hi! u can try sliding the upper case to fit into the edges and then u can just press it down to make it click and know it's secure. had trouble putting mine on as well when i received it.

Its worth it, Apple won't release anything maybe for quiet a long period of time for its macbook especially air lineup, they're focusing more on the pro' users devices, like the mac pro, and stuff. M1 is great for at least another 5+ years
