liquid nail is the absolute worst thing to use on vinyl. I do this everyday as a contractor for the last decade. NP-1 or rainbuster polyurethane would be per manufacturer specs to seal around the fin where a 2-3/4 X 8 screw is required not nails. And on a wooden subfloor I’d never install a door without a recess pan designed specifically for moisture. Tyvek tape wouldn’t pass code it needs a pressure design per code. Also the tyvek would pass over top of the screwed off fin at the top of door to prevent water running downhill not taped over it after it’s screwed off. Don’t pull permits if you’re willing to follow these directions.

  • @enjoylife7030
    @enjoylife7030 Месяц назад

    If you are replacing an existing door, do you have any suggestions for breaking that liquid nail seal on the bottom of the existing slider? Obviously you don't want to be too rough with the old door and have glass shatter everywhere. Thanks.

    installing new sliding doors is always good, but I want to share with you my experience, I live in Orlando Florida, I contacted the Masterslide company with the problem of my sliding doors (if you ask, I will share the contacts) they replaced the rollers, installed a track cover and a new handle with a lock. Now my door is like new and I'm as happy as a child! And most importantly, I thought that I saved more than two thousand dollars! Just because repairs are cheaper!))) so think before ordering new ones. This is not advertising, this is my case.

    • @freeamerican4243
      @freeamerican4243 4 месяца назад

      I bought a Pella door and the are taking it back to remove the nail flange from the bottom since it will be installed on a slab. You then drive screws through the sill.
      How did you install yours ?

    • @Macedmama617

      We ended up and removed the flange on the bottom. Then used liquid nail heavy duty for the bottom which also worked as a sealer. Nailed the flange around the sides! Basically just like shown in the video! It’s perfect!

      I actually ordered and just received a 150 series 96x80 no blinds. It's marketed as reversible/universal. You can configure it any way you like. It comes with instructions to do so. The different ways involve removing the panel(s) and flipping the frame top to bottom and removing the track and relocating it from bottom to top before flipping or top to bottom after prior to reinstalling the panel(s). Then reinstalling the handle as needed as well as the latch potentially if your combination of repositioning causes it to be upside down and or backwards. Again this is with the no blinds version. And the instructions to do so are provided with the door. Not able to order as left or right. Its just universal and you can bet it will likely be opposite of how you'd like to install it. But definitely doable. I can't speak for the blinds version but I feel like it would work similarly but perhaps not. Pella does have instructions also on there website but they seem to be generic and referencing another model. But looking at my instructions for the 150 and comparing them to the online instructions. It's the exact same process.

    What is the rough opening for a 72” wide by 80” high sliding patio door?

    • @rodrigoarreguin9865
      @rodrigoarreguin9865 2 года назад +3

      A 72x80 vinyl 250 double sliding door from pella actual size is 71.5”x79.5”. So the rough opening is recommended to be 72”x80”. You want to have at least a half inch bigger rough opening then the width and height of the frame size. Also the door shown installed does not meet u factor and would not pass code in the Chicago area. So check what the minimum u factor is in your area.
