My sister stopped attending church because of some disagreements she had with a few members. What she has not realized is that the body of Christ, the church, does not belong to a few people. It is not their church. It’s the Lords church.
I would NOT dismiss their concerns, but I would encourage them to seek the Lord and find a church where they can have a sense of community and engagement.
Churches might expect you to give money, but it is commanded by God to return a portion of what He has graciously given. Tithes and offerings are also used to support ministries and missions, so unless biblical tithing is being preached, the whole counsel of God is not being preached.
